Chapter 797
Guardian-In-Law by Five Generals
Chapter 797 An Evil Man âThe Federal Trade Commission mentioned our engagement in malicious competitive practices and market disruptions. Where is the proof? I can sue you for defamation without one.
âAs for the helipad on the roof, the Department of Public Works should know that the local military set it up for drills. Should I call Koga, the commander of the Garo Special Operation Team, over so you can question him?â
Darcy had nothing to lose at that point.
She challenged the agenciesâ decisions.
Most importantly, her reasoning was well justified, and the angry authorities had no leg to stand on.
Lilyrose Bank was not due its repayment from Quartet Group yet, and the government- funded project had just begun.
The claim of malicious competitive practices was unfounded.
For her safety, Kaze instructed Lilyrose Strategic Department to construct the helipad on the roof for drill purposes.
None of the allegations could be put on Quartet Group.
Clap, clap, clap.
Aaron clapped his hands and rose to his feet before drawing close to Darcy with a smile.
âImpressive, Ms. Quint. You carry yourself with grace under pressure as they say.â
Aaron paid Darcy a compliment and made a face. He said with a smirk, âBut, Ms. Quint, you have made all the authorities here your enemy. I doubt you have a place in Lilyrose anymore.â
âEven so, Iâm not transferring the shares to the Bowmans,â Darcy snapped back.
She stood up for herself.
Aaron had shown his true colors and made her cough out the shares anyway.
Instead of putting up with the insults, she was better off showing them who was boss.
1/3 âDo you think my family is after your shares, Ms. Quint?â
+15 BONUS Aaron scoffed. âTo be honest, the Vinlands and the Lees took an interest in your shares. Are you sure you can keep those shares even if you try?â
Darcyâs expression turned dreary.
She knew these two families wanted her assets, but she did not expect their aggression.
The Vinlands and Lees were trying to snatch the companies out of her hands.
Darcy would admit defeat if she lost in a fair commercial fight.
She was not going to hand over the reins without a fight, âMs. Quint, itâs only a matter of time before you have to hand over the shares. Just do it now. I can present the shares to the families, and you can get in my familyâs good graces. I donât mind doing something small for you in return.â
Aaron added, âDonât make everybody an enemy. Otherwise, you and your family will be back to living in that crappy house. Your parents wonât even get admitted to any hospital.
âImagine those dark days. Tsk, tsk. It must be horrible.â
Darcy made a miserable face.
She was afraid of the familyâs previous dismal days.
âYouâre a woman of reason, Ms. Quint.â
Aaron laughed at the tears in Darcyâs eyes and reached out to touch her face.
âWhat are you doing, Aaron?â
Darcy smacked his hand away and shot him an angry look.
Aaron said cheekily, âBe my lover, Ms. Quint. I can give you everything you want.â
âIn your dreams!â
Darcy saw red.
âWhat? Are you expecting me to marry you? Thatâs not happening.â
Aaron burst out laughing and uttered, âItâs better for you to be my lover than be with your dimwit husband. He canât even save his own woman. What is he useful for?
âAll of you can get out. I want some private time with Ms. Quint.â
He grabbed Darcyâs arm and guffawed.
+15 BONUS Aaron had laid everything out for Darcy. It would be in her best interest to just submit to him.
