Ms Pepper Potts
WRONG NUMBER, But Thanks For Calling?
THE INTERVIEWER ROOM
â
3RD PERSON
Peter stood, staring around at the other interviewers. There was Flash, 4 people Peter had never seen, 3 people from school, 1 person that looked way to old to be there, and Peter.
"What's up, Peter?" Flash said, walking towards Peter. His voice seemed poisoned.
Peters mind stopped. His chest went tight.
He felt like he was going to puke, or faint, or all of the above. He had too many things in his life, and flash was going to make this one harder than it had to be.
Peter turned to the elevator, ready to leave, but one miss Pepper Potts came in the room.
She smiled at eveyone and clapped her hands for them to gather around her. Peter knew he couldnt leave now, without drawing attention.
He bit his tongue and listened to Pepper.
"Hello, teenagers," she welcomed with a smile. "I'm Pepper potts, feel free to call me Pepper," she adressed herself.
"Every one of you will individually spend 5 minutes with me in the privacy room, as I will ask you questions about your limits, accessibility, strengths and reasons," she explained.
Peter gulped. Sharing private information wasnt exactly one of his fortès.
"While waiting for your turn, or after you've been interviewed, stay here," she gestured towards the room they were in. "As I will announce the four successful people at the end." She finished.
Simple enough, peter thought. He looked around and saw eveyone looking confused.
He just sighed and tried to focus on the interview only.
"I'll be starting off with Flash Thompson. Good luck, everyone." she said with a smile.
Flash followed pepper into the privacy room, while eveyone else waited around.
Peter wandered around, trying to take in the people in the room.
2 out of 3 people that were from his school, were some tech guys in his science class. They dont talk that much.
And the other one...she was the only girl trying out.
Her hair was short and navy blue, with black streaks, fluffy and just below her ears.
Her eyes were a bright green, with what Peter could see, a glimpse of blue. She looked nervous and fumbled with her jacket zipper.
But she looked confident with how she stood. She made eye contact with Peter, so he quickly looked away.
Everyone's attention went to the privacy room door as it swung open, revealing an over confident flash, and an already exhausted pepper Potts.
"Next is..." pepper started as she looked at her handy clipboard. "Lilac...Rebell?"
The girl Peter noticed, walked slowly towards the middle of the room. "That's me." She said with a million dollar smile.
Pepper smiled and tuned towards the privacy room. Lilac slowly followed.
They went into the room.
That must be the new girl at school, peter thought.
Peter looked at his watch. He really wanted to get some patrolling done, but thought he'd have to be on the look out if SHIELD's onto him.
He whipped out his phone.

Peter stood, looking confused at his phone, when tony ran out of the elevator, into the room.
Peter got tense. Tony is ironman, he thought. I need to steer clear of him and the avengers.
Luckily for Peter, Tony searched the room for one kid on their phone, but soon realised that every single person in that room was on their phone.
He shook his head and muttered, "stupid phones.." as he left the room, leaving all of the teenagers looking confused.
Tony's mission to see what kid was texting him, completely failed, but he quickly got over the slightly harsh event, and went off to find Happy.
Peter put away his phone after that random encounter, and put his attention to the room.
When the door opened.
Lilac exited the room nervously and as she turned her head from pepper, she smirked.
"Peter parker?" Pepper called. Eveyone turned their head towards Peter who was stuck in a haze.
"Oh-!" he exclaimed nervously. "-thats me!" He said awkwardly smiling.
Flash scoffed and eveyone else stared at him as if he were a bug.
Peter filled and walked towards pepper who was smiling at him. Peter couldnt tell if her smile was real or not, but at least she wasn't staring like eveyone else.
"Sorry.." peter apologized as he walked into the privacy room.
"No need to apologize," pepper responded with a genuine smile. She closed the door and gestured for Peter to sit.
They both sat down, opposite to each other with a desk separating them.
"Hello, Peter." Pepper smiled.
Peter fidgeted with his hands. He NEEDED to focus.
"Good morning Ms Potts." Peter smiled shyly.
Pepper put down her clipboard and started writing down things Peter couldnt see. "No need to be nervous Peter," she said.
She put down the pen and offered him a lolly. "I can already see you seem like a great kid."
Peter took one and thanked her. Pepper asked him a few questions, and Peter answered.
"Just one last question," pepper said. She turned a page on her clipboard.
"what is your current living situation?" She asked. Peter felt like he had been stabbed in the heart.
Normally he would lie easily, without batting an eye. But he could tell from the moment she spoke, pepper was being genuine.
Peter gulped. He felt guilty for having to lie, but he couldn't possibly tell the truth.
If he said he was living on his own he would need to leave the apartment and sort out a new living situation, probably with child services.
Not to mention spiderman patrol would be harder.
And they might tell the school the truth.
"Peter?" Peppers voice snapped peter out of panic.
"Oh, uh," he chocked. He couldn't believe he was even thinking about possibly telling the truth.
"I live in an apartment with my uncle." Peter forced a smile that didn't reach his eyes.
Pepper nodded, not fully convinced, but she didn't want to cross a line. "Great! I think..." she stood up and grabbed her clipboard. "We're done." She smiled.
