“What is this?”

Aurora was frightened by the room that had a lot of sexual toys she did not have names to but seeing the bed in the room, it was clear that this Alpha practiced BDSM.

“This is where I release boredom. All these toys have different functions. You want to try them.”

A layer of disgust contoured Aurora’s face. “No. These are, demeaning and I won’t clean them. I’m sorry.”

Aurora was pinned against the wall before she could utter another word. Alpha Calhoun felt insulted and looked really upset.

“If you are here to work, then you do as I say.”

Aurora might be a woman on a mission but she had her dignity to protect if her true identity was revealed.

For as long as Alphas like her father did not use any of these items, she was far from lowering herself for Calhoun, even if he saved her life and could not remember.

“Deduct it from my pay but I won’t clean this room.”

“Then you are fired,” Calhoun seethed. He had a bad temper and this was the first time any woman refused to do his bidding. Not even his fiancé could say no to him and yet, an orphan with no place to lay her head dared to do so.

Aurora paused and took a deep breath. He did not recognize her and he wasn’t who she expected him to be.

She began to contemplate if he was really the one or did she get the wrong person? Alpha Calhoun was not even wearing the crescent moon pendant but how could Aurora ask about it without making him feel suspicious of her motives?

No matter what, she was not going to lower her standards to clean those nasty play toys he has been using with those girls he labelled with alphabets.

“I honestly thought you were a respectable Alpha. I never thought you’ll fire me because of these demeaning things. I heard rumors that you are trying to bag a contract from the Dark Moon pack. What if I help you?”

Aurora was finding it difficult to speak in a humbling manner. Though she was trained to be polite, it never overshadowed her confidence. Still her request made Calhoun suspicious. “You lived all your life in the human world or so you claim so how do you know all these?”

Aurora panicked slightly. It was a week after her parents went on a vacation that the proposal came through.

She wanted to respond to it at that moment but held on to it, planning to use it for a bait later after arriving at the Crescent moon pack.

No Alpha would just accept anyone into their pack so she had planned ways of making herself valuable to the pack whiles maintaining a low profile.

“The guys who attacked me, kidnapped me first. I heard a lot of things but it seems to me that you are more interested in nonsense. Since I am fired, I have no right to stay.”

Daisy barged out of the room, swinging the door abruptly as somebody hissed. “Ouch.” It was one of the Call calls from the way she was dressed but not the C one she saw before.

“Eavesdropping his bad,” Daisy said and was descending the stairs when Alpha Calhoun ran after her.

“Wait.” Daisy paused but did not turn to face him. “Let’s renegotiate the contract,” Alpha Calhoun said.

Satisfied, Daisy turned around. “Okay.”

The call girls were ready to leave so everything turned awkward and Calhoun could not discuss with her over there.

“Let’s go to my office.”

“Alpha, the water would turn cold,” Linda said, surprised that the Alpha chose this woman over his ritual bath but Calhoun replied sternly. “Then heat it again.”

Daisy followed him to his office as the call girls gossiped. “Who is the nerdy brat? She has the Alpha wrapped around her fingers.”

The C girl retorted. “I heard the Alpha introducing her as the maid. That is all she would be.”

Linda heard their words and instructed them. “He said you should leave. Chop, chop, the maids would have to clean your foot prints.”

The girls fumed before they scurried out of the doorway.

“What do you know about that contract?” Calhoun asked Daisy, wondering if the information she gave about herself was correct.

Daisy crossed her slender legs elegantly and looked around the office.

“I heard about Sherry’s couture in the human world but before the kidnap, it was undergoing rebranding. It also means they would welcome more investors, as it’s a big name in the human world too.”

Calhoun heard briefly about it too. “I heard it was being given as a birthday gift to Alpha Nick’s only daughter, Daisy. It’s such a shame they keep her hidden. Perhaps they are ashamed of how ugly she is.”

Daisy’s teeth grinded together and the more time she spent with him, the more his unfiltered words put her off.

“Anyway, I already submitted my application a week ago but did not get a response,” Calhoun concluded.

Daisy scoffed, itchy to leave this pack but first, she would have to confirm if he indeed had that pendant. Perhaps even a picture would confirm it. “So send a follow up proposal tomorrow.”

Alpha Calhoun folded his arms to his chest. If this indeed went through, then he would want to keep Aurora by his side forever and in that case, could change her position.

“Since you wanted to be my maid and secretary, I would offer you the position of my personal assistant if this goes through. That is, attend to me. My food, bed, office maters and all and you only report to me.”

A long sigh escaped Daisy as she pointed out. “If you are giving me all these responsibilities, then I have to ask where your beta is.”

Alpha Calhoun’s face changed color from the question. “If you can’t handle it, tell me now and stop asking things that do not concern you.”

Daisy smiled but the issue of the beta, peaked her interest. She might have to befriend the house keeper or even help heal her son to get more information about this Alpha and his beta.

“Fine, you have a deal.”

There was a knock on the door and a warrior hastened into the office. “Alpha, the thief has been caught. What should we do to him?”

Alpha Calhoun’s jaws clenched in annoyance. “Throw him in the dungeon. I would deal with him later.”

Seeing the warrior staring intently at Daisy, Calhoun was greatly upset. “Do you want anything else? Is there anything on her face?”

The warrior quickly left the office.

Daisy finished the follow up contract in an hour under Alpha Calhoun’s watch at the same time he finished sending a message on his phone.

“It needs your signature.” Daisy moved around and dropped the document in front of him. After reading the content of the document, itching for mistakes and getting none, Alpha Calhoun was impressed.

“You are so good at this.”

Daisy smiled but did not respond as he signed the contract and sent it through a messenger to be delivered.

“Make sure it gets to the Dark Moon Pack before sun down tomorrow.”

“Yes Alpha.”

He said to Daisy. “Let’s go.” When they reached the room before his, he said to her. “Drop your back pack in your room and come to mine. I have to show you around.”

Daisy’s heart thumped. This was her chance to know if this was indeed her mysterious man.
