~CHAPTER 34~

"Who let her choose the time that we leave?" May asks grumpily because it was five a.m. and she was already up.

We were all filling up the car with our suitcases and everything we need before we leave. It was currently five a.m. and very dark out. We were leaving in a few minutes. We had decided that it would be fun for us to take a road trip there instead of a plane. Sure it takes us two days to get there, but we aren't going to stay in any hotels we're going directly there only stopping to eat and to get gas.

"She was the one that was planning everything. And the one that invited us to her house for thanks giving." Cole explain loading May's second suitcase into the car.

"Cheer up buttercup you can sleep the rest of the morning. I'm driving after all." I say putting an arm over her shoulder only to have her shrug it off and turn to me.

"You are too alert, what are you on? Are you holding out on me?" She says pointing an accusing finger my way.

"Put that finger down." I chuckle. "I'm not on drugs. Just excited to go home." I heard the trunk being closed and see Cole coming around the car. Lizzie was already in the car and May had just gotten in the passenger side five seconds away from sleep land.

"Are we ready?" Cole asks me and I nod.

"Yep." I get in the car and turn on the heater, it's so fucking cold today. "Shit I forgot my jacket I'll be right back." I get out and start walking to Fredrickson. It wasn't that long of a walk since I had brought the car to the front of the dormitory halls so it would be easier to get everything inside.

I climb the stairs getting my keys out. I open the door and see that Chase is still sleeping. I quietly walk over to my desk grabbing my jacket from the chair.

"Princess?" I turn around to see Chase waking up. I walk over to his bed and squat down right next to it.

"Shh go back to sleep." I whisper pulling his sheet over him. "We're leaving, I was just grabbing my jacket before I left."

"Okay, drive safe. Call me when you make your first stop." He mumbles out yawning.

"I promise I will. Now go back to sleep." I whisper and stand up walking quietly to the door.

"Bye."

"Bye." I whisper back opening the door and leaving. I get to the car and see that May is asleep and so is Lizzie. I start to drive out of the school. Miami here we come.

...

I was turning over in my sleep when my knee hit something making me wake up from my sweet, sweet, slumber. Oh how I love to be woken. I open my eyes looking around to see where we were only to learn that we're at a gas station in the middle of somewhere. I grab my phone to see the time and see that its already 10:00am. I see that I have a missed call from mom and a message from Chase. I opened the Chase message first and smile.

Bugsy: Hey, did we have a conversation last night or was I dreaming?

Me: Dreaming about me huh?

Bugsy: Well duh, who else would I be dreaming of?

Me: Your lovely grandma obviously.

Bugsy: Oh that's sick.

Me: No it's not, it could be sweet, who know. As long as you're not doing anything... dirty.

Bugsy: Again I say, that's sick.

Me: Anyways yeah we did have a conversation last night or well early this morning. It was supper long and cute. You told me that I could braid your hair when I got back and that we would have a supper secret girl's night without the playing 'Charlie, Charlie' part.

Bugsy: But a supper secret girl's night is nothing without 'Charlie, Charlie' what will we ever do?

Me: We could always play another soul summoning game, I heard 'Scary Mary' is fun, and this one doesn't require any hard to find materials like paper and pencils or pens.

Bugsy: that's right only a dark room, a candle and a mirror.

Me: Yes! You know the basics, that means I won't need to take you to 'Summoning souls 101' it's surprisingly a very uncommon class I had always thought that more people would be into soul summoning.

Bugsy: A real shame. And, excuse you, I'm practically an expert at this, I have seven sisters remember? They all have friends, and I always end up being sucked into supper secret girl's nights, by the way you can't tell Shana that Tamera was at the last one or both Tamera and my sister will kill me.

Me: What's the tea sis? Spill it hon or I'll cut you.

Bugsy: Let's stop here, because it's getting out of hand. Now did I really speak with you last night?

Me: Yes you did. And since I got you here, we're at our first stop. Now that I think about it, we've been talking for a long time and I don't know for how long the three musketeers have been gone. I should go in and check on them.

Just when I sent the message there was a knock on my window causing me to jump out in fright and almost drop my phone on the car floor.

Me: Wait the three musketeers are back. Ooh and they come bearing snacks. Talk to you later Bugsy.

Bugsy: Bugsy?

Me: Yup bye!

I rolled down my window and Cole started handing me bags full of snack and drinks. "Thank youuuu."

"You're welcome." He says handing me the last bag. "May and Liz are coming they were just going to the bathroom really quick." I nod and he goes around the car to the driver's side and I grab a cherry Danish out of the snack bag. As I'm opening the cherry Danish I feel my phone buzz on my lap. When I pick it up I see that its mom calling me on face time.

"Hey momma what's up?" I say taking a bite out of my Danish.

"Nothing just wanted to check how you were."

"I'm great, we all are. We just made our first pit stop on our way there. We're in... where are we Cole?"

"We are one quarter into Wyoming."

"Thank you. You heard that momma?"

"Yes I did. You've made more progress than me and Sebastian did when we were driving up there."

"Well we're planning on getting there soon, that's why we cut our pit stops and we're not staying in any motels or any of that. We're only making the necessary pit stops like for food and gas."

"Is that safe?"

"I think so."

"Who drives when its night?"

"Cole and I do. I never go to bed early and Cole wakes up early, so it's really a win, win situation, the girls get to sleep and we get there faster."

"I still don't think that's safe."

"You're gonna make us check into a hotel aren't you?"

"You know it." She smiles at me and I smile back.

"Fine. But only for tonight."

"That's all I ask for."

"Okay then when we hit the next state we will check for hotels."

"Great... uh oh, sweetie, I have to go. Cinnamon is trying to take one of your cousin's finger off of his hand."

"Bye, call me if he loses a finger. Bye." I say and she nods.

"Bye... CINAMMON NO!" I hang up and chuckle a little. I look at Cole and start talking. "Okay when we get to Colorado we look up Hotels okay?"

"Fine by me."

"Where are the girls?" I say and just as I finish saying this the girls come out of the gas station. "Oh wait there they are." They get in the car and Cole and I look at them. "What took you two so long? I had two conversations, a marriage, a baby and a divorce while you were gone."

"The bathrooms in there were gross and we had to convince each other that they weren't that dirty." Lizzie says trying not to gag and my nose scrunches up in disgust.

"Let's hit the road." I grab the aux while Cole starts the car and connect it to my phone looking for a good road trip song. Finally finding one I roll down my window and press play. Its really a rolled down window kind of song. 'Someone to you' by BANNERS starts playing and it finally feels like a road trip.

...

"We're here everybody." I park the car and get out. We decided that we would be staying in a... Motel. Yay fun. Okay not really, but it was what we had if we were to follow our budget, which we are. And it's a nice looking Motel. Kind of.

We all get out of the car and make our way to the front desk, where there's a bitch faced looking middle aged woman. This is gonna be fun. As we approach the front desk my phone starts to vibrate, seconds later the song 'I Like Big Butts' by Sir Mix-a-lot starts playing making everybody turn to me. I chuckle sheepishly and take my phone out of my back pocket and see that it's Chase calling me.

"Cole can you check us in, I have to take this." He nods and I go stand by the car answering the call. "Miss me so much that you have to text and call? Damn Hudson you've got me feeling special. First you tell me that you're dreaming of me and now you call me."

...

"Hello?"

...

"Okay Chase not funny. Hello?"

"Bailey? Is that my phone?" I hear his voice on the phone and smile. "Oh shit. Gotta run. You got a nice voice by the way." A girls voice says.

"Thank you?" I chuckle and hear the phone being handed to somebody soon after I heard the presumed Bailey whisper 'She has a nice voice.' To the person on the other side of the call.

"Princess?"

"I wish. Then I would be loaded."  I joke smiling even though he can't see me.

"Funny. What's up?" He asks me and I chuckle and speak.

"I'm sorry to inform you, you called me."

"Fuck I'm sorry, the girls have no respect for my stuff." Yeah like brother like sister, I can bet every cent that I have in my wallet that this dude was the one that changed my ringtone. Little shit. I smile to myself and nod knowing he can't see me.

"It's okay, I got to hear some juicy stuff, I mean your sisters breathing? Top notch and that last phrase she said?  I believe it was 'Oh shit. Gotta run.' Best part of the entire call. And of course the voice compliment touched my heart. Nobody has ever told me that I have a nice voice." He laughs a real laugh and it arms my heart.

"I'm glad you enjoyed the call."

"I totally did. Oh this reminds me. Did you change my ringtone?" I question him already knowing the answer.

"How does that remind you of an enjoyed call?"

"Because I enjoyed the ringtone."

"Really?"

"Fuck no. who would enjoy 'I Like Big Butts' as their ringtone?"

"Sir Mix-a-lot." He states laughing.

"You're enjoying this aren't you?"

"Well of course." He takes a moment before he continues talking. "What state are you in right now?"

"We're currently in Colorado. We're in a motel actually. Mom called me right after we had finished our conversation. She wanted us to stay in a hotel. Due to budgets we are staying in a motel instead of a hotel."

"Smart. Hey if you see a mole-man make sure to take pictures."

"I said Colorado not Manhattan. And the motel looks decent-ish."

"I'm sure."

"Don't be mean or I'm ending this conversation."

"You wouldn't."

"Maybe I would, maybe I wouldn't. Anyways I..."

"Maddie we're on the first floor room six." Cole yells from the check in desk.

"Okay." I nod and put the phone to my ear again. "Hey I have to go our room is ready and I want to help everybody with the suitcases."

"Okay. Remember the mole-man photos."

"Sure will. Bye."

"Okay princess talk soon. Bye." We hang up and I start walking to our room.

AUTHOR'S NOTE

Hey lovelies. I'm so so so so sorry that I haven't updated in over a century, but I'm back. School's out and summer is in. Here is Chapter 34 ladies and gentlemen. I'm in shock with myself, I know I say some stupid shit like this every 10 chapters, but it's a lot you know. I had never ever written something that I would've thought would be good enough to publish. So when I took the first steps into publishing this book I was scared, but you guys showed me so much support and I've gotten to 34 fucking chapters, that's a lot guys. I never thought I would make it to 7 much less 34. But I have made it and there's more to come. And I'd like to thank all of you beautiful people, I mean you guys are the ones that motivate me. we just recently hit 11.k, 11 FREAKING K that's mind blowing. It may not seem like a lot but to me it is and it makes me feel so happy to know that you guys are reading my book. I would also like to apologize for posting this chapter so late, I woke up early this morning and by early I mean 5 a.m. because I had to catch a flight that was at 11 a.m. which got delayed and just know was when I got the time to actually edit this chapter the right way. Anyways my lovelies here is chapter 34 I hope you enjoyed it.
