Chapter 392
Tangled By Fate
âFind the blessed child, Crown Prince. We must have her before she falls into someone elseâs hand.â
The Crown Prince thought for a moment before asking, âMay I know how far I can go to search for the blessed child? I know we have to be more secretive but doing that will only slow us down.â
King Graham nodded slowly as if he could understand.
âI understand your point but we already have a fake blessed child living in the palace. We canât let our people become confused. It might bring chaos in the kingdom which I donât prefer.â
âI apologize in advance, Your Majesty.â The Crown Prince bowed.
âWhatâs wrong?â King Graham furrowed his eyebrows.
The Crown Prince confessed with a guilty expression, âWithout your permission, Iâve already started a secret investigation.ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
.....
âSecret investigation?â King Graham raised an eyebrow, not understanding the reason.
âYes. To find the blessed child,â the Crown Prince revealed.
King Graham was rather surprised. âWhen did you start your secret investigation?â
Noticing that the king wasnât upset, the Crown Prince straightened his back. He told him the truth, âRight after the blessed child escaped from the palace.â
âThatâs almost the same time I ordered the second prince. So, whatâs the result?â
King Graham showed interest rather than anger.
The Crown Prince slightly lowered his head.
âI still havenât found her yet since it was a secret investigation. With the manpower I have, it is quite difficult to find a woman in the entire continent.â
It was only then, someone stepped forward. That person was standing behind the curtain that was situated behind the golden throne.
The man was around fifty-seven years old. He was wearing a white uniform like any other Royal Officials. Only, he had a golden broach that was meant for the Prime Minister of Utahill.
The Prime Minister requested, âYour Majesty, may I interrupt your important conversation? I have something to ask the Crown Prince.â
King Graham gave a slight nod.
With the kingâs permission, the Prime Minister fixed his heavy glasses and asked, âCrown Prince, may I know how you started your searching?â
The Crown Prince explained, âSince the Prime Minister showed his interest, I must explain. First, I sent my men to look for a girl who had silver hair. Since the blessed child didnât have time to put on a disguise, I thought we would find her easily.â
The Prime Minister interrupted him by inquiring, âWhy do you think she didnât disguise?â
The Crown Prince stated, âShe is a woman, Prime Minister. Even though she was experienced in facing war, she was suddenly captured by us. Her target was to leave the palace by making a commotion.
âThis immature attempt worked because it was the first thing any army would do. She used her historical knowledge. She didnât have the resources to come up with a disguise in such a short period.â
The Prime Minister agreed. âGood point. But you didnât find her. Why?â
The Crown Prince patiently replied, âThatâs because she was taken by a group of traffickers.â
King Graham opened his eyes wide in shock and slammed the handle of the throne to express his anger.
âI knew she only knew how to cause trouble. Thatâs why Saint Ava told us to keep an eye on her! But the foolish second prince failed me.â
âYour Majesty, please calm down. Your health is of utmost importance,â the Prime Minister requested the king and then looked at the prince in front of him. âCrown Prince, please tell us what happened afterward.â
The Crown Prince answered, âWe traced their tracks but unfortunately, we couldnât find anyone alive. All the traffickers were dead and the hostages were gone. There was no clue left. Some warriors came before us and saved them. We did our best to trace them. Even so, we found nothing.â
âThen, I guess she was rescued by a group of warriors.â King Graham started to calm down. âWhat did you do after that?â
The Crown Prince narrated shortly, âI sent my men to search all the kingdoms to find a woman with silver hair and a pair of green eyes. It took them months to come up with a negative answer. Later, I asked the Royal Artist to give us the body and facial structure of the blessed child.
âSince our time was short, I sent those pictures by using my trained messenger birds. Since silver hair and green eyes were hard to find, we are skimming through all the women with the same facial and body structure of the blessed child.
âI like your idea,â the Prime Minister approved with satisfaction. âHow long will it take?â
The Crown Prince counted a long time ago. He didnât hesitate to reply, âIt will take a hell of a time since a blessed child was an average-looking girl except for her eyes and hair.â
King Graham was surprised by his sonâs comment.
âDonât you think you are being too hard on the blessed child? Iâve seen her with my very own eyes and she was a gorgeous woman.â
The Prime Minister stated with a hint of a smile, âMaybe someone else captured His Highnessâs heart. Thatâs why a beautiful lady seems mediocre in the eyes of our Crown Prince.â
King Graham curiously looked at his son. âIs that true, Crown Prince? Do you have someone in your heart already?â
The Crown Prince politely declined, âThere is no one, Your Majesty. Iâm only sharing my perspective. Iâve seen more beautiful women in every ball the Royal Palace holds.â
King Graham was surprised when he heard that. âMost certainly there will be beautiful ladies at the ball, Crown Prince. They decorate themselves to be your future Queen. Has no one caught your eyes yet?â
The Crown Prince, however, answered, âNo one yet, Your Majesty. Iâm too focused on the blessed child. World peace is my top priority.â
King Graham was content. âYou always know how to please me, Crown Prince.â
âThatâs because Your Majesty taught me well.â
King Graham laughed heartily. âThere was never a dull moment with my precious son,â he thought.
âHaha. Fine. Iâll allow you to take the Royal Seal so that you can use my secret spies to find the blessed child faster.â
âThank you, Your Majesty.â The Crown Prince bowed.
âMake me proud.â
