~CHAPTER 5~

*•*•*•Bye, bye, Case•*•*•*

May and I started talking while doing the practice as instructed, and she's really fucking cool. I invited her to have lunch with me, I don't think she knows I'm also eating with Lizzie though. Oh well, we'll see how that goes. She told me that everybody already knew who I was when I entered math class because apparently some boy from Frederickson hall took a picture of me entering a room with all my suit cases and all that shit. Right, now we're on our way to the locker room to change for lunch. We're just talking about random shit.

"Oh God, I'm starving." I say groaning while letting my head fall back.

"Same." She pats her stomach.

"By the way, we're also eating with another girl if you don't mind."

"Sure, the person I was having lunch with blew me off anyways. Who is she?"

"Her name is Elizabeth; do you know her?"

"Oh yeah, I know her, I think she's in my Drama class." She says.

"So, let me get ready and we'll head there. Then you can show me where it is. Liz gave me a tour, but I don't remember too well."

"Okay, I'll wait for you outside." I nod and she leaves.

I finish changing into my amazing keds and tube socks, looking fabulous as always, and head out. Once I'm out I see May standing by the door. I gave her a nod indicating her to lead the way to the dining hall. We get to the dining hall and start to talk while we wait in line. We get our food and go sit down. I see Liz enter the dining hall, and I wave her over so she can join us.

"Hello, love, sorry I was late. A teacher asked for my assistance." She looks at May and then at me. "Hello, my name is Elizabeth." She says and extends her hand so May can shake it.

"Uhm- yeah I know who you are, you're in my Drama class. I'm May Pierce."

"Oh, that's right, what a wanker I am."

We start to talk about random stuff and I thank God they got along. We finish eating and we start to make our way out of the dining hall. Just as we are leaving, I crash into someone.

"Oops, I'm sorry." I look up to see who I crashed into, and see Max. He looks down and smiles at me.

"Yeah, it's okay." I smile at him and from the corner of my eye I see the girls holding onto each other while smiling. I roll my eyes and look at Max giving me a curious look.

"I'll see you around Max."

"Yeah, yeah, I'll see you around." I smiled at him and started walking out of the dining hall.

When we walk out of the dining hall, the girls stop and stand in front of me.

"What's wrong?"

"How in heavens name do you know, Maximus Godfrey?" Lizzie said. I rolled my eyes because I knew this was going to happen.

"I met him on Friday at the soccer field, I was blowing off some steam and he found me playing." I shrug and they look at me like I just said something illegal.

"Nuh uh- don't shrug your shoulders like it's nothing. That's freaking Maximus Godfrey you talked to." May said shaking her head.

"He's just a guy. What's the problem if I talk to him?"

"That is Maximus Godfrey, the ex-boyfriend of Vanessa Evergreen, the Queen Bee of the school." What the fuck does this school have with giving labels to people? Chase is the richest person in the school, the mother fucker from math class throws some hella good parties, and now I have to deal with this. "And he's also the captain of the soccer team. So, he's pretty popular."

"He's just a-." Lizzie puts her finger up to shut me up. Then she speaks.

"He's not just some guy, Maddie. He's Maximus Godfrey, one of the most popular guys in school."

"Fine, I understand he's not just some guy, he's one of the most popular." I say, tired of this conversation. "Now, can we go to wherever it is the seniors go after lunch, until it's the next class?"

"Sure, to the soccer field." May said pointing a finger in the direction of the soccer field.

"What do you guys do in the soccer field?" I asked and May smirked.

"You'll see." She said and Lizzie laughed a little.

After a solid 5 minutes, we get to the soccer field and see a bunch of seniors siting in the bleachers, and on the grass. We go sit at the bleachers and some people start playing soccer.

"So, you watch boys play soccer?" I said raising a confused eyebrow.

"Practically, but these are the boys from the soccer team. At the end, some of them take their shirts off, so we get to see a game and a show." May said smiling a little and I laugh at her.

I see Chase go out to the field, and start to play with everybody, he's pretty good. Max suddenly enters the soccer field and starts to play. It looks like he's looking for someone until his eyes land on me. He waves me over and I shake my head. He keeps signaling me to go but I mouthed 'no' to him, he then starts coming my way.

"Come on, show us what you got." Max said smiling at the end.

"You already know what I got, and you knowing is enough"

"Okay, how about a challenge?" I raised an eyebrow

"What type of challenge?" I said leaning in.

"Okay, we make two teams. If the team I'm in wins, you try out for the team, and if the team you're on wins, I'll stop bothering you about joining the team."

"Okay, but only if you promise to actually stop." I decide to participate in this challenge.

"Cross my heart and hope to die." He says.

"Okay then, let's go." He starts walking to the field, and I start taking off my keds, my tie and unbutton one of the buttons on my shirt, so I can move around more.

"You're really doing that?" May asked while grabbing my tie and my keds.

"Yeah, why not?" I ask. I start walking down the bleachers and onto the field.

"Good luck." Lizzie yells from the top of the bleachers.

"There she is." Max says and points to me. All heads turn my way and I now realized I'm the only girl that is going to play. Awesome.

"We're playing with her?" Chase asks a little annoyed.

"Yes, we are. She's really good." Max says.

"Yeah, but I'm only playing so Max can leave me alone. Isn't that right, Max?" I turn to look at him and he nods.

"That's right." He says and gets a quarter out of his pocket. "Call it." He throws the quarter in the air.

"Heads." I say at the same time Chase says "Tails."

"Tails." Max looks at the coin in his palm.

Max picks the people he wants in his team, and I pick mine. We start playing and we start of well. I made a goal and Max made one as well. We started the second round, and while run to my goal, I see Chase is free, he signals me to send him the ball and I do. He starts kicking the ball towards the goal and the guys start to close in on him. I start running closer and closer to the goal. I signal him to send me the ball and he does.

I start running faster towards the goal and see that the guys are getting closer to me. If I shoot now, there's no way it'll make it, but if I don't, they could win. I do it with very little faith in myself, but when I look at the goal, I notice that I made the shot. It's as if the world started to go in slow motion, we all watched the ball fly towards the goal, the goalie jumped trying to stop the ball, but it was too late, the ball had already gone in.

I gasped when I saw the ball go in, as did everybody else. I could hear the girls cheer for me, the world returned to its original pace, and I get attacked by the girls. They knock me over and the three of us fall on the grass. We start laughing and stand up. May hands me my shoes and Liz gave me my tie. I buttoned the shirt again, and put on my tie, then I put on my keds.

"Victory!" I raised my hands and laughed a little. The girls look behind me and I turn around to see Max and the boys coming over.

"You won." Max said.

"You gonna leave me alone now?" I asked and he laughed.

"Yeah, you won fair and square." He laughed a little.

"Okay then, goodbye." The girls and I start walking out of the soccer field.

"Darling, you were amazing out there." Liz said while hugging me.

"Thanks, Liz."

"Hey, Madelyn." I hear footsteps behind us and turn around to be faced with Chase.

"Yes Case?" I say his name porously wrong

"It's Chase." He corrects me

"I know." I say covering my eyes a little because the sun is bothering me.

"Anyways, he's right. You're good, and you should try out for the team. Try outs are next Monday, by the way." I nod and he smirks.

"No." I smile sarcastically at him and his smirk fades. I turn around and start walking to the school, again. "Bye, bye Case."

"You're too much, girl." May says shaking her while laughing.

"Yet, I did so little." I said laughing along with her.

Hey guy's, I'm sorry but I'm only posting one chapter today. I didn't have much time to write chapter six, but don't worry, its coming next week!
