"You are calling her wrong,” Corentin reminded the triplets.

"Oh. Great-Aunt,” Charlie corrected himself.

Back when Ashlynn was still working as Anne's personal assistant, they had always called her “Big

Sister".

Cory's lips twitched at the way the triplets addressed Ashlynn and immediately changed the subject

by commanding the butler to serve the dishes.

He had been tolerant of letting Corentin bring Ashlynn along, but that was when he did not know

that Meredith was coming as well.

After the meal, Cory, Anthony and Corentin headed into the study room to discuss the future

development of Athetin.

Anne, Ashlynn, Bianca and Meredith sat by the table to sip on their tea, while the triplets played

near them.

"Anne, you can come to Ashlynn more often from now on. I can take you around. I know every place

in Athetin,” Meredith offered.

“Thank you. I can't see right now, so I don't think I can go anywhere,” Anne said.

"After your eyes get better, then.” Meredith was reminded of something and asked, “ Ashlynn used

to be your assistant, right? Who would have known that Corentin would take a liking to her? Other

women could only dream of having that kind of luck.

Ashlynn could sense that Meredith was about to mock her again.

"Yeah. She was great at her job and I didn’t want to let her go, but my uncle liked her so much that

there was nothing I could do,” Anne said.

The smile on Meredith's face froze. “Is that so?”

“Does he really like her that much, or is a certain someone just that good at seducing men?” Bianca

added, pointing the blame not only to Ashlynn, but also to Anne as she had always done.

“You mean how your mother cheated when she was married?” Ashlynn retorted.

"How dare you talk about my mom that way?” Bianca was instantly enraged.

“Those words aren't mine. A simple search on the internet would say as much,” Ashlynn.

"Why you-"

Bianca was about to say something else when Anne interrupted her and said, *

Ashlynn, why don’t you come take a walk with me. The doctor said that taking more walks would

speed up my recovery.”

“Sure.”

Ashlynn helped Anne outside, leaving Bianca and Meredith behind with dark looks. on their faces.

After walking a distance, Ashlynn asked, “Do you need to rest?”

“I'm fine. I just didn't want to sit with them. This was just an excuse to leave,” Anne said.

"I didn’t want to be with them either. Bianca never changes. What does she want?” Ashlynn asked.

“She and Anthony are deeply in love, so naturally she wants me out of the picture.” Anne stared

ahead and listened to the sound of her triplets playing nearby. “What's

with Meredith?”

“Elder Lloyd wants Corentin to marry her, but she doesn't know that the real Corentin is dead,”

Ashlynn explained. “I do wish that they would just get married, though. That way, I can leave. I didn't

want to come here today. You are already in Athetin anyway, so I could have just visited you later on

instead of coming here, but Corentin forced me to come here. I suspect that he was the one who

got words to Meredith to lure her here. I know Salvatore like the back of my hand.”

"And if that's the kind of person he is, do you really think you can leave even if he

marries Meredith?”

Ashlynn froze and was instantly rendered speechless by her question.

“If you don't know what to do, let's just take one step at a time!” Anne muttered, ” There's bound to

be a way.”

Sensing the sorrow in her voice, Ashlynn asked, “Is it really that bad between Mr. Marwood and

you? You have kids, unlike Corentin and I. We are tied in a knot that could only be untied if one of

us snapped.”

“Do you know that Bianca was the one who killed my dad?”

“Bianca did that?” Ashlynn gaped.

“She admitted to it herself. I am certain that she did it, but Anthony is taking her side, like he always

has.” Anne's chest tightened in misery.
