Chapter 634
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
Zach picked up the photo that had fallen out of Madelynâs book. He looked at the photo and narrowed his eyes.
âWhyâd you come to the hospital without asking me first?â he asked Cecilia in a cold tone.
Zach stood up and looked at her.
His presence was intimidating, but Cecilia wasnât scared. She smirked, âWhy? Scared Iâd hurt her? Iâm here for you, not her.â
âDonât forget what you promised me! Iâm going to be your wife. Youâd be lost without me,â she added, âJust stay out of my business, Zach replied.
âListen, Zach! If you go to her, I can take away my shares in the company. Donât forget who helped you get where you are,â Cecilia shouted as he walked away.
But Zach just kept going.
Cecilia felt stressed. âThings are so different now. Jadleâs still alive, Madelyn Isnât with Zach, and I hate making threats, but I had no choice. Zach was never someone who feared threats. In fact⦠Heâd get rid of those who threatened him,â she thought.
She began to doubt if this was the same Zach she loved before. He felt so different to her.
âIn our past life, Zach would never show any mercy toward Madelyn. Does he need a reminder of whoâs really on his side? Jadie should be gone. And Yvonne shouldnât be with him. Theyâre in my way,â she thought.
Madelyn returned to her hospital room and packed her things into a bag. Meanwhile, Zachâs gaze followed her as she moved around.
He spoke up, âShe just wanted to talk about work.â
Madelyn answered, âWhat you two talk about isnât my business. Iâve got to get back to the studio. I donât have time for this.â
As she tried to leave, Zach stopped her, âLet me know when youâre done. Iâll come get you.â
âNo need!â
Suddenly, Zachâs face became grim. âMadelyn, I donât want to force you, but thatâs only⦠If you listen to me.â
âYou know what I can do, right?â he continued.
Madelyn looked up, a touch of fear in her eyes. âI really have to go. And I donât know when Iâll be done, so you donât need to wait.â
Zachâs eyes grew sharp. âDidnât you hear me?â
Avoiding his gaze, Madelyn replied softly, âIâll call when Iâm finished.â
Zach gently touched her hair, smiling. âGood. Iâll drop you off.â
She felt trapped by his influence and was tired of fighting it.
Zach helped her with the discharge process and drove her to the studio.
âThis is it. Thank you,â Madelyn unbuckled the seatbelt. She tried to open the door, but it was locked.
Then, Zach reached out and slid his fingers into her hair. He leaned over and kissed her on the lips.
She wanted to push him away but held back.
After the kiss ended, Madelyn opened the door an
