Chapter 267
The Love From Vengeance
267 FIRM ON IT âAriel, just listen to me. This vengeance may have consequences later.â
âI donât care about the consequences. Iâm just going to make sure Mason gets what he deserves.â
âYouâre seriously going to kill him? Youâre not even thinking of changing your mind?â
âWhy should I?â
âBecause I donât want anything bad to happen to you.â
âOr, you donât want anything bad to happen to your brother.â
âWell, that is true. But you, especially.â
âOh really?â I raised my brows in disbelief.
âYes, think of it. If you kill Mason, the cops are going to start searching for his murderer. And who knows? They might get to know that youâre the one behind his death. And with that, youâre going straight to jail.â
I chuckled. âYou think I donât know all that?â
âThen why do you want to do this?â
THE SIGHT FROM THERE ARIELâS POV Itâs It for my son, of course. That Innocent soul is gone, all because of that scumbag. And trust me, Iâm going to make him pay. I donât care about the consequences, André. Masón deserves to die, and no one is going to stop me from carrying out my revenge.â
Andreâs eyes widened in shock. âAriel, you canât do this. You canât be a monster like Mason. Youâll regret it later.â
âI wonât regret it. He killed my son, André. He destroyed our family. I wonât rest until he pays for his sins.â
âYou donât have to kill him to make him pay. Let the law handle it.â
I shook my head. âThe law canât bring back my son. The law canât give me closure. Mason must die.â
âAnd what about you? What will happen to you if you get caught? Have you thought about that?â
I shrugged. âI donât care. Iâll take whatever punishment comes my way. As long as Mason is dead, Iâll be at peace.â
âYouâre not thinking straight, Ariel. Please, donât do this.â
âIâve made up my mind, André. Nothing you say will change it.â
âAnd what about our friendship? Will you throw that away, too, for the sake of revenge?â
âItâs not about our friendship, André. Itâs about justice. And I wonât let anyone stand in my way.â
Before Andre could respond, a nurse walked into the room. âExcuse me, I came to check on the patient.â
Andre looked at me with a pleading expression. âPlease, Ariel. Think about it. Donât do something youâll regret.â
I gave him a small smile. âTake care, Andre.â With that, I left the room, leaving Andre and the nurse behind.
As I walked down the hospital hallway, I couldnât help but think about what André said. Was I really becoming a monster like Mason? But then I remembered the pain and suffering he caused me, and all doubts disappeared, Mason must pay for his actions.
After leaving the hospital, I walked to my car. I brought my keys out of my purse, and just as I was about to open the car, my phone started ringing. It was a video call from Luke.
answered the call, and right on the screen, I saw Janice. Sitting next to her was Luke and they both had big smiles on their faces.
Mommy, where are you?â Janice asked, smiling at the screen. âAre you at the hospital?â
âYes, I came to see your uncle, Andre.â
Ohhh, Uncle André! Heâs still at the hospital.â
âYes, Janice. Remember he was badly wounded?â
âI do remember. So when are you coming back?â
âIâm on my way now. You miss me already?â
âOf course, I miss you, Mommy. And you can just guess what happened.â
âWhat?â I asked her, smiling.
âDaddy and I played video games. Iâm still bad at it, but heâs giving me some tips.â
I laughed. âWow, thatâs so nice.â
âYes, it is! Please come as soon as possible. Iâm hungry.â
âYouâre hungry?â
Janice nodded.
Ay âWhy donât you tell one of the helpers there to prepare breakfast for you?â
âNo, mommy. I want to eat only food. I want to taste only your dish.â
I couldnât help but laugh softly. âOkay, sweetheart. Iâll be with you anytime soon.â
The call ended, and I just stood still for a few seconds, smiling. But my eyes caught someone from afar, and she was also staring at me with that horrific look on her face, which was filled with bruises and scars.
We both kept staring at each other, not putting an end to the gaze. Her eyes burned with rage, but they were nowhere near mine; they shouldnât even be compared. Just by recalling what she did, the hate only compounded.
And, of course, you know who Iâm talking about. Itâs Harriet, the goddamn fool, who didnât even deserve to be breathing. The goodâforânothing idiotic idiot. Oh fuck! I was so upset seeing her; 1 was just saying things at the moment.
Harrietâs glare changed into a demonic smirk, and then she walked away. In case you were wondering, she was wearing a hoodie, so her face was covered to some extent.
