TW: Hurt Peter Parker. Stupid Rogue Avengers. Protective Tony Stark. Mentions of terrorist organizations. Kinda OOC Avengers. Siberia didn't happen but the Airport Battle did.
**********
Requested by anonymous: What about a scenario where the rogue avengers think that Peter is a spy from some terrorist organization but it is something else entirely they feel really guilty. Don't make it too angsty, please.

"I'll see you later Miss Romanoff, Mr. Barton, Mr. Rogers, Mr. Barnes, Mr. Wilson, Mr. Lang, and Miss Maximoff," Peter smiled brightly at them before disappearing down the hallway to his room.
"I'll be leaving as well," Tony said, stretching his arms and retiring to his lab.
The Rogue avengers sat in silence for a few minutes.
"Is it just me or do you not trust that Peter kid?" Scott asked suddenly.
"Oh, it's not just you Scott. He's too polite, too cheerful," Natasha said.
"Let's keep an eye on him. We shouldn't jump to conclusions. He might be one of those kids who have everything in life," Steve said.

"Hey Peter, where are you going?" Clint asked happily, noticing the teen walking to the elevator.
Peter looked up at him, startled, "Nowhere."
Clint stepped up beside him, "Oh come on, tell me, where are you going? We're friends now, right?"
Peter frowned and shook his head, "This is a personal matter, Mr. Barton. Please leave me alone."
Clint watched the boy go away silently, eyes narrowed.
**********
"Damn," Bucky whistled after listening to Clint, "That's very suspicious."
"Let's collect more information before confronting him," Sam suggested.
**********
"Hello? Hey, what's up?" Peter talked in his phone, not noticing Scott peeking through the doorway, "Yeah I have all the information about them. Yeah relax, they'll never see it coming-"
Scott was already rushing off to inform everyone of this conversation, not bothering to listen to the rest of it.
**********
"Bossypants will be happy-," Peter then noticed Wanda observing him from the doorway, "Whaaaaat? Your sister is ill? No way...," and with that Peter ran off to his room.
Wanda narrowed her eyes and stalked off angrily to speak to her teammates.
**********
"Yeah, I'll do it tomorrow. Everything is ready," Peter said to Ned, "Yeah, yeah, I'm sure Boss-man will like this-"
The door burst open. Peter started and turned around. His eyes nearly dropped out of their sockets when he saw the Rogue Avengers decked out in their battle gear.
"Who do you work for," Black Widow sneered, stalking up to him.
Peter furrowed his brows, "Mr. Stark, I think you already knew this?"
"Don't lie to us, traitor," Bucky hissed, "You're planning on doing something to us."
"I'm so confused," Peter whispered to himself.
"We were suspicious of you from the starting," Steve said in the most righteous tone he could muster, "Then we overheard you talking to someone about us never seeing it coming, and that Boss will be happy. You're using Tony, aren't you?"
Now, imagine the Rogues' surprise when instead of looking defensive or scared, Peter looked angry.
"You want to see what I was doing?" Peter said, clenching his jaw so hard it started twitching, "Follow me," he angrily stalked out of his room.
The Rogues looked at each other, then made a split-second decision and quickly followed the kid down the hallway.
**********
"This is what I was doing," Peter threw open the door of a room they had never noticed.
The Rogues stood in shock as they looked around the room decorated in lights and balloons, the walls painted in all of their favorite colors. There was a huge banner that said, 'To the Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Thank you for being you :)" in the middle. There was a bar with different kinds of liquors and beautiful paintings of them everywhere. If they looked carefully enough, they could see Peter's signature at the corner of all the paintings.
"Tomorrow is the date when you became the Avengers," a quiet voice spoke up. The Rogues looked at the small teenager guiltily. All the anger and fight seemed to have left him, "I wanted you to feel welcome and maybe reconcile because, you know, Civil War and all that," Peter said, waving his hands slightly.
"I'll just leave I guess," Peter whispered slowly after a moment, backing away, "Happy Anniversary of being the Avengers." The kid mustered a bright smile with tear-filled eyes, then ran out of the room before anyone could say anything.
"What the hell," Sam whispered, taking off his goggles and looking around the room. Even a blind person could see how much work had been put in decorating the entire room to fit all their tastes.
They all walked to the middle of the room, looking around at various things. Wanda muffled a loud sob when she saw some homemade Sokovian sweets sitting on one of the counters with a note that said, 'I hope this reminds you of home Miss Maximoff :D' The rest of the Avengers gathered around her to see what she was looking at.
"There are snacks from Russia too," Natasha said, noticing them further down the counter.
"What have we done?" Scott questioned after a moment of silence.
"What you've done is hurting the best kid you'll ever know," they heard a voice said.
Tony stood leaning against the doorway of the room, his fury-filled eyes meeting theirs.
"You know, Peter is the kindest person I know," he said, walking towards them, "Kinder than all of you combined."
Steve stepped forward, feeling a bit insulted, and said, "That's a bit of a stretch, Tony. We admit we made a mistake but..." he trailed off when Tony glared harshly at him.
"Oh really, Rogers?" Tony asked, "Well then, raise your hand if any of you ever did this. Sat down and shared a meal with a homeless person because you actually wanted to and not to gain praises from others," he raised an eyebrow when none of them raised their hands.
"Ran into a burning building- without your suit or protective gear," Tony added when he saw some of them start to raise their hands, "to save a kitten at the cost of your own life." All of their hands stayed firmly down.
"Being trained in different forms of martial arts but not fighting back to your bully because you don't want to hurt him, even though he hurts you," the Rogues seemed very interested in their shoes now.
"Funny thing is, Peter's done all of this and much more," Tony said. No one said anything.
"FRIDAY informed me of this situation, so I watched all the video footage that made you think that the best kid you'll ever meet is a spy. FRI, be a darling and show those footages to me."
A hologram popped up and it showed them the night when they first met Peter.
"Too happy, too polite huh?" Tony said, "FRIDAY, show Peter after this."
Peter walked into the bedroom and collapsed on the bed. Then, he picked up a pillow and screamed in it.
"Oh my god, oh my god. I met the Avengers. I met my heroes. They're all so kind. I met the Avengers. This is the best day of my life," Peter bounced on his bed, giggling brightly.
The footage cut off. Tony looked at all of them silently.
"Tony, the kid was acting very suspicious. One day, he wouldn't even tell me where he was going," Clint tried.
Tony raised an unimpressed eyebrow at the man, "Did you maybe think about the fact that the information might be personal and Peter might not wish to share it with you?" Without waiting for an answer, Tony raised his hand for FRIDAY, who understood what he wanted, and another hologram popped up.
Peter was walking away from Clint. Then, he entered the elevator and said, "FRI, take me to the ground floor."
"Of course Peter," the AI said, "May I ask where you are going?"
"Sure, FRIDAY. Tell Mr. Stark too if he asks. I'm going to the cemetery. I wanted to change the flowers on Uncle Ben, mum, and dad's graves."
Clint backed away, "His parents are dead?" he asked, eyes wide.
"No, definitely not Barton, he was calling some random people mum and dad and was going to change the flowers of their graves," Tony rolled his eyes.
He then faced the rest of the Rogues, frowning, "I watched all of the footages. Every time, you all heard half of the conversation and ran off to gossip. If you would have waited for one more second, you would've heard him nervously rambling to his best friend, planning this party for you. And the person who he calls all those variations of boss? That's me. I gave him a pizza in exchange for him not calling me Mr. Stark. The little shit gave me different nicknames, each one including boss in them."
He glared at all of them, "You all don't deserve all that he has done for you. He spent sleepless nights making the dishes from your homelands. Now excuse me, I need to go to my kid." He turned on his heel and stomped off, leaving the Rogues squirming guiltily.
Wanda slowly broke away from the group, walking up to the sweets set out. She carefully picked up one of them and took a bite.
"This tastes exactly as Mumma made them," she whispered, tears running down her cheeks.
"We need to apologize," Natasha said, not meeting anyone's eyes as she slowly ate the Russian snacks set out.
"We do," Bucky said, looking at the portrait of him with a handwritten note attached to it, 'You are not a villain Mr. Barnes. I have seen you looking at your metal arm in disdain and trying to hide it. Think of it this way, if a robber shoots a person, is it the person's fault for being there? No. It is the robber's fault for pulling the trigger. Now, replace the robber with Hydra and you are the person shot...
That doesn't make much sense but I think you get the intention. It wasn't your fault. It might be difficult but I hope someday you'll realize that you are a hero. A great one.'
"We definitely do," he whispered, his voice barely audible.

(A few days later, Peter walked into the living room after school only to be bombarded with apologies and a huge hug from Wanda. The room was decorated in his favorite colors and he could see Mr. Stark smirking triumphantly behind all the Rogues, eating something way too proudly, then gagging and spitting it out in the bin.)
