You're my humanity ; Hope Mikaelson ✔︎

—Narrator's perspective—

The Blonde Vampire strolled her way on the side of the sidewalk, the blood on her chin was visible but not visible enough for the people who doesn't have a sharp eye. In the span of one month of summer, she offered to help Roman in search for student recruits which didn't help her latest and biggest problem in her heart.

She couldn't possibly figure it out at how a random girl keeps popping in her dreams. Arabella herself must admit the girl was gorgeous but not at all familiar. Everytime she wakes up, she forgets the face but never the feels of how the girl would make her feel in her heart.

Over times, she would lose control, kill people and never bothered to keep up with the people back in Mystic Falls. Ever since Alaric got voted out as headmaster, She was beyond pissed out that only 2 against many happened. Ofcourse she would never vote against one of her oldest friend and was even more surprised that Josie went ahead and voted her dad out.

One of the many reasons why she couldn't possibly handle a conversation with the siphoner. Betrayal might be necessary at times but Arabella just didn't expect that it Josie would do that.

Her thumb carelessly wiped a blood that dripped down her neck, it irritated her skin so badly that she used her sleeve to clean herself up in the dark night. Being drunk and high on blood was her traits when Niklaus was gone, now, she just feel like she wanted to do it all over again.

Nothing justified why she went on a killing spree but something inside her was aching for a release. She didn't know what but it surely did annoyed her but also felt relieved that this made her feel better than anything can.

"Luna, you idiot."

The Blonde turned her head, a grin crept up to her lips when her bestfriend finally caught up with her in due time.

"I suppose I'm suppose to be... hurt?" She just asked, watching Bonnie herself glare at her with crossed arms, waiting for an explanation on why. "You know why, Bon. He's barely alive as well." Arabella pointed at the body, pale and breathing heavily on the corner of the alley.

"He's about to be dead-dead if you don't heal him and compel." She pointed out, a soft glare to the vampire who rolled her eyes and accepted defeat.

While Bonnie was busy scolding her, Arabella knelt down to the man and bit her pale wrist, feeding her blood to the man who widen his eyes in surprise. He had no choice but to swallow it and Arabella didn't give him a chance to speak as she already compelled him quickly.

Soon thereafter, she clasped her hands and exhaled, looking at Bonnie with a simple and innocent smile. "You were saying?" She asked, the two walking the cold night.

"You weren't even listening so let me change the subject." Bonnie glared before pursuing her lips again to talk. "It's almost September, Thinking about going back to Mystic Falls?" She questioned.

"Maybe tomorrow." She shrugged in a reply then continued. "Or the next day, the day after that... in a month?"

Bonnie soon hit her in the shoulder making the blonde laugh. "You came to me for a release from the school, not a permanent solution." She pointed out once again, Arabella clicking her tongue in confirmation. "Ric needs you and you haven't exactly told him the names in your phone like, Hope Mikaelson. A little strange don't you think?"

"Yes bon bon. The last name of my very deceased bestfriend and a name besides which I do not remember placing in my phone." She looked at Bonnie who rolled her eyes. "You don't even like the Mikaelsons, Bonnie."

"Yes but I like my bestfriend who likes the said Mikaelsons." Bonnie replied back making the vampire snort and roll her eyes. "Have you atleast asked Freya? At the very least, Kol?"

Arabella sighed and shook her head. "Drop it, Bonnie. They don't need this as a burden or something. I'll handle it and I'll keep an eye for Alaric in the Mystic highschool." She explained seriously. Bonnie nodded, sighing in relief when she answered seriously.

"Well good because I am getting tired of seeing your face again and again." She joked and Arabella dramatically gasped and held her chest in hurt.

"You wound me." Arabella sighed out and Bonnie pushed her aside playfully, both laughing their heads off.

"Damon!" Arabella greeted and almost ran up to hug him but restrained herself and just walked his way, hugging the smirking

ex-vampire tightly. "Again with that grin." She retorted, playfully hitting him on the chest.

Damon snorted. "Always with the grin. It's kind of my signature move." He bowed in greetings, grabbing his little sister's luggage and placing it in his car. "Little sis." He opened the door in the passenger seat, the blonde getting inside without a worry.

Then, they were off the road with Damon Salvatore driving them back to Mystic Falls which was an hour drive. Plenty of time for them to talk and catch up.

"So how was summer?" He asked, looking at the blonde with a smile. Damon missed the girl so much and even offered for her to stay with him and Elena for the summer which she refused.

"Oh you know. Bonnie was there to hold me back from killing people who annoys me. I'm kind of turning like you back in the '50s." She joked and it earned Damon to laugh but never disagreed with her. It was true anyways so why dodge to truth.

"This is why we are considered siblings, Luna." He said with a smile making the Blonde nod and laugh.

The entire drive consisted of the two Salvatore Siblings to talk and catch up, the sun almost setting and by the time they arrived in Mystic Falls, the moon dawned on them.

Arabella told him to drive to the Salvatore school first, having the need to pick her stuff up seeing as she never packed it up. She was too pissed off to many people including the siphoner brunette that she already stormed off, dropping Landon in the school and on her way to the airport.

"Need help?" Damon asked, turning off the engine when they parked in front of the entrance to the school.

"Yeah sure." She shrugged, unbuckling her seatbelt before slipping out the car. She entered the familiar school with Damon besides her.

Damon was going on and on about how it looked so different and many things were misplaced. He complained of the many students who gawked at him seeing as his name is literally their school making Arabella laugh of her brother's behaviour.

It took a little while but Damon was already carrying a box of Arabella's stuff, the vampire telling him that she'll catch up with him.

"I don't remember you.." Arabella whispered, picking up the canvas by the window.

She doesn't know but it was the painting she and Hope did a few months ago together when they got back from their Maple Hollows road trip. All she remembered was blurry since her night consisted being with Hope all the time.

Arabella clicked her tongue, leaving the painting in her room then heading out with a few dozens of her stuff. She accidentally bumped into a girl, saying sorry but zipped her mouth when she saw Josie.

"Oh— hey.." The siphoner greeted awkwardly, also apologetic looking to the blonde who coldly nodded her way before walking past her. "Wait, Ara." She called but never followed and stayed her ground.

"What?" She asked, turning around again but not fully seeing as she's almost out the door again.

Josie opened her mouth to speak but not one word got out, she wanted to apologise but she couldn't. Arabella sighed, not wanting to add salt to the wound and left.

The Vampire placed her belongings on the backseat of the car before hopping in to the passenger seat. "You ready?" He asked the girl and she nodded with a reluctant sigh.

For a moment, Damon turned on the radio letting random music softly blast inside the car while Arabella had her eyes dead set on the window.

When the gates opened, She caught a glimpse of a girl standing in front, her eyes stayed glue to the girl who looked directly to her. Arabella frowned, having to look back to the car when they left the driveway, and Damon made his route to his house.

Arabella slipper back to her seat, feeling an odd sensation run down her spine when she saw the mystery girl. She couldn't see a face but there was something about the girl which made Arabella feel slight pain inside her chest which mildly confused her.

Nonetheless, it didn't stop her from smiling when Damon made a joke about Elena.

☘︎︎

Arabella didn't know why or she was just simply bored out of her mind. She slipped on the bench her eyes staring at a familiar spot in the middle of town. She was feeling deja vu on the spot but her mind went black.

It's been a few days, give or take of her being back here. She took residence in Elena and Damon's house which they didn't hesitate to welcome them. Tomorrow, she'll have to blend in with the crowd again and attend Mystic High to guard Alaric of what he might be coping with.

The girl shook her head, snapping out of her thoughts and continued to sketch on her notebook on her lap. A small smile lifted on her lips when she felt at peace, finally at doing art. She felt someone slip besides her, sitting down which made her dart her eyes upwards.

"That looks beautiful." The girl said, looking at the drawing then back to her purple eyes.

"Yeah it's kind of a trait of mine." She answered politely, smiling at the auburn haired girl who returned the smile. "I'm sorry, have we met before?" Arabella asked and squinted her eyes.

The girl looked hesitant and yet, she shook her head as an answer. "Have we met?" She countered back in a grin which made Arabella genuinely laugh.

"I'm sorry you just look very familiar." Arabella said honestly, her eyes squinting when the girl was looking behind her, more specifically, the spot where she was gawking at earlier.

The Vampire looked back but the girl was gone. She looked around but there was not a trace of the blue eyed girl, disappointment rose through her chest.

She sighed, getting back on sketching on the parchment on her lap. Arabella's mind was still hanging out for that girl who she just spoke with.

Hope shuddered a breath, having no control on her tears when she remembered that this was the place where Arabella and her exchanged their first I love you's. Call her sentimental but this was a huge deal.

It took the tribrid every ounce of her strength not to hug Arabella or even kiss her when she saw the girl alone in the middle of town. She clasped her hand on her mouth to silent her sobs while she hid behind a tree.
