III.Troubles

A person have many comfort foods. Mine is desserts. Many people have desserts and ice-cream as comfort food.

I am dead is the thought running in my mind. I tried to escape the angry tiger silently growling in front of me. I slowly turned and about to run I the opposite direction when I am pulled back with a tug and collided with him.

"How dare you", he growled in my ear. I shivered with the breath of his near my ear. "You are going to regret coming in front of me. I am going to make your life hell for embarrassing me", he growled.

I trembled because of the intensity of the words. "Look Mr. I am not sorry for what I did. I did that because you disgraced me and used some crude words. I accidentally came in in front of your car because I was trying to save the dog's life. So it's not my fault that I have more humanity than you", I praised myself for not stammering in between my speech.

He left my hand. I turned around to face him and once again struck by his dreamy blue eyes. I shook my head to remove the thoughts I have about him. Focus Avni, he is your enemy though a beautiful and handsome enemy. I came out of my thoughts when heard him increase his damn voice.

"Hello are you listening to me. god! I think this girl is crazy. Maybe she escaped from an asylum", he continued.

"Hey I am not crazy and I think you are the crazy one here shouting as if I am a mile away when I am only few meters away from you", I replied to his rambling feeling myself getting angry because of his harsh words.

"How dare you call me crazy. Do you know who I am? I can make your life a hell by speaking in this way to me", he roared in front of my face.

"I don't care who you are. Even though how great you maybe I don't bow down to those who don't care about others", I snarled at him.

"Don't you dare rise your voice at me. I know your type of girls they do anything to get into the attention of rich members, seduce them and get money from them. I know how you middle class girls are", he raised his hand then some money is placed in his hand by the person who looks like a bodyguard. "Here take this money and don't try to get any other rich person by telling some crazy stories and get the hell out off my face", he shoved the money into my hands and tuned to leave.

"Mr. Goenka, wait a minute", I replied and approached him. I placed the money in his hands.

"I think you are gonna need this more than I do", I replied in a sweet voice . I saw his face morph into confusion. I took a step back, took the stone and threw it at his windshield. The glass broke into million pieces because of the force I used.

He was shocked would be an understatement. His mouth was parted with awe. I should leave before the beast comes to his senses and get angry on me. I carefully lifted my bike ignoring the pain and started it.

"Bye Mr. Goenka, hope to never see you in my life", I gave my farewell and didn't turn back and left that place feeling satisfied with myself that I made the jerk taste his own medicine.

I stopped at mechanic shop and gave him the bike because of the damage caused to it. He told me that it may take a day to repair the bike so I left it there and called my bestfriend Akshaya. She was shocked by seeing me would be an understatement. She took me to the hospital for getting my hand checked after convincing her that I'll tell her everything.

After reaching the hospital the doctor checked my hand and told me that it's just a sprain and will reduce in two days. He gave me some spray to apply and some painkillers to reduce the pain. We reached bakery and Anu almost had an heart attack after i told her about my accident. She didn't allow me to work and kept Akshaya as my bodyguard from preventing me from doing it.

"You know Akky (Akshaya), I used to feel that Goenka is very good in humanity and even hospitable to others. But that crazy one treats everyone as his slaves and you know he even gave me money telling me that I'm following him for his attention. What a crazy man he is? ", I went on rambling about him to Akshaya.

"Wow madam! Wait a minute. Which Goenka are you talking about?", Akky questioned me stopping my rambling.

"Who what? That monkey Goenka, Abhi Goenka", I grumbled with disgust and started eating the pastry in front of me.

"Ooo. I thought that you have a crush on him considering how you spoke about him as if you worship him", Akky stated after hearing that monkey's name.

"No! I don't have a crush on that chimpanzee. I respect him for his work ok, not for his looks. I admire him for his knowledge in business that's it. But now he lost that respect I have on him for the harsh words he spoke", I replied to her.

"I agree. But I know you so you must have done something crazy to provoke him", Akky gave me a I know you better than me look.

I took a deep breath and gave her the answer."I might have crashed into his car, threw mud cake at him and finally broke his windshield", I counted my fingers. On seeing Akky's expression I burst out laughing.

"Avni it's not a laughing matter. You insulted him in public. Do you know what he can do to you?", Akky shouted.

"Hey, calm down nothing will happen to me ok. Don't spoil your mood. Now cheer up babe!", I exclaimed.

"Ok. But if you face any problem from him tell me. We will think of something, ok", Akky replied.

"Ok. Now you don't tell a word about it to Anu. She will be easily worried about it", I practically begged her. She nodded in positive that this news will not reach Anu. We had a good time conversing about random things.

"Shit! I need to go now babe. I want cake done by tomorrow afternoon ok. Don't forget about tomorrow's party . See you later bitch", Akky left me by myself.

There is a party tomorrow. She begged me to make a cake for the party. But I can't now considering my arm is hurting, I'm going to need all the help to make it. There is going to be a big party tomorrow. There parents are organizing it for some business purpose and it's also my birthday tomorrow. It is a masquerade party. I'm going to meet all the rich and stuck up people tomorrow, yaay me.I went to the kitchen and started rummaging to find the ingredients to prepare her cake. I decided to start making cake.

"Anu can you send anyone here who is free. I need to complete cake for Akky's party till tomorrow afternoon", I asked Anu when I saw her enter the kitchen.

"I'll send Priya. Now young lady don't strain yourself and ask for help if needed. Your hand need some rest", Anu stated and sent Priya a worker at bakery to help me.

"Priya, we need to prepare pineapple cake of 4 tires with cheese cream. We need to make some cupcakes and macaroons", I told her.

Priya nodded her head and went to work. I got my left hand hurt and took my painkillers so I felt less pain, so I helped her in getting the batter ready. We left the cake in the oven to bake and started making the icing and required shapes to decorate the cake. After the cakes are done Priya placed the icing in between the layers of the cake and covered it with fondant. We left the cake and started working on cupcakes. We made vanilla flavored batter and baked it in the oven. We made the icing. Remaining workers came and helped us completing the cupcakes. We made some macaroons too. We left the work and retired for bed.

Next day we started early and completed all the remaining work. I asked others to deliver the order and went home to get ready. I took a blue colour dress and did some basic makeup. Anu is still in bakery. I got into the cab and gave the address of the venue. The car came to halt after 30 minutes.

"Thanks bhayya (a way of treating elders)", I told the driver. I got down the cab and gave him the money.

I went inside the venue. It is a resort. The decorations are made in the garden. I went near the manager and asked him to do some changes regarding seating arrangement, some lights. I went into kitchen and saw food arrangements. I asked them to place the cakes in their places. I took a tray of cupcakes and went to place them in their place when I bumped into a person and tray fell down. All the frosting went into my dress and some on the stranger too. I lifted my head to see who the person is and got shocked.

"You?", we both spoke at the same time. Not this Abhi Goenka again.

"Do you have a habit of bumping into people?" Mr. Goenka growled.

"Sorry Mr. it is not my fault that people come and bump into", I groaned. I bent down to pick the tray and cupcakes.

"You have a nice ass and you look so sexy on your knees", Mr. Goenka groaned.

The words pissed me off. I took the remaining frosting in my hand and rubbed it all over his face.

"You look better now as a joker compared to your previous face monkey", I growled and turned to leave. But he caught my wrist and pulled me towards him. My face got bumped into his chest. My nose hurts with the force I got bumped. I removed my face from his chest and scowled at him. He gave me smug look and took some frosting from his face with his fingertip. He applied it over my lower lip and kept it into his mouth and sucked on it while looking straight into my eyes. He hover above my lips to kiss me when I heard my phone ring, I broke out of it and left the place running. What happened to me? I almost let that person have my first kiss. What is happening to my heart. I mentally questioned myself. I broke out of my thoughts when my phone rang again. I shook my head to clear the thoughts, took deep breaths and answered the call.

"Bitch where are you", came my best friend's voice before I answered the call.

"I am coming to your room. Just give me a minute", I replied to her and cut the call. I went in search of her room. I reached her room and knocked on the door. Akky opened the door and I went inside.

"Babe what happened to you", Akky exclaimed in shock by seeing the state of my dress.

"Nothing just some frosting", I replied sulking.

"Ok, now go to washroom and change into the dress ", Akky replied. She handed me my dress, when I'm about to leave she hugged me from backwards. " Happy birthday Avni", she whispered in my ears.

"You remembered", I whispered brokenly.

"Yes I remembered. You are not only my friend but my sister. Now go and get ready", Akky replied to me.

I went into washroom and took a bath. I took out the royal green colour ball gown with gold lace design on it. It is off-shoulder dress. I carefully wore that dress and came out. Akky was already dressed and ready for the party in her black off-shoulder dress with hint of gold in it.

"Wow! You are looking beautiful", Akky exclaimed. "Now come and sit here I'll do your makeup and hair", she made me sit on the vanity chair.

She did my hair in sometime of bun and let some tendrils fall in front of my face. She did my makeup and gave my eyes smokey look. She applied dark green eye shadow and some nude pink lipstick.

"You are a princess Avni", Akky exclaimed after seeing me.

"Avi, you look so pretty. I wish your mom is here to see you become this beautiful lady", Anu exclaimed after seeing me with tears in her eyes. She wore a beautiful pink saree.

I hugged her tightly. "Come on Anu. Don't be sad now. You are making me cry", I whispered to her.

"Ok. Don't cry now. I wish no evil force will cause harm to you and happy birthday princess", Anu replied to me and kissed on my forehead and kept black dot on the side of my neck.

"Anu, I'll leave now you come at the time when party starts", I replied and turned to leave when her words stop me.

"You know what today is also right. It's your parents death anniversary and the day you get your rights", Anu reminded me.

"No Anu, I'll never forget the day my parents died and I know what will happen today. I am ready for it", I replied to her by clenching my jaw.

"Ok now shall we leave for the party. And dadi (grand mother) you too come and join the party", Akky replied and placed the gold mask which has feather like things over my face. Akky took another mask. It is simple lace mask. It is silver in colour and have some black in it.

I was about to argue with her about the mask but thought better of it. And we left for the party waving bye for Anu.
