Chapter 472 - 472 UNBELIEVABLE!
Tangled By Fate
472 UNBELIEVABLE!
âLetâs hear your reason. Just remember if I donât like your explanation, Iâll separate your head from your neck.â
At Zinniaâs threat, Prince Louis removed his disguise.
Veronica finally recognized him. He was the prince she saw at the party.
âIâm here because I had a feeling that Queen Mother was connected to the witches somehow,â Prince Louis confessed.
âWhat does that have to do with your appearance in the tower?â Zinnia interrogated him.
Prince Louis said, âI knew for a long time she was plotting something against the Magic Tower. I thought I needed to do something in order to save the tower and myself.
âTherefore, I decided to come to the Magic Tower in disguise and join hands with Queen Mother. This way, I will be able to keep an eye on her.â
After hearing his reason, Veronica raised her eyebrows.
She started, âI understand your reasonsâ¦â
.....
âVeronica, this isâ¦â Zinnia tried to stop her.
Veronica raised a hand to stop her and continued, ââ¦but you have no right to sell our private information or important information to anyone. Do you know I may be in grave danger thanks to you?â
Prince Louis elegantly bowed. âI deeply apologize if it somehow affects your lifestyle.â
âI heard enough.â Ovior intertwined his fingers and placed his chin on top of his joined fingers.
His cold eyes gazed at the prince.
âCrown Prince Louis, your stupidity and selfishness might cause her life.
âYour apology isnât enough to pay off her life. Do you think Arthur will let you go if something happens to her?â
Prince Louis looked at Ovior. âWhy will Mistress Silverstarâs life be at stake?â
Zinnia glared at him.
âAre you stupid or pretending to be one? Since you are spying on us, you must know Veronicaâs true identity.
âIâve already found out the witches knew that identity too. You sold her out.â
She roared at the detestable prince.
Prince Louis was stunned. His heart was shaken by Zinniaâs roar but didnât let others sense his fear.
âThatâs nonsense, Lady Zinnia. I have only disclosed how she hid her amazing silver hair. I said nothing more.
âMoreover, itâs not easy to gain Queen Motherâs trust. She has more spies in the tower.
âAs a result, there are some facts I had to share just as much as other spies knew.
âI swear by Goddess Juvena, Iâve never shared any information that could harm Mistress Silverstar.â
âFine, we wonât hold it against you,â Veronica stated.
âIs that okay to leave him be?â Zinnia still couldnât trust him.
Ovior solemnly responded, âWe have to. In fact, as long as he is staying here, the Queen wonât know we have found out about him.
âThis way, she wonât send another spy. Prince Louis will do the spying part and at the same time, he will have to tell us about all the spies who were planted by the Queen and the witches.
âWe will monitor the spies and Prince Louis will sell the information exactly how we tell him to. That way, if the witches want the war, we will be able to win it.â
âBrilliant, Ovior! I do like the plan,â Veronica said. âLetâs do it according to your plan.â
âLeave it to me,â Ovior replied.
âIâll do according to your wish,â Prince Louis stated.
âYes, you must or else you will face my sword despite being a prince. Got that?â Zinnia threatened him.
Prince Louis smiled elegantly at her.
âLady Zinnia is as upright as her. You look more beautiful when you are threatening someone.â
Upon hearing his words, Veronica and Ovior were speechless.
âHuh? What do you mean?â Zinnia squinted her eyes. Her eyes were full of suspicion.
Prince Louis placed his left hand on his chest and said, âEver since I first saw you, Iâve admired your beauty, intelligence and strength. You can say, itâs love at first sight.â
Veronica: ââ¦â
Ovior: ââ¦â
Zinnia: â???â
Prince Louis earnestly stated, âItâs my long-time wish to be able to get married to you.â
âHuh?â
Zinnia was thunderstruck. She had never been this puzzled in her whole life.
Veronica was confused as well.
âAm I hearing this? Crown Prince Louis is really something. Doesnât he know how to read the room?â
âZinnia is even threatening him with her sword. And he has the gal to confess his love to her?â
She wondered as she stared at Prince Louis.
Ovior cleared his throat.
âAhem! I understand that you are attracted to Zinniaâs beauty but did you forget your age difference?â he mentioned.
If it was another time, Zinnia would throw her shuriken at him. However, this time the situation was a bit different.
She was wondering the same thing!
âThatâs true. Zinnia is in her 30s whereas Prince Louis is in his 20s. There is a big difference,â Veronica thought.
Although she was thinking the same thing, she dared not to speak aloud.
Who knew if Zinnia would attack her?
Even though Veronica was good at fighting, she wasnât as good as Zinnia.
Meanwhile, the most seductive woman on earth was furious to the point her seductiveness flew away out of the window.
âLove at first sight? Marriage?! If you told us the Queenâs plan earlier, we could have prepared earlier. Veronicaâs true identity wouldnât be disclosed.â
At Zinniaâs outburst, Prince Louis began to show his guilt.
He bowed at Veronica and said, âIâm really sorry for the trouble. I wasnât thinking straight.â
Veronica started to feel uncomfortable as the Royal Prince kept bowing to her.
âI forgive you this time. However, there wonât be the next time,â she stated. Her words hinted at a fair warning.
âThatâs very generous of you, Mistress Silverstar.â
Prince Louis straightened his back and glanced at Zinnia.
âLady Zinnia, Iâve already let you know my feelings. I hope you think about it for a while before replying to me. Iâll be sincerely waiting for your answer.â
He gave her the final bow and then left the room.
Zinnia looked at the other two. âDid you just see that? This is unbelievable!â
Her voice carried astonishment.
âIs this the first time a man proposed to you, Zinnia?â Veronica asked, showing her curiosity.
Zinnia sat on the couch and then smirked at her.
âOh honey, do you think I lack man? Just look at me and see if a man wonât be provoked by seeing me.â
Her confidence level was out of control. Anyone who heard her would understand how much pride she had in her alluring body.
Ovior: ââ¦â
âTrue,â Veronica couldnât help but agree. âSo then, why are you acting that you cannot believe he proposed to you?â
âHow could I?â Zinnia began to explain, âJust look at the mess he created. We dragged him here to interrogate him but he confessed to me and even stated that he wanted to marry me.
âIs the Crown Prince that airheaded? If so, then we have to worry about the future of our land.â
âOr maybe he just wanted to distract us,â Veronica mumbled.
She faced Ovior and asked, âOvior, there is no way a man could just roam around in disguise in front of your nose and you wonât notice it. Did you know that he was a spy?â
âArthur and I permitted him to stay and work here under His Majesty the Kingâs request,â Ovior replied.
.....
He added, âWe had no idea that he was selling the information. I thought he was on our side. Thus, I never investigated him.â
âThatâs so unlike you, Ovior. I canât believe you let your guard down,â Zinnia remarked.
âWell, it canât be helped. Ovior isnât a superhero. My husband is too unskilled to manage his household. Ovior was too busy because of Arthurâs inability.â
Veronica shoved all blame on Arthurâs shoulders.
âYour generosity is remarkable,â Ovior flatly commented. âI thank you for that.â
âYou are most welcome,â Veronica smiled. âIâll go and take some rest. See you two later.â
âSureâ¦â Zinnia said.
After Veronica left, she looked at Ovior. âDid you really not notice that the Crown Prince was here to spy? I donât think things are that simple.â
âI donât know what you mean, Zinnia,â Ovior responded.
âDonât play dumb with me,â Zinnia snapped at him. âIâm not as single-minded as Veronica. You let the Crown Prince spy on the tower, didnât you?
âSince Arthur wasnât around, you could do anything you wanted. You helped him with disguise, didnât you?â
âââ-
Veronica sneaked into Arthurâs office only to find his chair empty.
âHuh? Where did he go?â murmuring to herself, she looked around the room.
Arthurâs office was spacious. One couldnât see everything with a single glance. There were just too many pillars and bookshelves covering oneâs sight.
Veronica walked around, peeking here and there. Suddenly, something caught her eyes.
She halted and looked at the left bookshelf.
Although it was a bookshelf, Arthur placed many items there. Most of them were too unfamiliar to Veronica.
Even so, there was one thing she found familiar.
It was a photo frame.
In the photo, there were three people. Arthur, Ovior and some other girl.
âWho is she?â
