“Since we are here in the hospital, let's get you checked as well!” Instead of reflecting on his actions,

Corentin decided to take it a step further.

Ashlynn paled and shook her head. “No. I won't give birth to your child. I won't...”

“We've found a doctor.”

They drove the car to the main entrance of the hospital and Corentin carried Ashlynn out of the car

and into the gynecology department.

She fought the entire way and eventually was drained of all her strength. The doctor took her blood

sample before Corentin forced her into the inspection room.

Just as the doctor was about to operate the machine, Corentin waved her away and sat down next

to the machine, before commanding, “Gloves.”

The doctor handed him a pair of gloves hastily.

He put them on and said, “If she resists, you two will pin her down, and you are going to tell me

how to operate this thing. After all, I won't have others touching her private area, even if it's a

female doctor.”

His tone was casual, not knowing how strange and irrational his words were.

The doctor and the nurses gaped at his command, and Ashlynn forgot to resist for a moment, until

the doctor began to instruct Corentin on how to operate the machine.

“Umph!” She frowned at the cold sensation.

“Does it hurt?” He asked.

She bit on her lower lip at the humiliation and tried her best to relax.

The nurses pinned Ashlynn down while the doctor instructed Corentin and explained what was

shown on the screen.

It seemed like Corentin was doing it right.

Ashlynn had never thought she would face such absurdity and gave up entirely.

“Can you tell that she’s been pregnant before?” Corentin asked.

The doctor glanced at Ashlynn, unsure if she should disclose such information. In the hospital, it was

normal protocol to not answer any private question asked by the husbands out of concern that they

might cause conflicts in the family.

However, it did not seem as though the doctor was given much of a choice. “Yes. She's had an

induced abortion,” the doctor said.

“Ugh!” Ashlynn gasped.

“I'll be gentle.” Corentin calmed himself, but the dark look in his eyes remained

The doctor and nurses could still sense the tension in the air and remained quiet.

"Will it affect her ability to get pregnant?” Corentin stared at the screen

“The interlining of her uterus seems healthy. Her ovaries are healthy as well based on her reports,”

the doctor said.

The interlining of the uterus wall, ovaries and oviducts were all crucial in conceiving a healthy child

and a pregnancy would not be achieved if any of the three had issues, and Ashlynn seemed healthy

in all aspects.

Deciding to intercept, Ashlynn asked, “Are you done? Can you take that thing out now?”

It was bad enough to be checked by the doctor and to have Corentin perform the check was merely

unbearable.

Corentin withdrew the detector and took off the gloves. “Tell me why you aren't pregnant, then?”

Ashlynn put her trousers on and tried her best to remain calm. “It has to be my problem if I'm not

pregnant? Maybe you are the problem! You didn’t check yourself, after all!”

She thought that her response was logical enough and did not think that Corentin would undergo a

fertility test. After all, it was mostly women who would get fertility tests and a majority of men were

too prideful to do so, not to mention for men of Corentin’s status.
