A Forever Kind of Love
Between Hearbeats
The sun was setting, painting the sky in warm shades of orange and pink, as Meera stood on the balcony, staring at the horizon. The wind played with her hair, but her mind was elsewhere.
She knew something was different about today. Abhishek had been acting strange. Not the usual prank-war, playful kind of strangeâa different kind. A little nervous. A little too careful.
And that made her suspicious.
âThinking about me?â
She turned to see Abhishek leaning against the doorframe, smirking as usual.
She rolled her eyes. âYou wish, Sharma.â
But he just smiled and walked toward her, sliding his hands into his pockets like he always did when he was hiding something.
Meera narrowed her eyes. âAlright. Spill it.â
âWhat?â
âYouâre acting weird.â
Abhishek raised an eyebrow. âMeera, when am I not weird?â
âFair point.â She crossed her arms. âBut this is a different weird.â
For a second, he just looked at herâhis usual teasing expression softening into something gentler.
Then, without a word, he held out his hand.
âCome with me.â
Meera hesitated. âWhere?â
âYouâll see.â
â
The Surprise of a Lifetime
Abhishek drove without explaining a thing.
Meera kept interrogating him, but he just turned up the radio and pretended not to hear her.
âAbhiââ
âShh.â
âI swear, if this is another prankââ
âRelax, Detective Meera. Just wait.â
After a while, the car slowed down, pulling into a quiet, beautifully lit garden. Twinkling fairy lights hung from the trees, the soft glow reflecting off the small lake nearby. It was breathtaking.
Meeraâs eyes widened. âWhat is this?â
Abhishek scratched the back of his head. âYou once said you wanted something simple but beautiful for⦠you know. A proposal.â
Her heart stopped.
She turned to face him. âAbhishekââ
But before she could say another word, he was already kneeling.
Not with some big speech. Not with over-the-top theatrics. Just him, looking up at her with that small, nervous smileâthe one she rarely saw but loved more than anything.
âIâm not good at this stuff,â he admitted, voice steady but soft. âIâm not the guy who makes big romantic speeches or grand gestures. But what I do know is⦠I love you. And I want to spend my life making sure you never have to fight alone, never have to drink bad tea, and never have to doubt how much I care.â
Meeraâs throat tightened.
He took a deep breath. âSo⦠will you marry me?â
For the first time in her life, Meera couldnât speak.
Instead, she just nodded furiously, before practically tackling him into a hug.
Abhishek laughed, catching her easily.
âIâll take that as a yes?â
She pulled back just enough to cup his face. âYou idiot. Itâs a hell yes.â
â
The Wedding Chaos
If anyone thought their wedding would be a normal, peaceful affair, they clearly didnât know them.
From Rohit dramatically fake crying during the vows to Virat threatening Abhishek with a bat one last timeâit was absolute madness.
Meera tripped on her own lehenga twice walking down the aisle.
Abhishek panicked when he couldnât find the ringâonly to realize Meera had stolen it just to mess with him.
And when the priest said, âYou may now kiss the bride,â Ishan yelled, âGET A ROOM!â
But through all the laughter, the teasing, the absolute chaosâ
They were them.
And that was perfect.
â
Happily Ever After (With Pranks, Of Course)
Marriage didnât change them.
Abhishek still left his coffee mugs everywhere.
Meera still stole his jackets.
The prank wars never ended.
But now, they had a lifetime to annoy each other.
And reallyâ
That was the best kind of love.
The End (Or The Beginning).
