You're my humanity ; Hope Mikaelson ✔︎
âNarrator's perspectiveâ
Her very light Violet eyes scanned the nostalgic streets of Mystic Falls. She has yet to push the urge on jumping off the moving car to go to the grill for a milkshakeâ oh how she missed everything on the menu. Once, Damon had to pull her away the bar to keep her sober when she turned her humanity switch off but that was a story for another day.
"For a lousy town, I surely did miss it here." She hummed, leaning back to her seat when they came closer to the school.
"Yeah me too." Caroline said softly, heart beats when she reminisces her highschool days all the way to being a vampire. She shook her head and parked right in front of the house.
Arabella stepped out, shutting the car door behind her, not without grabbing her bag full of clothes. "Would it be messed up to say I miss Damon?" She joked once they were besides each other.
"I wouldn't blame you. Damon and Elena are coming for a visit this week though." She informed and knocked on the door, expecting the twins.
"Really? My brother told you that but not me? How insightful." She huffed, crossing her arms like a child which made Caroline laugh.
Not really biological but more emotionally. Stefan and Damon was there for her when she went out to explore the world without the wrath of the Mikaelsons and Marcel to keep her from running free. The Salvatores grew fond of Ara, like a little sister even though she was older.
"Mom!" The twins synced and hugged the Blonde, more like jumped in delight when they saw Caroline on the door. "We thought you were never coming."
"Ofcourse not." Caroline said, looking over the two. "Brought a surprise too." She stepped aside and revealed a smiling purple eyed Vampire who was standing there.
"Oh godâ you guys definitely aged." She joked and hugged Josie who was the first to run to her. "Is it bad that you did?" Lizzie did the same, both seemed equally shock to see her here.
Lizzie was the first to crack and noticed, she turned to her mom. "This was the student you recruited?"
"Yup. Convinced Arabella to have a fresh start. She wasn't exactly happy to go in the beginning." Caroline frowned playfully at her bestfriend who rolled her eyes.
"But why? No offense but you're more than a century years old vampire." Josie said, smiling at the older who did the same in greeting. She surely did miss her.
"No one is suppose to know that. Call it like a new start. You two will keep it a secret, alright?" Caroline pointed at the two witches who simply nodded but was still confused why. "Now, we need to go to Alaric so she can get settled in her room. We'll see you two later." She pulled the Vampire to her way and bid goodbye.
Arabella took in the familiar house interior, more different than what she remembered but in her heart, it was still the same. The fireplace, the couch near it, everything but the Salvatore logo displayed everywhere when they were walking down the hallways.
"It's different." She hummed, looking around and many students who walked past them were talking about the girl who had Violet as a color of her eyes. "Talk about blending in."
"Oh please it's not my fault you and your coven has a genetic purple eyes." Caroline remarked, pushing the two doors open to Alaric's office. "Hey Ric." She cheerfully said.
Arabella walked in, also happy to see an old friend and familiar face. "Alaric. Okay why does everybody I know is getting old." She joked once the door was closed.
"Caroline, Ara. I thought you'd be here tomorrow morning?" He asked in surprise from the sudden appearance of the two. He gestured for them to sit down which they did.
"I had to push Caroline for an earlier flight to see her daughters." She explained, crossing her legs and leaned on the chair.
"Rightfully so." He added and looked at the blonde besides Ara who gave an innocent look. "Anyways, should we start?" He asked and the girl nodded. "First we need to talk about your last name."
Arabella nodded in acceptance. "Figured Salvatore still attracted attention to this town. I'll take my old name." She shuddered the last part, promised herself she'll never use it but she had no other choice as of now.
"Are you sure? You hated that name." Alaric said and sat on his chair, hands on the desk clasped together.
"Arabella Black is still my name even though I despise it. Anything else?" She quickly changed the subject, not wanting to talk about it. Her past was too emotionally attached to her.
Caroline and Alaric shared looks of the sudden change of behaviour. The blonde sighed in worry but didn't say a word of it.
"You will be roomed with Hope. She's the only one without a roommate and she can use the company." He explained, tossing her a key which she caught. When Arabella nodded in agreement he continued. "I talked to Emma and she's more than willing to arrange her schedule for you. You can talk to her about everything like Klaus' death and all."
"A counselor? Really Ric?" She groaned in annoyance but it didn't faze the man who nodded.
"Yeah and I'm not changing my mind about this, Ara. You need this."
Arabella sighed and nodded, knowing if she fights with Alaric on this one, she'll mostly lose since Caroline will back him up. Once the three talked more on the details, it was time for her to settle and meet her roomie. Not without Alaric stopping Arabella for a moment to talk, making Caroline exit just behind the door to wait.
"Actually, I could use your help tonight." He said sighing.
"Tonight is a full moon." She pointed out with her arms crossed, leaning on the opened door. The sun was about to set and only a few hours until the moon rises.
"Yeah I know. There's a kid named Rafael and I may or may not need backup. With you who can't dieâ"
"âYeah I'll help. Just call me if you're ready to go. I'm gonna go and get settled" She said quickly, pushing the door opened and walked off with a heavy heart.
Alaric opened his mouth to stop her and apologised but she was already gone with Caroline trailing by. He knew he messed up by bringing her 'curse' up so suddenly.
"Hey hey slow down." Caroline called out, catching up to the girl who got back to reality and did what she got told. "Come on, I'll show you your room." She pulled her to another direction, which Arabella was guessing, her room.
"Sorry I justâ Got pissed." She sighed out, rubbing her hands together in frustration.
"No kidding." She joked which made Ara smile, shaking her head. "Getting mad over it still? You know you have to stop doing that when we bring up what happened to you."
Arabella knowingly sighed. Caroline was right and she knows it. "I know it's been years but without that woman, I can't be at peace."
"Hey if you did what you did centuries ago, you wouldn't meet me your wonderful and very helpful bestfriend." She boasted, spreading her arms wide open making Arabella laugh in amusement. "And this is your room. Better meet Hope before you two get in the wrong foot." They stopped at a brown closed door.
"Yeah, go to Jo and Lizzie before you leave. I'll see you later, Ms. Forbes-Salvatore." Arabella joked teasingly which caused Caroline to lightly push her before walking away shouting bye.
Arabella silently laugh before knocking on the door, a mumbled 'come in' spoke from behind. She opened the door and peaked her head out, seeing an exact copy of Hayley on a bed from the left. It made her sigh but shook the feeling away with a light smile on her face.
"Hey, you must be my roommate?" She asked, closing the door behind her and putting her bag down on the empty but well groomed bed.
"Clearly seeing as I'm the only one here." Hope remarked with a teasing smile. "Uh Hope Mikaelson." She extended her hand out.
Arabella shook it with ease. "The Hope Mikaelson? I pictured a much more intimidating girl." They both laugh in unison by her words. "Nice to meet you." She smiled genuinely before fixing her stuff while they talked.
"So you've heard of me?" She asked skeptic about it.
"U-huh." She hummed, placing a few clothes on the drawer besides her bed. "Couldn't miss the people talking all about the Tribrid in this school." Though she lied, She heard it from Hayley which was once her close friend but now dead thanks to that Sienna.
"Right because being a Werewolf-witch-vampire in a supernatural school is totally normal." Hope clicked her tongue, sitting on the edge of her bed while she watched the blonde.
"Oh totally normal." Ara took a second the look at the Brunette who laughed at her tone.
Hope noticed her eyes, unique and obviously gorgeous. How can one even have purple eyes such as this girl in front of her?
"That's genetic." The blonde said, continued to unpack her belongings to its rightful place when she noticed Hope staring at her eyes. "Not technically but you could say it is. My coven had a bunch of rules."
"So you're a witch?" She questioned but still glued her gaze to Arabella's breathtakingly beautiful eyes which she can't get enough of.
"Was a witch." She hummed, pulling a journal from her bag, staring at it for long before putting it inside the drawer. "Lunatic family if you know what I mean."
Hope nodded in understanding. "We have that in common."
"How so?" Arabella asked, raising her eyebrow when she stole a glance to Hope who looked like someone killed her dog.
"Mikaelsons doesn't have a pretty good track record around here. You haven't heard of it?"
"I have but I never thought it would be that bad seeing as I'm still alive talking to you." She joked once more and finished cleaning up her clothes and other things.
"You never told me your name." Hope quirked up in anticipation.
Arabella laughed and nodded in realisation. "Arabella Black." She had a tone of distaste when she said her last name which Hope took note of.
"Black? I think I heard it from somewhere." She took a moment to think, leaving a shocked Arabella to look at her, hoping she didn't remember whatever it is.
Before Hope could say she didn't, The door knocked and opened revealing their headmaster with a knowing look.
"It's 6:30. Might want to go before the full moon is at its peak." He said to Hope who nodded and stood up. "You too Ara." Ric said quickly and rushed down the halls to get to his car which was parked at front.
"Wait why are you coming?" Hope asked. She didn't mind but when she and Ric recruits new students to school, it will usually be them two.
"I guess I'm special than you think." Arabella shrugged before walking faster than her, leaving a confused Tribrid to fend for herself.
"Atleast wait for me!"
