You're my humanity ; Hope Mikaelson ✔︎
âNarrator's perspectiveâ
Arabella was merely walking in peace, the void on her chest was still there since she last saw Hope. It genuinely confused her in many ways at once, but did everything to ignore it all. She frowned, seeing the school entrance trashed with many toilet papers around it.
Her frown got more serious when she saw Hope by the entrance. "Hope?" She called out, the Mikaelson turning her head and almost lost her balance seeing the blonde.
Before either could speak, a siren whoops behind them, a cop car. The sheriff stopped by the side, exiting the car with a knowing look to the two kids who seemed guilty.
"This looks pretty self explanatory." She said, closing the car door behind her. "but you want to give it a shot?"
"It wasn't us." Arabella said, truth laced in her voice which the sheriff nodded, half-believing her choice of tone and words.
"Toxic masculinity mixed with outdated sports pranks." Hope stated, looking to Arabella who nodded in a chuckle sending shivers to the Tribrid who heard it.
"There's no way they did it." Maya said out of no where, rolled down the window behind the car. "Both are a timberwolf, not a stallion." She defended the two.
"Maya? What happened?" Hope frowned, seeing the girl arrive in a cop car was also self explanatory to other people who wouldn't know their mother's the sheriff.
She shook her head. "Oh, don't worry. She's my mom." She also explained and Arabella nodded, Maya getting off. "We don't really like to talk about it."
"We?" Hope asked again, looking at the other side of the car where Ethan got off. "Ethan? So you guys are...?" She trailed off.
"My kids, no matter how much it embarrasses them." The sheriff explained and the two teens were already infront of the Vampire and Tribrid.
"'Cause who doesn't like getting dropped off to school in a cop car?" Ethan added, nodding at an unfamiliar blonde besides Hope who smiled in response.
"I'm on official business." Their mother defended but Ethan and Maya were already getting inside the school, ignoring their mother. "Now... can you two show me where I can find Principal Saltzman?" She asked politely.
âï¸ï¸
"Yeah sorry. Like I said, I'm pretty new here." Ric said, handing the photograph of Dennis back to Sheriff Miller.
Arabella, who was veiled alongside with Hope, glanced at the picture in curiosity. "Well, his teammates last saw him at the old mill, by the Salvatore School. We Found his truck abandoned, and his hunting rifle nearby."
"Okay. Well, I will check with his classmates and his teachers. I wish I could be more helpful but like I said, I'm still getting to know the students. And the sheriff." He added the last one which made the woman smile and nod. "I was friends with the old one."
"Please, no more stories about how great sheriff Donovan was. His shoes are already big enough."
Arabella rolled her eyes, Hope didn't miss it when the action made Hope smile. It's been too long since she's seen the Vampire act so... normal, and herself.
"I'll leave you my phone number." Sheriff stood up and by her sentence, Arabella snickered at how Alaric looked right now. "Call me anytime." She added and left the room
Alaric made sure she left. "Did you get all that?" He questioned and the two girls had a teasing grin.
"Pretty sure she was flirting, Ric." Arabella teased, flipping a wooden pencil on her hand and ignored how Ric glared at her.
"I agree. She's definitely into you." Hope was turning left and right from her chair, a grin on her face when Alaric looked stunned.
He laughed. "What? No. No, she's just new to town, trying to make friends. Which is exactly what you need to be doing."
"Yeah, well, tried that last year. Didn't really work out. So I'm just gonna focus on monster slaying." She said determined and Arabella laughed, shaking her head in amusement.
"Well, it sounds like there could be another monster lurking around the Salvatore School. So, I'll check in with Dorian, since he has access to research we don't. Any other ideas?" He questioned, looking at the two.
"Just one but uh... We're all going to hate it." She smiled forcefully, Arabella looking at her in confused.
âï¸ï¸
"Damn it. You're right, I hate it." Arabella shuddered, standing and looking around the Salvatore Field. "Whyâ why do I have to go here again?" She asked dramatically, Ric rolling his eyes and Hope chuckling secretly.
"I'm sure Damon will be thrilled if you skip this one." Ric said sarcastically, Arabella rolling his eyes.
The Blonde walked over, her arms crossed and eyes caught Josie's who was in the middle of the field with Landon. She quickly looked away and focused more on Ric and Hope's conversation.
When everyone was cheering, Headmaster Vardemus held the ball in hand and a coin to toss. With Landon, Josie on one side, the other is Maya and Hope who called tails.
Arabella was listening in, already felt her eyes rolls at the headmaster's accent. She rests her hand on the bench on each side of her hip, watching, instead of playing the game.
"You're not playing?" Ethan asked, his arms crossed over his chest while he watches the whole play in front of them.
Arabella hummed, standing up to speak more formally. "If our team sucks then I might as well go and help." She shrugged.
"I'm Ethan." He introduced, extending his hand for the blonde to shake which she did accordingly. "Wowâ Your eyes theyâ"
"Yeah. Kind of cursed." She joked which made the boy laugh. "I'm Luna." She added, their attention diverted to the ones who was playing in the field already.
Arabella saw everything that humans couldn't possibly see or heard. She heard how Josie mumbled a spell, She saw how Kaleb used his vampire speed slightly to catch the ball. She clicked her tongue, looking over the headmaster who was simply watching with an umbrella for him to hold.
More and more, Ethan and Arabella began to worry. But for Arabella it was for the students in Salvatore school getting too cocky for her liking.
When Arabella saw Hope join the field, giving her a knowing look and cocked her head to the side, gesturing for her to join. Arabella sighed in frustration, subbing in for a guy who already looked exhausted and dirty.
She looked besides Hope, "We need to find a way to ditch this game. I'll lead." She whispered, holding Arabella's shoulder as she did so it wasn't suspicious.
"Let me guess, gonna break a leg?" Arabella asked which Hope hummed in response, eyes fill with mischief and back away to get ready.
They all huddled in the side, Hope running up to them with the blonde vampire close by. "Okay guys, let's do this." She announced.
"Do what? You're the quarterback, Hope." Maya said, giving her a glance then back to their teammates. "You call the plays."
Hope improvised, "Everybody go long?" She asked, earning a small chuckle from Arabella.
"Works for me. Timberwolves on three?" Maya said, all of them placed their hands in the middle, Arabella included. "One, two, three."
"Timerwolves!" They shouted and raised their hands up, scattering to get in position.
Arabella held her knees, sparing the stallions a look when they saw her get ready. She merely chuckled lowly when she heard Kaleb said they were screwed when they saw Arabella join the field.
When the ball got tossed over to Hope, which she missed accordingly, she picked it up. Hope's eyes searched for Arabella's who was holding her hand out for her to see.
Hope tossed it to her, Arabella jumped and caught it. The blonde ran with the ball in hand, juked Kaleb who she heard groan and ran to follow her. Arabella ducked when a familiar stallion was about to crash into her, skillfully dodging every move that was thrown to her.
The girl didn't even sweat when she arrived, the timberwolves cheering in delight when they finally scored a point.
The rest of the students in the Salvatore School groaned and knowing full well that Arabella was skilled in sports. They haven't seen her in action until today.
Kaleb walked over to her, giving her a high five which she returned and laughed when they seperated. Many saw the interaction and only the timberwolves got madly confused.
"Damn the girl got moves." Ethan clapped, cheering for Arabella who had done it.
Arabella dropped the ball, jogging over to Hope and extended her hand out when she saw how she was faking an injury. Hope hesitantly took it, Arabella holding her waist to 'steady' her accordingly so. "I'm gonna escort her to the clinic." She excused when Ethan was about to ask what happened. Alaric gave Hope a duffel bag discreetly.
"You just scored us a point." He pointed out, wanting to stop her so she can play some more and actually win.
"Yeah I'm sure you can handle it, Ethan!" Arabella waved off, still having her arm around Hope's waist when they were walking to the school.
When the cheerings got to a minimum, Hope had to shut her eyes before moving away from the blonde. "Pretty sure my ankle isn't twisted anymore." She joked and Arabella laughed, dropping her arm to her side.
"So what's your plan, Hope?" She asked, them entering the familiar school.
"There's a student named Raf and he's in danger. I'll need to perform a locator spell so can you show me his room?" Hope asked, knowing full well where it is but it would seem suspicious to the blonde who knew every inch of this place.
Arabella hummed and nodded, them walking in the deserted school. She took the chance to stroll, leading the way and opened the door for Hope. "The right side of the bed. That's his belongings." Arabella informed and she nodded.
Arabella was sitting on Raf's bed, watching Hope about to do a locator spell with the wolf's stuff. She picked out a paper from her bag and laid it out on the floor flat.
The witch pricked her finger and drops of blood went to the map, Arabella squinting her eyes. When she did so, it got her madly confused. There was worry in her heart when Hope pricked herself, she didn't know why but it was there.
Just as they did, Landon came inside the room and spotted the two. "Ara? What are you doing in my room?" He asked causing the girls to look at each other in wide eyes and back to Landon who looked confused.
"Uh... Look, I know that this looks badâ" Hope started and stood up to defend themselves.
"âNo. It looks like magic." He looked down to the map, then back to Hope and Arabella who was standing besides each other. Landon turned around quickly and ran.
"Corporis impetus." Hope clenched her fist up, the boy frozen in place when he was by the doorframe.
"I'm starting to think you're not some ordinary girl." He said, still frozen in place.
Arabella hummed, watching and listening to the two talk. "Look, my name is Hope, okay?
I-I'm a witch. I'm working with Arabella and Dr. Saltzman. He asked me to do a locator spell to find Rafael."
With that said, Arabella looked over to Hope, a shock and surprised look on her face when she said her first name like it was nothing. She zoned out on the conversation, thinking of ways on how could she have known. Surely Ric might have but it's likely impossible seeing as Alaric would call her 'Ara' or 'Luna' in school.
The thoughts didn't just drift away, it stayed glue to her head. The question on how this witch could know ran repeated imside her brain, annoying the hell out of her as she couldn't focus in the conversation.
"Because they don't know about the Crescent Wolf Clan. Not like I do."
Again and again, Arabella looked at the girl when she said those words. She met Jackson briefly one time and you would call it pleasant, so to speak. But, Hayley was the one who mentioned it in one of their conversations over the phone. Why would a witch claim to know so much about the werewolf pack that Hayley was born in?
"There is a monster on the woods and it feeds on werewolves." Hope informed when she let go of Landon.
"Ooh. Then I'm coming with you." He said, not likely offering.
"No offense, Lan, you need to stay here." Arabella finally spoke, also wanting to talk to Hope privately of who she is and how she knows everything she said earlier. The blonde felt the phoenix about to project which caused her to speak further. "Not up for debate. You either stay or I'll throw you back in the football field."
Landon frowned at her, wondering where the recent change of attitude came from. When no one was speaking anymore, Hope packed up her things, walking past the boy who looked restless.
When the pair left to the woods, Arabella looked back to the school and when she was certain nobody will her her, she pursued her lips.
"How do you know so much about the Crescent pack?" Arabella started, listening in on Hope's heartbeat as she spoke.
"I just know, okay?" She said, her heart rate picked up that only made the vampire more suspicious of her intentions today. "How do you know?"
"Because my friend was married to the alpha, long time ago." She countered, Hope looking down for a split second to maintain her posture which almost stumbled down. "And how do you even know my name, exactly? I told you my name is Luna."
Hope's mouth went dry, directing her focus on the map which was leading them to Rafael. She did the locator spell a few seconds ago while they were walking inside the woods. "Raf should be up ahead."
"And you're avoiding." She exhaled, Hope avoiding that burning gaze besides her as much as she can. The Mikaelson girl was afraid that if she looked, she'll probably end up pushing the blonde against the tree which will not end well for her sanity.
The two got sidetracked and heard someone scream and call for help. Arabella lead and ignored Hope when she tried to stop her. That was until they both stopped in their tracks, seeing the werewolf eating monster in about 10 feet high. It growled, looking at them.
"Stay back." Hope warned and practically pushed the girl back, placing her hand up. "Incendia." She casted and the monster got pushed back further.
"That's not gonna do." The Salvatore said, looking past Hope and the monster was clearly gathering its strength once more. "You have a plan b?"
Hope shut her eyes when a plan formed inside her head, "Turn around." She interjected, looking at the blonde who frowned at her.
"What, why?"
"Because plan 'b' involved me getting naked." She informed and it was enough for Arabella to turn around, her ears grew red in fluster and embarrassment, which she didn't know why.
"I have to draw it away from you." Hope said, taking her clothes off and didn't miss how Arabella was looking tense making Hope roll her eyes in a smile.
'At different circumstances, you wouldn't be turning around. Then again, you don't remember me so I guess that's an excuse.' Hope thought to herself while stripping her clothes off.
"Why would you..." Arabella started to ask, but stopped when she realised. "Are you a werewolf? You are gonna get yourself killed, Hope." She argued, wanting to turn around but decided not to since the witch has the possibility on being naked right now.
Hope forced herself not to smile at how concerning Arabella sounded and instead, she looked at her back when she was done. "Look, I wish I can stay and tell you all about it but I can't. So when I draw this thing away from you, I need you to go call Dr. Saltzman and Raf." She ordered indefinitely, walking a few steps away to shift into a wolf.
"Didn't know that existed..." Arabella whispered, looking at Hope's wolf form eye the hyena in an intimidating manner.
Hope ran away, thinking that the predator of wolves was following her but instead, it quickly turnee its attention to Arabella. Having no time to react or run, it slammed her from across the woods, the girl hitting her back on a tree then slipping unconcious on the soil beneath her.
All she remembered was Hope's wolf form and it definitely was something pleasing.
âï¸ï¸
"Hey there..." Arabella whispered, a small curved smile on her face when she saw the love of her life on her bed just woken up.
Hope hummed, burrying her face in the crook of Arabella's neck, not wanting to part ways. "You're awfully cheery, why?" She asked, her hot breath hitting the blonde's neck making her smile.
"Nothing." She replied lovingly, her free hand running across Hope's scalp, massaging her head smoothly. "It's midnight. You still want to go back to sleep?" Her question made Hope smile, playing with Arabella's hand while she closed her eyes.
"Let's just lay here, yeah?" Hope said, laying her head on Arabella's shoulder, looking up to meet her eyes.
The two laid in bed, no care for the entire world but each other. Hope planted a small and quick kiss on the girl's cheek, burrying her face on Arabella's neck again for comfort. Neither left the bed until they fell asleep again.
âï¸ï¸
"Heyâ Bella!" Hope almost lost herself, seeing an unconscious Salvatore from where she left. "Oh god, you too?" She asked, kneeling down to the girl, worry sparkling in her eyes when she first spotted her.
For a moment, Hope took the chance to held her cheek, softly caressing it like none other. Despite her being passed out, Hope was using her thumb, running it down gently while her breath hitched in sadness. The Tribrid closed her eyes, standing up when she felt like the vampire was about to wake and she did.
"Whatâ" Arabella sat up, stopped herself from speaking when she saw the light blue eyed girl besides her. "You're okay." She stated which stunned Hope in millions of ways.
"You were worried about me?" Hope asked, not believing it. After the day she had with Landon followed the two since the start, spending her time in the forest to find Arabella in worry, turning Rafael back to human and saving the two brothers from the monster.
Arabella blinked continuously, feeling a little saddened that Hope wouldn't think that she is worried. "Ofcourse..."
