Chapter 648
Guardian-In-Law by Five Generals
Chapter 648 Kievâs Father Stands at Attention While singing, Nelson kept giving Kaze smug looks.
Recognizing Nelsonâs usual sarcasm, Kaze ignored him.
Kazeâs silence only gave Nelson more ammo to attack him.
âDarcy, Kiev is meant to be with you. He bought a company worth 20 million for you. Sure, itâs not as much as five billion, but itâs his own money.
âA certain somebody spent five billion to acquire a company for you, but it turned out to be a lie in the end.
âYou should just make the divorce final after the waiting period. Kiev still has feelings for you,â Nelson blabbed.
âYouâre drunk, Uncle Nelson,â Darcy said indifferently.
âIâm not!â
Nelson put his weight on the table to get up and pointed at Kaze. âIâm only saying this for your own good. Kaze isnât good enough for you.â
Darcy stopped talking, but Nelson still went on.
âAlcohol is no reason for your ranting, Nelson.â
Unable to take it anymore, Kaze said curtly, âItâs a working day, and youâre still in uniform. Do you think itâs appropriate to come home for a drink in the middle of your shift?â
âWho do you think you are to lecture me, Kaze?â
Nelsonâs eyes bulged. âAre you going to report me again? Go on. Do you think Iâm scared of you?â
Kaze pulled out his phone without another word.
âJust let it go, Kaze.â
Rose knew solitary confinement would be tough on her father, so she tried to talk Kaze out of it.
âDonât stop him, Rosé. Let him report me.â
Nelson yanked his daughter toward himself. âI have friends in high places. Itâs pointless for him to report me.â
1/3 +15 BONUS The disciplinary squad of the military soon arrived. They wanted to take Nelson away.
âCome, brothers. Drink with me. We can leave after a drink!â
Nelson raised his glass and invited them for a drink. While talking, he took another sip.
The disciplinary team glanced at Kaze and broke out in a cold sweat. No way would they accept the invite.
âI should let you know that I have friends in high places.â
Nelson left with them.
âYouâre nothing but trouble, Kaze! You ruined Nelson!â
A short while later, Agatha came to Kaze exasperatedly. She wanted to kill him with her bare hands.
âWhatâs wrong, Mom?â Rose asked right away.
âNelson received a written reprimand and ten days in solitary confinement. Heâs required to write daily selfâreflections, each no less than 10,000 words long. These records will be added to his file and will impact his future promotion opportunities.
âThatâs not all. Kievâs dad called in a favor, but Chief Commander Hiden ordered him to stand at attention under the sun, and he passed out from the heat. He also received the same penalty of a written reprimand, solitary confinement, and self- reflections.
âNelson has done it this time with his superior.â
Agatha pointed at Kaze resentfully. âItâs all your fault, Kaze. Youâre a jinx!â
Everybody exchanged looks.
They could not believe Vanik, the vice commander of the South River State Strategic Department, was told to assume a standing position.
âAre you blaming me now?â
Kaze sat there and said nonchalantly, âDidnât he say he has friends in high places?â
Agatha nearly blew up at the comment.
Kaze received a call from Mathias.
+15 BONUS âMaybe I should return Quartet Groupâs shares to Ms. Quint, Kaze. Everybody is saying that Ms. Quint is working for my family.
What do they know?â
Mathias was anxious for fear Kaze was furious.
âLet them say whatever they want.â
Unbothered, Kaze uttered, âItâs a good thing. It would stop anybody from getting any ideas about Quartet Group because they believe they would be putting themselves up against your family.â
At least, it saved him a lot of trouble.
Mathias was speechless.
If Kaze dropped the act, everybody would think twice before going after Darcy. He did not need to hide behind the Butterworth Queens.
Nevertheless, Mathias understood that Kaze could not blow his cover.
Kaze asked, âDid you find out who started the rumors last night?â
