Chapter 35: Thanksgiving Road trip

Head over Heels

As Thanksgiving approached, Mik had gone to her parents' house, and Flynn was flying back to his hometown to meet up with his family. Knowing that I didn't have any family nearby, Wyatt tenderly asked if I would like to join him for the holiday at his family's home. At first, I hesitated, thinking that it might be too soon to meet his family. But as he looked into my eyes with such sincerity and love, my heart melted.

Wyatt took me in his arms and gently brushed away a tear that had fallen from my eye. "Olive, my love," he said, "I know it might seem soon, but I want you to meet my family. They need to know the amazing woman that has captured my heart. And I don't care what anyone else thinks, because I love you with all my heart. I will always love you, no matter what happens. If everything goes well, I can see us spending the rest of our lives together. And if it doesn't, then I will never forget you. You will always be my Olive, and I will cherish every moment we spend together."

I felt so touched by his words and the sincerity in his eyes. I knew that he meant every word. I threw my arms around him and kissed him passionately, feeling my heart swell with love and gratitude.

Wyatt continued to hold me close and whispered in my ear, "I want to make you happy, Olive. I want to be your partner, your friend, your everything. And I promise to do everything in my power to make that happen. Please, say you'll come with me to meet my family. It would mean the world to me."

I looked into his eyes, feeling overwhelmed with emotion. "Yes, Wyatt," I said softly, "I will go with you. I would love to meet your family and spend Thanksgiving with you. Thank you for being so sweet and loving."

As we held each other, I felt a sense of peace and joy wash over me. I knew that I had found someone special, someone who would always be there for me no matter what.

The day of our trip arrived, and I packed my bag, trying to prepare for the few days we would be staying with his family. Wyatt picked me up early in the morning, and we said goodbye to Mik and Flynn before setting off on our journey.

As we drove, Wyatt's sister Naomi joined us on the way. We chatted and laughed, sharing stories and getting to know each other better. Wyatt and Naomi teased each other, and I could see the bond of love and friendship between them.

After a few hours of driving, we stopped at a roadside diner for lunch. As we sat at the booth, enjoying our meals, Wyatt turned to me with a smile.

"I'm so happy you decided to come with me, Olive," he said. "I can't wait for you to meet my family. I know they will love you as much as I do."

I blushed, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. "I hope so," I said. "I want to make a good impression."

"You already have," Wyatt said, taking my hand. "You're kind, caring, and beautiful inside and out. They will see that and love you for it."

Naomi nodded in agreement. "He's right, Olive," she said. "You're a catch, and my brother is lucky to have found you."

I felt a surge of happiness and gratitude, feeling blessed to have found such wonderful people in my life. As we got back in the car and continued our journey, I felt a sense of anticipation and excitement building within me.
