You're my humanity ; Hope Mikaelson ✔︎

—Narrator's perspective—

The Blonde was too bored and unbothered to even care about what Alaric was saying. She had her legs up the coffee table, back leaning on the couch while she just smiles whenever Alaric would look at her.

"You sure it glowed again?" Hope asked while tending to an arrow on her hand. She was on the chair in front of the Headmaster's desk, looking at the urn in horror.

"I sleep with the damn thing under my pillow It's hard to miss." Alaric answered and pointed his unloaded crossbow on the wall and fired as if he just shot something.

"What do you think it's gonna be this time?" She asked again and looked up at Ric. "Hm? Cyclops? Slender Man? Santa?"

Arabella chuckled and shook her head when she was focused on Hope's voice.

"Well given our luck, I think it's safe to rule out 'ol saint nick." He exclaimed and put down the weapon he was holding.

"I don't know. I mean, Santa Claus is kind of terrifying when you think about it. Breaks into your home. He sees you when you're sleeping. Not to mention, Judge-y." She leaned back and her words caught Arabella laughing.

"Hope, I need you to focus." Ric said and rounded his table.

"Look, I'm trying. I just wish that Satan's nightlight would give us some rest." She shrugged and pointed at the urn in frustration.

Alaric agreed, "Yeah. And I wish that knife was never in our school to begin with, but it's not like we can change that now. All we can do is make sure we're not blindsided by another monster waltzing through our doors."

As soon as Alaric finished what he said, the door opened and they all darted their eyes to see the Saltzman twins with luggages and smelt like airport. Arabella widen her eyes, completely forgetting to remind Alaric that he still needs to pick Jo and Lizzie up at the airport, hours ago.

"Too late." Hope remarked, stood up and sat besides Arabella so that she wouldn't get in the middle of the father and daughters reunion.

"Oh god. Uh, girls. What are you doing here?" You're not supposed to get in until tonight." Ric said, flustered at how his daughters got here.

"Mom was able to get us direct into Dulles. Then Faxed, texted and e-mailed you our revised itinerary." Lizzie seemed pissed but everyone was guessing she was restraining herself not to implode.

"I am so sorry. It's- It's chaos around here." Ric said and looked at the two girls who was sitting on the couch for help but they gave him a supportive smile saying, 'he got this'.

Josie looked at Lizzie. "It's okay, dad. We know that you're overwhelmed. But Europe was amazing. And seeing Mom was really good." She said in an exciting tone.

"Jo's covered the bright side. Far less sunny was waiting for you in the chilly dark of morning at the terminal and you not showing up." Lizzie said and dropped the bag on her shoulder, letting it face the floor in anger.

"Not to defend him but we've been in a crisis every hour since you were gone." Arabella spoke up, vouching for Ric who was still guilty for not picking up his daughters.

"Oh, we've heard all about it. Hope got bamboozled by one of the monsters and now only two keys seperate the entire supernatural community from being consumed by a hell portal." The blonde Saltzman said making Hope turn to Arabella whispering a 'why did i got involved?'. "I'm guessing that weird little vase is one of them?" She looked at the key on the desk.

Hope spoke up, "It's an urn, actually." She crossed her arms.

"I don't care what it is." She filtered her tone making Hope make an irritated look at her. "I care that instead of being welcomed at the airport, we were forced to take a three hour shuttle ride that smelled like an open sewer. And feet. Thanks a lot, Hope. Way to ruin life for the rest of us." Lizzie turned her heel and left, not including her bags that was left by the door.

"I'm just gonna..." Josie pointed back and scurried to leave and follow her twin.

Arabella sighed, looking over at Hope when Alaric also left to tend to their baggage. "So, since the said monster isn't here. I am taking you up for that offer over milkshake." She suggested and Hope chuckled, facing the blonde in eager.

"Only if we leave right now before we have to face Alaric's Saltzman's wrath." She said making Arabella smile wide, Hope leaned to capture her lips for a split second before they scurried to leave, undetected.

☘︎︎

'I wish Hope had never come to this school.'

"Oh how I've missed Rousseau's..." Arabella exclaimed with a mischievous grin. The blonde was looking at the restaurant, already planning a bloodshed inside her head.

"Don't start the fun without me." Hope giddy said and wrapped her arm around the girl, smirking as well. "Let's get inside before the fun runs out." She winked at the girl, leaning in to capture her lips hungrily.

Arabella chuckled and pulled away. "Now, go before I have to run us back to the compound." She pointed at the restaurant, letting go of Hope's waist. The tribrid reluctantly followed her wish, telling her to follow quick.

The Blonde looked around the empty street of New Orleans, a pitiful gut feeling sat in her stomach remenbering the fun she would have with Klaus. Now all that was replaced since Hope found her desiccated in a coffin, woke her up and practically forced Arabella to company her throughout her journey as a newly turned vampire-tribrid.

She walked inside the bar, slowly making her way inside to see Hope already digging her fangs into a random man. The Jazz music inside was ringing to her ears, multiple bodied dead on the ground.

"Oh darling, I'd be jealous if you keep going." Arabella teased, walking up to Hope who pulled away in a breathless manner. "But do continue, always fun to watch in the sidelines."

The Blonde walked towards the bar, grabbing a bottle of bourbon to fill up a glass. When she sat down on a stool, watching the tribrid go after anything alive in this room. At this point, she didn't care if the girl is out of control. Hope specifically said not to stop her whenever she does.

The door opened and neither of the girls were too open minded to see who it was. Especially Hope who was still sucking a man's blood dry.

But when three figures entered the room, Hope pushed away the dead body and turned to them. Arabella squinted her eyes in interest of the situation.

"Who the hell are you?" Hope questioned, wiping her lip off the blood, looking at the unfamiliar figures to them.

"I second that." Arabella grinned and walked towards the tribrid, crossing her arms when she spotted a familiar face among them.

"Uh-uh. Time out, Genie." Lizzie shouted crazily and looked around the room.

Arabella frowned and scoffed at her insane behaviour. "Pretty sure our name is not that, darling." She spoke loudly.

Alaric noticed the familiar face. "Wait. You're Arabella Black. I saw you with the Mikaelsons a couple years ago."

"I'm pretty sure you're outdated. Who are you?" She answered back and tried to remember and she did. "Oh wait, You're Alaric. I'm pretty sure I killed you multiple times. Oh your ring, right." She nodded in a playful smirk.

"My name is Hope." She spoke and eyed her girlfriend curiously of their recent interaction. "And you need to leave unless you want to be dessert." Hope looked at Lizzie being the main one she's most annoyed with.

Alaric stepped forward. "Hope Mikaelson? I knew your parents. I know where all this darkness you're feeling comes from. If you just talk to me, I really think I could help." When he finished, Hope's walls seemed to break down and Arabella looked at her in a daze.

She didn't know why but the moment a sense of humanity appeared in the tribrid's eyes, she much better felt like she was going to like Hope more than what she anticipated.

"So you're Caroline's daughters?" Arabella asked, looking at the twins of curiosity. She could have sworn someone resembled them.

"Josie. And she's Lizzie." The Brunette one said with a warming smile, still hyped up about how happy her father looked.

"I'm pretty sure Caroline Forbes is a vampire." The Blonde retorted, looking behind her to watch Hope and Alaric spar. Arabella found herself smiling at the scene where the tribrid looks carefree. Not that she's not carefree but more... free than usual.

Josie nodded, "I could tell you all about that. Involves my psycho uncle and my bio mom's crazy coven." She hinted that they should go inside the school. "As long as you tell me how you have awesome genetics."

"Ooh. You got me at the psycho brother. I feel like I'm gonna like you." Arabella said and the pair walked away, leaving an annoyed Lizzie who was watching from afar the two sparring.

Far enough, Hope was contemplating on what to do here. She's an excellent fighter and great instincts but at this situation, she got lost.

"You belong here, Hope. This could be your home. The family you lost." Alaric informed and continued to throw attacks and dodge.

"I can't stay. I've done so many awful things. The only family I have left is Bella and I don't intend on losing her." She said but looked hesitant of her words, except the family part.

The two continued and stopped after a few seconds to breathe.

"That's because no one was there to guide you. I don't blame you, Hope. I should have found you sooner." He dropped the sticks and went on a limb and hugged her.

Hope hesitated but felt too cared for and returned the embrace. All her life, her family keeps dying on her and now she has a shot on one, with Arabella who she's grown to like deeply more and more.

☘︎︎

'I wish there was no Salvatore school go begin with.'

"Just because Klaus gave me his blessing, doesn't give you a right to kiss me every damn second." Arabella grinned, holding Hope's waist while she leaned on the car, more like Hope pushed her on the car forcefully.

"Are you complaining?" The Auburn haired girl arched one eyebrow, leaning in to do it again heatedly.

"No, I am." A voice spoke behind them making Hope jump and back away from the vampire who was laughing. "When I told you to recruit Alaric Saltzman, I thought you would, instead of... what ever treachery this is." Klaus pointed at them playfully, then placed his hands behind his back again.

Arabella hide her smile, looking away while a very embarrased Hope trying to explain. "She forced me to." The Blonde pointed at her girlfriend who gave her a glare. "How are you even here, Nik?"

"Astral projection at its finest." He winked at the two. "Now, do I have to come there and do my daughter's job for her or will you assist her on doing so? I really hope you choose the latter, old friend."

"Yes, dad. I'll see you when you get back and I'm offended that you even thought I couldn't handle a single task." Hope sighed and entered the passenger seat of the car, shutting it close.

Klaus and Arabella laughed. "You really need to get better at the whole father thing. Even that speech of you telling me ways on how to hurt me for hurting Hope, who I dearly love, was horrible."

"I am getting better at this!" He said dramatically, looking at the blonde in disbelief.

"Bella!" Hope called when she rolled the windows down, Looking at her dad with a warning look before going back to sit down.

"That's my cue." He said and bid his goodbyes, disappearing from thin air.

Arabella smiled warmly, getting inside the very dramatic yet awesome car. She turned the ignition on before driving through the road. She knew very well the others followed behind them so she paid no attention to it.

"Have you seen Alaric lately? Dad mentioned you two knew each other." Hope asked, looking around the streets of Mystic Falls, closing in on the highschool that seemed to have a party going on.

"Not since 16 years ago. I kind of went back to New Orleans to help your dad with a crisis. Why?" Arabella asked, looking at the girl besides her before looking back on the road.

"Just asking." She hummed, looking at Arabella again at awe. Hope didn't possibly think that she'd be falling to anyone and there she was, gushing over a vampire who caught her heart.

Arabella noticed making her chuckle. "It's not polite to stare." She teased, sparing a glance of Hope who smiled.

"Well it's not my fault you look beautiful tonight." Hope flirted, leaning over to her and placed a chaste kiss on her cheek.

"Okay your flattery will get you no where, Hope Mikaelson." She said and pulled over the entrance of the school. "Looks like they need help, darling." Arabella said and unbuckled her seatbelt getting off the car.

Hope rounded the car to go besides Arabella who stopped the twins and Alaric. "Hey Ric. Long time." She said in a smile, Alaric looking at her in disbelief.

"Looks like you guys could use some help." Hope spoke and got inside the school entrance. Kaleb and the others arrived just in time and followed them too in pursuit.

"Uh-uh. No, we are all good." Lizzie exclaimed when she saw the tribrid and a familiar blonde besides her. "You too?" She whispered directing to Arabella who gave her a weirded out look.

"That 'M' Mikaelson. Like the boarding school?" Alaric asked, mainly directing his attention to an old friend of his who was looking around.

"Kaleb, compel the students to forget what they've seen. Jed, establish a perimeter, Lock the place down. Pedro," Hope turned to the smaller student. "Call in the chopper. and you stay here." She said to Arabella who smiled down on the ground.

Lizzie stammered, "Uh, I-I said that we're good, okay? Josie and I do not want to be superheroes." She went to her twin and held her but only to be pushed off.

"Yeah. Speak for yourself." She scoffed and eyed a particular blonde who looked uncomfortable under her stare.

Hope noticed and scoffed. "We're not here for you. We're here for him." She gestured to Alaric. "Come on." Hope wrapped her arm around Arabella's waist when they turned around to leave, marking her territory before Josie could even think about it.

"Aw, atleast I know you care." Arabella teased, kissing the side of her head making Hope roll her eyes but smiled at the gesture. The tribrid made sure Josie backed off, giving her a warning look when the siphoner was staring at her girlfriend again.

"Make yourselves at home." Hope said when they entered the Mikaelson boarding school, Alaric and the twins trailing closely by.

"This place, it's like a dream come true." Ric exclaimed once they entered the lounge area, students walking by and some were sitting on the couch.

Hope purused her lips while having her arm around Arabella's. "My father has had a checkered past. But when he had me things changed. There wasn't a school he could send someone like me to, so he built this one. And as you can see, it's been quite the success. So much so that he's currently overseas establishing our European branch, which is why we're in need of a new headmaster."

"And I told Nik he could use you, Ric. You can thank me later, old friend." Arabella said, smiling at the man like they've never seen each other in years, which they weren't until now.

"I think I'm gonna be sick." Lizzie spoke dramatically, still couldn't believe that all her wishes lead to this.

"Sorry if the chopper ride was too bumpy. Bathroom's down the hall." Hope said and the witch was already walking.

"I know where it is." She spat and walked past the two.

Arabella sighed, "I'm gonna check on... Something." She informed Hope, mostly because she was starting to feel weirded out under Josie's stare.

"I'll come with." Hope said, noticing how Josie made her feel uncomfortable. "I'll deal with you later." She motioned to Ric before following Arabella who got inside her room.

"Ah, You are jealous." Arabella pointed out, sitting on her large bed which she shared with Hope. "I mean I am too because the witch is also eyeing you."

Hope stiffled a laugh, sitting close to her, insanely close. "Well I wasted my time doing a favor to dad when I should be in here all day, with you." She hinted, hovering over Arabella's lips. "So, are you going to kiss me or would you rather go back our there with Josette Saltzman."

The Blonde smiled before leaning closely, crashing their lips together and Hope pushing her back to the bed, her sitting on her lap.

Eagerly, Arabella pulled her down for more physical contact. The night was supposed to make history but again, it was only Lizzie Saltzman's wish, rendering their moment a facade.

☘︎︎

(Authors note: I didn't include the world where Hope never lived. Arabella would just be captured from triad and experimented on for her being part original. Soon enough, they manage to use her blood as a weapon against other originals and vampires. She was used as a rat lab and eventually died.)
