Chapter sixty four
His Mate: Prince Asher
Naomi stepped into a room similar to Irene's spell room but smaller. She glanced around her, she could feel that they were still in the human realm because the structure of the house was something she was familiar with unlike Asher's palace where everything seemed medieval but beautiful. "You have been here all along?"
"I told you. I may have left your father's house but I didn't leave you," Gaia smiled before walking up to her with something in a bottle and surprised her when she threw the liquid at her.
"Hey," Naomi was shocked and glanced at herself but she couldn't feel anything different except a little cold feeling on her neck where Asher's mark was. She touched her neck but unlike before when she touched it that it always aroused her, she felt nothing now. She frowned, "what was that, what did you do?"
"That was the cat Queen's saliva. She owed me a favor and I visited her eight days ago to get that in the place of the favor."
Her answer only made Naomi frown deeper, "why on earth would you demand for her saliva? Why would you throw it on me, ew."
"That mark was made by a demon. Cat demons' saliva makes demon marks impotent. Eight days ago, I found out you slept with a demon and he marked you, so I had to get it."
Naomi shook her head, she doesn't seem to understand what she was saying. "I don't really get you, Aunt Gaia. How did you know I slept with a demon, where you spying on me and even in the act?" she made a disgusting face, "not fair, ew, aunt Gaia."
"I told you, I have always been watching and no, I didn't watch the act. Like you say, ew," Gaia smiled. "But I heard you people talking about it. I had gotten the saliva for safety measure and waited to the blood moon night. If you were his mate through and through, I wouldn't have intervened but he has other two mates. I can't subject you to such life. His mating mark would have enabled him to find you anywhere and so, throwing a cat saliva on it would numb it. Which means that, you both can be in the same building and he wouldn't know you are there."
"So let me get this straight, you did this so Asher wouldn't find me?" Naomi glanced at her and seeing the look in her eyes, she already had her answer. "Why?"
"Because he doesn't care about you, Naomi. Tell me, you have been in that dungeon for over an hour, did he come and save you? All he would have had to do would be to teleport to you and take you away, but he didn't. Have you seen him again since last night after he had found his mates?" she raised an eyebrow. "He may have marked you, Naomi, but now he has his fated mates, it's only a matter of time before he marks them and reject you. At least this way, you won't feel the pain when he does."
Naomi felt the pain that came with her words and whispered, "he doesn't need to reject me, I am not his mate after all."
"Oh but you are," Gaia said, shocking her.
"What?"
"His demon chose you. Demons are not granted mates by the Goddess, they choose their mates. And his demon chose you, his demon was the one that marked you and now that you are not the mates of his other identities, naturally he would choose them over you. A chosen bond is not as strong as the fated bond, unless the mark was placed on the soul with love. If the two demons declares love to each other and accept each other and place a mark. The mark would be placed on the soul, which means that in every reincarnation, there will both be mates, forever. It is soul marking and not all demons partake in it. Do you know what it means that in every life you live, you can only have one person? Most male demons don't accept it and so it's not common now unlike in the olden days."
"Wait, back up, I am Asher's mate?"
"A chosen mate. A mate he didn't choose himself but his demon did. He doesn't accept you, that is why the bond is weaker than most. Now that he has his fated mates, he is not going to accept you but rather reject you. So you see, that is why you don't have to stay connected to him till he does that. An unbearable pain comes with rejection, Naomi, and trust me, you don't want to bear that."
The tears had already blurred Naomi's vision. She knew her aunt was right, Asher did not accept her. She could still remember how shocked he had been, how he had reacted when his family had said she could be his mate. Although he had tried to make up for it from his mother's party, she could always feel it that he doesn't love her. She wiped away the tear that trailed down her cheek, thinking about how he had avoided her since last night and even though he could feel her, didn't even come to say goodbye to her when she was leaving.
"I'm sorry, Naomi."
"How long will this last?" she asked.
"It's the cat queen's saliva. It's potent more than any other cat demon, so we should be looking around a few months, or even a year."
Nodding, Naomi turned and walked out of the room. Although not knowing her way around, she just wanted to be alone and Gaia could only sigh and let her be.

Anita laid in her room thinking about Gideon. He may be younger but he was sure hella handsome, just her kind of man. But remembering his origin and what it would mean to her if she was to accept him, she could only sigh. The best would be to reject him but how can she do that? She has been searching for him all her life. And the worst is that her family won't know that she had already found her mate and rejected him and would keep urging her to attend every blood moon night to come.
She closed her eyes and a line of tear rolled out of her lashes, and ran across her nose before dropping onto the pillow. She has only two options now: give up her life of privilege and everything she had worked hard for to be with her mate, or reject her mate to keep her life of privilege and be alone for the rest of her life without ever having a cub of her own. None of the options seemed okay with her and she found herself sobbing some more.
Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her chest, making her sit up on the bed. The spot a mating mark was supposed to be on her neck started throbbing painfully. She doesn't know what it could mean but she could feel it in her bones that something was wrong and it involves her mate. Although they have not marked each other, but they have seen each other and had perceived each other scents and that leaves them partially connected.
She climbed out of the bed sharply, rushed to her wardrobe and picked out some clothes and tied it with a string. Without thinking, she undressed and turned into her wolf. Biting onto the clothe, she ran to the window and jumped out of it with a destination set in mind: Rogue field.

"Where do you think he could be?" Damien asked as he followed Edward, his white hair flowing freely behind him.
"I can't possibly tell but I can sense him," Edward said, "we can start searching from the human realm. Also, I have this dreadful feeling that he is losing control, so if we don't hurry over now..." Edward shook his head but they didn't need him to speak. They all knew how Asher could be when he loses control.
Sean and Steven who had come to discuss with Damien and happened to hear Edward's words glanced at each other. "Then we mustn't wait anymore, we have to go over," Sean said.
"Yes," Steven nodded, quickly tying his long hair into a ponytail. "They may be rogues but they are still wolves and we can't just let Asher annihilate them. We have to stop him no matter how hard it would be."
Damien nodded in support. "Asher is not yet the alpha king, it would bite back at him should he take this decision into his own hands. King Edward, do you mind teleporting us to the human realm so that we can start searching from there?"
Edward said nothing and only opened his hand, they all joined hands and soon, disappeared into thin air. They appeared in the woods and all glanced around. "This is where I can feel him. I can't find the exact place because he is not the one hurt but I can feel we are close enough."
"This is already enough. This is the Eastwood and it would be understanding if the rogues are hiding here. We never have a reason to visit the rest of the woods so obviously, they would choose one of them," Damien said before they started searching, hoping they find Asher before it was already too late.
