~CHAPTER 38~

Addie: Anyways yeah we did have a conversation last night or well early this morning. It was supper long and cute. You told me that I could braid your hair when I got back and that we would have a supper secret girl's night without the playing 'Charlie, Charlie' part.

Me: But a supper secret girl's night is nothing without 'Charlie, Charlie' what will we ever do?

Addie: We could always play another soul summoning game, I heard 'Scary Mary' is fun, and this one doesn't require any hard to find materials like paper and pencils or pens.

Me: that's right only a dark room, a candle and a mirror.

Addie: Yes! You know the basics, that means I won't need to take you to 'Summoning souls 101' its surprisingly a very uncommon class I had always thought that more people would be into soul summoning.

Me: A real shame. And, excuse you, I'm practically an expert at this, I have seven sisters remember? They all have friends, and I always end up being sucked into supper secret girl's nights, by the way you can't tell Shana that Tamera was at the last one or both Tamera and my sister will kill me.

Addie: What's the tea sis? Spill it hon or I'll cut you.

Me: Let's stop here, because it's getting out of hand. Now did I really speak with you last night?

Addie: Yes you did. And since I got you here, we're at our first stop. Now that I think about it, we've been talking for a long time and I don't know for how long the three musketeers have been gone. I should go in and check on them.

Addie: Wait the three musketeers are back. Ooh and they come bearing snacks. Talk to you later Bugsy.

Me: Bugsy?

Addie: Yup bye!

I climb out of the taxi when I approach my house. The taxi driver opens the trunk and gets out taking my suitcase out of the trunk. I thank him and hand him the money. Dragging my suitcase up the gravely pathway I enter my key to the door and open it. I see my little sister walking upstairs looking down at a notebook she has in her hands most probably studying.

"No welcome home? I thought I was your favorite sibling." Zoey looks up from the hallway floor upstairs. She sees me and squeals running down the stairs.

"Chase!" Zoey yells.

"Hey Zoe." I say dropping my stuff and hugging her tightly.

"Why the hell don't you call?" she pushes me away and a look of shock no doubt covered my face.

"When the hell did you start to swear?" I mean I knew it would happen but why so soon. She's the most innocent of them all.

"It's never been illegal to swear so why can't I." She rolls her eyes and scoffs.

"Whoa okay chill. I was just asking since you're only twelve." I put up my hands in defense.

"Yeah well my friends are twelve too and they swear like sailors."

"Don't do everything your friends do or all of you will start to share a brain cell and you have far too much potential to be sharing a brain cell with Camille."

"Ha ha, hilarious."

"Who corrupted you? It better have not been a boy or for a boy."

"Chill out dad."

"Seriously I mean it. Don't swear it's bad for the throat. It make you age faster." I say scrambling her hair and taking my shoes off before taking my suitcases upstairs where I know the rest of my sisters are. They are probably all with their headphones on listening to their music too loud like they always do. God I do sound like a dad.

I drop my stuff in my room and start making my way to my twin's room. I knock on the door and don't hear a come in. Oh she definitely has her headphones on. I enter her room and like I said she was wearing her headphones reading a book. She doesn't notice me too immerged in her book. I walk over to her and lay next to her. I take the book from her and she was about to protest but then she sees it's me.

"Twilight?  Really aren't you tired of reading this book?" I shake my head in fake disappointment. She takes off her headphones and starts hitting me.

"Ow, ow. Stop hitting me." I say grabbing her writs.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" she asks her glasses almost falling from her face before she pushes them up.

"I thought that you guys were expecting me for Thanks Giving."

"No, I mean, yes. But what are you doing here? I thought you got in on Tuesday."

"Yeah well I lied. I'm happy I left today because my roommate left yesterday and I was getting lonely."

"What about your friends?"

"Lucas left the day before yesterday to Australia, and Cole left with my roommate for thanks giving because his family already had plans."

"Cole's gay? Damn I never imagined that happening." Where the hell did she get that impression?

"What? No. Cole's not gay." I shake my head and she looks at me confused.

"But you said Cole left with your roommate."

"Yeah... to my roommates house."

"Why else would your roommate take Cole to meet his family unless he likes Cole?" She asks and I sigh closing my eyes. I forgot I never told them.

"I didn't tell you guys." I sit up and she frowns.

"What."

"My new roommate is a she. She invited Cole to her house along with her best friends because well she knew that their parents had other plans and because Maddie just that kind of person." I smile at the thought of Maddie.

"A girl roommate?" She asks smirking and I shake my head standing up already knowing where this was headed.

"I'm not getting into this with you."

"Oh come on when we were little you used to tell me about all the girl that you liked."

"I don't like Addie." I shake my head.

"Addie?"

"I meant, Maddie."

"You have a nickname for her. That's so adorable." I start walking out of her room with her following closely behind as I start to make my way to my other sisters' rooms. I enter Bailey's room and she looks up obviously feeling the door having been opened. A huge smile overtaking her face and she jumps up and hugs me crying.

"Aww bails don't cry."

"I missed you, asshole." She says hugging me tighter.

"Why couldn't you react like bails?" I ask my twin and she shrugs.

"Because you took my book away from me."

"Big baby."

"Ass."

"Brat."

"I don't like your face."

"Yeah well I don't like yours."

"You calling me ugly?"

"Here is where we draw the line." Bailey says stepping away from me. "So what's new in life?"

"He got a girlfriend." Charlotte says leaning against Bails' dresser.

"No I didn't. Shut up."

"Her name is Maddie, I'm guessing short for Maddison, and he calls her Addie." Charlotte continues making me glare at her.

"My personal life is none of you guys' business. So please let's drop it."

"Fine I just have one question."

"As long as it's not about Maddie."

"Why do you like her?"

"I don't like her."

"Yeah, yeah." Charlotte says pushing me out of the room her, Bailey and Zoey leading me downstairs. "Have you said hello to mom yet?"

"No. she in the kitchen?"

"That she is. Isabella is with her. So two birds, one stone. Or in this case. Two Hudson's and one son." I enter the kitchen without the girl and mom's back is facing me so I take that as an opportunity and grab Isabella.

"Mom why did you let this baby grow?" Mom shrieks jumping out of fright dropping a spoon in the process.

"The internet said something about letting your kids grow or something like that. It's supposedly good for them." She says and comes over hugging me. She cries into my shirt and I chuckle.

"Mom don't cry."  Isabella laughs and I laugh with her. "I know she's funny, but we don't laugh at mom we laugh with her so when she laughs you laugh okay?"

"Is dad here?" I ask and she shakes her head.

"No he's at work."

"I'm going to have to say hello to him when he gets home." I say and stick Isabella in the air making a funny face making her laugh. "I love this kid. She's always happy. And her happiness is contagious."

Mom smiles and nods going back to cooking.

...

"Mom have you seen my phone?" I ask looking all over the living room for my phone. I wanted to check up on Maddie.

"Four hours in and you already lost your phone to one of your sisters?" She says chuckling and I groan. "Yep I think the last time I saw your phone. Zoey had it."

"Feels good to be home." I say going up the stairs but not before I hear mom laugh making me smile. I go to Zoey's and Bailey's room seeing Bailey holding a phone. "Bailey? Is that my phone?" She looks my way before turning to the phone.

"Oh shit. Gotta run. You got a nice voice by the way." She says to whoever is on the other side of the phone. She stands up and hands me the phone. "She has a nice voice." She whispers to me and I chuckle wondering who she was talking to. I lift my phone to the 'Addie' written on the screen.

"Princess?" I ask walking out of their room and down the stairs. I make it to the last step and grab my shoes from where I left them at the door and put them on walking outside.

"I wish. Then I would be loaded." My girl responds making me smile.

My girl what the fuck was that?

"Funny. What's up?" I sit on the porch swing.

"I'm sorry to inform you, you called me." I groan sliding a hand down my face.

"Fuck I'm sorry, the girls have no respect for my stuff."

"It's okay, I got to hear some juicy stuff, I mean your sisters breathing? Top notch and that last phrase she said?  I believe it was 'Oh shit. Gotta run.' Best part of the entire call. And of course the voice compliment touched my heart. Nobody has ever told me that I have a nice voice."

"I'm glad you enjoyed the call."

"I totally did. Oh this reminds me. Did you change my ringtone?" I chuckle nodding even though she can't see me.

"How does that remind you of an enjoyed call?"

"Because I enjoyed the ringtone."

"Really?" I get excited for a second before she laughs.

"Fuck no. Who would enjoy 'I Like Big Butts' as their ringtone?"

"Sir Mix-a-lot." I smirk already seeing the smile on her face.

"You're enjoying this aren't you?"

"Well of course."

"What state are you in right now?" I ask making her pause before saying.

"We're currently in Colorado. We're in a motel actually. Mom called me right after we had finished our conversation. She wanted us to stay in a hotel. Due to budgets we are staying in a motel instead of a hotel."

"Smart. Hey if you see a mole-man make sure to take pictures."

"I said Colorado not Manhattan, New York. And the motel looks decent."

"I'm sure."

"Don't be mean or I'm ending this conversation."

"You wouldn't." I gasp.

"Maybe I would, maybe I wouldn't. Anyways I..."

"Maddie we're on the first floor room six." I hear Cole's voice say sounding far.

"Okay." She yells at Cole before speaking again. "Hey I have to go our room is ready and I want to help everybody with the suitcases."

"Okay. Remember the mole-man photos."

"Sure will. Bye."

"Okay princess talk soon. Bye." I hang up and see dad walking up the porch steps. "Hi pops."

"Hello Chase." He says being as cold and distant as ever. "You were supposed to get here Tuesday." Thanks Giving here we come.
