You're my humanity ; Hope Mikaelson ✔︎

—Narrator's perspective—

Arabella sat on the large spaced couch, a piece of paper in front of her and a pen on her finger. She was still worn out from breaking down in front of Hope. Who in which assured her it was fine.

"Are you gonna start writing or are you just going to stare at it all day?" Hope questioned with her eyes squinting over to the girl besides her.

"What's the point? It's not like my very deceased parents would read it. All in which, they don't like me very much." She tightly smiled and slid the paper away to the floor, sighing.

Hope smiled weakly, placing her sketchbook down to her lap before turning to Arabella. "You don't talk about them, don't you?" The question caught Arabella off guard, she looked up to meet her eyes before nodding.

"What's there to say? I already accepted it that they don't love me like any other parents do. No reason to dwell in the past." She simply said, eyes travelling to the drawing on Hope's lap. "I see you inherited Nik's talent." The girl smile genuinely.

"Yeah— I guess..." Hope slightly blushed when Arabella saw it. The two fell in silence, only thing clearing their hearing was the fireplace near, cackling its flames aloud.

Arabella watched the door open, a figure she didn't familiar stepped inside. She frowned and stood up, placing the pen down to the couch when something felt odd on the woman that came in.

When she did, her heart immediately dropped to her stomach. The two pair of eyes met, Arabella being the only one who was more than shocked to see her.

"Bella? Who's that?" Hope asked, tugging on her arm when she noticed the Vampire's face went pale like a ghost.

"Luna..." The woman whispered upon seeing the blonde, the tears on her eyes began to swell up in sadness.

Arabella clenched her fist tight, water blocking her ability to see clearly but it didn't matter because her hand was gripping on the woman's throat tightly. She was holding her onto a wall, the woman tried to escape but was no use.

"How are you here?!" She shouted, never caring for the tug on her shirt when Hope tried to stop her.

Soon enough, students began to watch in horror as Arabella Black was looking so mad and scared. Alaric quickly rushed to them in a confused state to see his friend threatening a woman who looked dressed in the 1800's.

"L-Luna..." She croaked out and that was when Arabella let her go, the woman panting for air when her knees buckled on the ground.

"Ara calm down." Alaric said and turned his head to the students near them. "Go to your dorms. Now." He instructed sternly and everyone left quickly without a word.

Arabella's vision clouded, feeling too defeated to see such a face before. To calm her down, Hope was holding her arm and tried to get the Vampire to focus on her but was no use.

"Who is that? Who are you?" Alaric questioned when he helped the also platinum blonde haired woman up, almost as the same to Arabella.

"My name is Aurora Black. I'm her mother." She explained rather softly, eyes never left the girl she raised. But rather than seeing the innocent child she knew, she saw the veins under her eyes and remembered what happened.

Alaric and Hope looked at each other in shock, then their eyes turned to Arabella who was glaring at the woman with so much hatred she could kill her with a stare. It was no secret that Arabella loathed and despised her parents, they just didn't know how much.

"How did you get here?" Arabella asked with a much more cold and emotionless tone. She was holding the lie detector on her hand while looking at Aurora with so many emotions.

"I do not know. I was rather yanked awake." Her accent screamed the oldest year, she didn't mind at all but knew it was a much more different year than what she knew.

"How did you know where to find me?"

Hope looked over the girl in worry, her arms was crossed while she stood behind Arabella and watched the interrogation occur.

"I recalled hearing a voice telling me where to go. But, I did not have any control over my body when I arrived here." Aurora was fidgeting on her fingers, sat on the chair in a formal way with her back arched. "Luna I can't begin to start how deeply sorry—"

"—You do not get to do that." She sneered and stood up in anger. "I have gone through years without an explanation of what you were about to do to me. I accepted the curse you laid on me. I don't need an explanation." Hope looked at her in question. What curse?

Aurora's breath hitched and took in the girl's features. She looked different and much more mature than what she remembered. The girl grew up fine without her help. "Luna it wasn't my intention to condemn you."

"Stop calling me that!" She shouted and her eyes shifting to crimson red. Hope didn't waste another second and went besides her, holding her arm before she does something. "I am not the same girl you raised nor am I about to listen to your lies!"

"I am telling the truth. Your father forced my hand in a mimic spell to curse you for an eternity." She explained and all their eyes travelled to the ball of light that glowed blue.

Arabella shakily took a breath before sitting back down besides Hope. "What do you last remember?" She questioned more calmly with the help of Hope who was rubbing her arm in a gentle manner.

"I remember you. You looked so hurt and betrayed that it lead you to kill me with a dagger." Aurora said, holding to her stomach where there was a pool of dried blood on her outfit. Arabella looked down to the ball, indicating she's telling the truth. "Luna, please. If I would have known that Emmett took over my body, I would never let myself put you in so many pain."

Hope looked at the two before pursuing her lips. "What pain?" She asked directly to Arabella who couldn't answer her. So instead, she turned to Aurora who cleared her throat.

"Our coven discovered a spell that would make one immortal for all eternity. There is one and only weapon that will end their life permanently which is the—"

"—White oak? You're an original?" She turned to Arabella who was not proud of who she was and looked down. "How is that possible— Ester burnt the spell that made the orignal family what they are."

Aurora simply nodded her head. "Yes indeed but this was much worse than what Esther Mikaelson created. It enhances a Vampire's ability of emotional pain, doubt, heartbreak, anger. One can't simply carry that much feeling into account. That is why you, my Luna, keeps breaking down with an unbearable pain in your chest."

Arabella closed her eyes shut, not wanting to prove her mother's words right. Hope on the other hand was too surprised to even comfort her and instead rubbed her arm to calm her.

"You are the reason why I couldn't die peacefully. I never planned to become a vampire before Marcel Gerard already planted his blood in my drink." She started and slowly stood up, hovering over her mom. "The day I died was the day I overheard you talking with the coven about stealing my magic and sacrificing me. Either way, I still despise and loathe you for everything you did." Before any of the two near her could speak, she turned around and quickly left.

"Bella— Bella, wait!" Hope scurried to leave and passed by Alaric who frowned but stayed his ground by the door. She rushed her foosteps and followed Arabella go down to the transitional cellar.

Arabella slammed the door open, anger in her eyes when she saw the Necromancer tied up to a chair in a cell. "You are going to call off what you're planning before I do something drastic." She sneered, looking down at the man who grinned evilly. Hope breathed heavily when she caught up with her.

"Let the games begin, yeah?" He questioned and manically laughed.
