Chapter 816
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
The ward was a mess. There were shattered objects on the floor, which Madelyn caused. There was even a pool of blood on the floor, which the nurses were cleaning.
Madelyn was somewhat conscious. Her hospital gown was stained with blood, and she appeared extremely weak. Zach thought, âIâd only been away for a short while. How did she become like this?â
Zach felt a pain in his heart that he had never experienced.
Madelynâs breathing was rapid. She struggled and managed to free her hands, âI said I donât want the surgery. Let go of me!â The nurses were holding her hands down.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Zach approaching from the door. She coldly said, âYou get out. I donât want to see you.â
Zach stood by the bedside. His emotions were unclear as he said, âListen to the doctor and have the surgery.â
Madelyn looked at him and sneered, âThen, Iâll curse myself so I wonât make out from the operating table alive.â
She saw a hint of pain flash past Zachâs eyes. She thought, âIs he sad because Iâm about to die?â
Madelyn found it ironic. She never believed Zach was a person with emotions.
He responded, âDonât say such things from now on. Youâll get better.â
Madelyn replied, âAre you saying this to comfort me or yourself? Nobody knows my body better than I doâ¦
âZach Jardin, if I die one day, Iâll curse you⦠Everyone who loves you will leave, one by oneâ¦
âAnd youâll end up living a lonely life and die alone.â Madelyn did not manage to say this next sentence because the sedative took effect, and she was unconscious.
When everyone heard what she said, no one said a word.
âEverything is ready,â said the nurse who had arrived, handing over the tools to cut off Madelynâs hair to the head nurse beside her.
The head nurse nervously approached Zach and said, âMr. Jardin, before the surgery, we need to shave Ms. Jentâs hair and draw blood through her skull. If we donât shave it, we canât perform the surgery.â
Now, Zach could only do what he wanted when Madelyn was asleep. He responded, âIâll do it. You all can leave.â
The head nurse hesitated but/eventually agreed, âOkay. But please keep it within fifteen. minutes.â
Zach had been staring unwaveringly at Madelynâs face the whole time. After everyone left the ward, they closed the door to give them the private space.
âIâll make sure you live well.â Zach picked up the scissorsâ¦
Whether it was Madelynâs hair or her entire body, she was exquisitely attractive in every aspect.
Her hair was still carrying the fragrance of shampoo. When Madelyn was unconscious, it was Zach who cleaned her.
He knew she liked cleanliness. However, when she was in a bad mood or when she had depressive episodes, she would make a mess of herself and let herself goâ¦
Twelve minutes later, the floor was covered in Madelynâs long hair, which she had maintained for many years. Now, all of it had been cut off.
He carried her as he walked out of the ward. He felt she was almost weightless.
The nurses outside the ward had already got the gurney ready. Zach gently placed her down and asked, âHow long will the surgery take?â
âIt may take at least two to three hoursâ¦â The head nurse did not dare to speak too definitively.
Everyone knew Madelynâs condition well. She could only say some words of comfort, âMr. Jardin, donât worry. Ms. Jent will be blessed with a positive outcome.â
Zach watched as Madelyn was wheeled into the operating roomâ¦
At that moment, Kevin stepped out of the elevator. He reported behind Zach, âMr. Jardin, Ms. Samford has been taken away.â
Zach asked, âBy who?â
