The slow drip sound of water hitting the ground is what wakes me. My eyes blurry as I open

them to my surroundings, bright lights above me making my eyes hurt as I turn my head, my neck is

extremely stiff as I try to figure out where I am before my eyes fall on Mara in the cage next to the

one they have me in. Like she was some dog and not a child.

“Ah about time you woke up thinking you would be out a little longer though” Says Demetri, as

he runs a baton along the steel bars, the noise making my ears ring as my head pounded from

whatever it was they gave me.

“Quite the talker that daughter of yours, if she wasn't so cute I would have killed her by now,

but her temper really is that of her father's don’t you agree Laura?" He says before I spot her sitting

behind the small cage Mara was in on a mustard coloured lounge, she was wrapping a bandage

around her arm and looks up when he questions her.

“Yes the brat bit me, like a savage” Laura spits at me.

“Let her go, she is just a child” I croak out my throat dry and scratchy like i swallowed razor

blades.

“Can't do that, the party is just getting started and you two will have him walk right into my

trap” Demetri says tauntingly

“My dadda is gonna make you bleed” Mara says in a sing-song voice.

“Is that right?” Demetri asks, kneeling in front of the cage she is in.

“Not, you. Her, you will burn” She says and he presses his lips in a line before standing.

“Quite the imagination she has” He mutters to no one in particular.

“She is right, by the time my husband is done with you, there will be nothing left”

“Why? Because I took you once again, I survived last time. I will again, it will be your husband

that pays for what he did to my wife”

“Not because you took me you twat, because you took her. They will reign hell down on you for

that" I tell him before coughing. Laura looks at Mara nervously as she plays with the velcro on her

shoes, pulling it on and off. The noise makes my teeth ache.

Looking around I could see a set of stairs leading somewhere, straining my ears I could hear

footsteps above and someone opening a door. The sound makes me laugh. Bloody fool we were in

a house, I could even hear cars passing by if I listened carefully, just an ordinary house and he thinks

they won't find him. The mark on my neck will ensure they will.

“How long have we been down here?”

“About two hours has passed since I kidnapped you, must say though I am shocked you are

awake I gave you enough sedatives to knock you out for a few days”

“Mumma is having a baby” Mara says and I groan that was the last thing I needed her to tell

him. Demetris’ red eyes snap to me and he cocks his head to the side listening. His dark fringe

falling to his nose before he blows it back.

“Hmm interesting, could explain why you are awake then” Though Laura paled at the

information.

“But you gave her wolfsbane” She shrieks making me wonder if the thought of me being

pregnant sickened her, yet she would take a child? Guessing by the horrified look on her face it

does.

“Her baby will be a Tribrid, wolfsbane alone won't do much, but I bet you're thirsty” He says his

eyes flickering to Mara cage.

“So given it has been two hours since I left the park I give you another hour tops before you're

dead” I tell him trying to get his eyes off Mara. His eyes flick back to me for a second.

“I am hoping even less before they come. I am well prepared” He says.

“And speaking of those preparations I best make sure they are ready” He says turning toward

the wooden stairs.

“Watch them” He says to Laura who looks at me nervously when I notice another door behind

her.

Demetri leaves and I hear the door click.

"Why are you helping him, what did he promise you?" I asked Laura before coughing again, my

throat killing and I needed blood.

"I love him," she says thoughtfully, like that just defeats all logic.

"He doesn't love you,Laura he is just using you"

"You know nothing, he does. He said he would change me" she says looking at her nails. I scoff

at her words.

"He says he loves you but here he is getting revenge for that bitch of a wife of his, if he does

why hasn't he changed already?" I ask her, Mara keeps pulling on the Velcro, the sound growing

louder and Laura's scent was making me agitated.

“Mara Baby please don't do that" I tell her softly but the words came out more a growl as my

fangs slipped from my gums. Mara pushes her lips out but stops.

"Help us and I will change you myself" I tell Laura looking back at her.

She says nothing but I saw her eyes dart to the door before falling back on me.

“No, I can't, he won't hurt you. He promised,

“you are only here to draw your husband out” She says her eyes going back to the door and

stairs.

“You know that's a lie, if you help me I will give you what you want or atleast get KMara out of

here for me” I tell her, hoping there was some part of her that would realise Mara was innocent in all

of this. She shakes her head looking at Mara, though I could see the doubt in her eyes, she knew he

had ill intentions for us.

“Can you at least get me some water” I ask her and she looks underneath the stairs and I notice

a small bar fridge. SHe gets walking over to it before opening it and I notice blood bags inside it

and a few bottles of water. She grabs one out before walking over to me, she passes it through the

bars and I grab her hand yanking her closer to me, letting my compulsion slip over her before

shaking her head.

“Won't work on me, Demteri made sure of that or he wouldn't have left me down here with

you" She says before smiling. I see her hand move touching something before feeling a jolt of

electricity blast through the bar and up my, making me smash backwards into the back of the wall,

she shrieks as she is jolted through me when the door upstairs bursts open and Demetri rushes
