The next morning, breakfast did not come, and lunch was skipped as well.

At five in the afternoon, Ashlynn stumbled down the stairs to grab food on her own. She was

exhausted and drenched in sweat when she was on the first floor.

"Why are you down here, Ashlynn? I thought your leg was injured.” Tina walked over.

“I'm worried that the servants will forget about delivering food to me again, so I came down to eat.”

Ashlynn turned toward the dining room.

“Hang on.” Tina blocked her way. “You should head back upstairs, Ashlynn! If something happens to

your leg, you are going to cause Mr. Lloyd more trouble, and he will be upset.”

"He's the one who's going to be upset. Who are you to say anything about this?”

"Why you..." Upset, Tina continued, “Ashlynn, you have no power here, and you won't get anywhere

with just a pretty little face. I advise that you stay out of my way, or I will make Mr. Lloyd chase you

out.”

“Impressive. Why don't you try? I'm excited to see how it turns out.” Ashlynn shoved her aside.

"Ah!" Tina was startled as she had not expected Ashlynn to push her. Thankfully, the maid behind

steadied her. "How dare you push me, Ashlynn? Don't you know that I'm pregnant with Mr. Lloyd's

child? If something happens to the future heir of the Lloyd Family, you will suffer for it!”

Ashlynn ignored her and continued to move toward the dining room.

Enraged from being ignored, Tina reached out to grab Ashlynn’s hair, but before she could touch

Ashlynn...

"What are you doing?”

The dark voice startled Tina, and she immediately dropped her hand.

Ashlynn turned around in confusion and looked at Corentin, who appeared furious. She glanced at

the terrified look on Tina's face and realized that Tina must have been trying to do something to her

when she was not looking.

Corentin walked over and glared at Tina. “Are you deaf?”

“I... 1 was about to help Ashlynn out. I didn't want her to fall,” Tina explained hastily.

"Get back into your room.” He narrowed his eyes dangerously.

“But... I haven't eaten...” Her voice faded toward the end of her sentence as the anger in Corentin’s

eyes intensified. She turned around and left the living room before entering her room.

Ashlynn watched as Tina left and was lifted off her feet before she could respond.

"Don't..."

“Who told you to come down here? I told you to eat in your room.” Corentin carried her into the

dining room and placed her on a chair before scanning the servants around them. “Did no one

deliver food to you?”

All the servants kept their heads bowed, not daring to say a word.

“They did,” Ashlynn said.

Tina was furious when she returned to her room.

“Why did he send me back to my room? I am the one who's pregnant with the heir of the Lloyd

Family! I'm the most important woman here!’ she thought.

When the maid brought the food inside, Tina flipped the tray without hesitation in rage.

"How do you expect me to eat? I don't have an appetite!”

The maid did not respond and simply headed out to the dining room. “Mr. Lloyd, Ms. Sparks threw

the food away and said that she doesn't have an appetite.”

“Let her starve, then,” he said.

“She's pregnant with your child. Don't do that.” Ashlynn turned to the maid. “Send her another set

of meals.”

“Yes.” The maid headed into the kitchen.

Corentin shot the butler a look, and the butler went into the kitchen as well.

“You seem to care a lot about this child, huh?” His expression darkened.

“The child is innocent,” she said emotionlessly.

Furious, Corentin narrowed his eyes and grabbed her wrist before pulling her closer.

"Ow..." She could not react in time and fell forward.

“We will see if it really is innocent.”

Ashlynn did not understand what he was referring to but sensed that there was something odd

about Corentin.

“Maybe I'm just paranoid...” she thought.

Meanwhile, Tina was starting to worry if her tantrum would upset Corentin when the maid delivered

another set of meals inside. She instantly confirmed that she still mattered to Corentin.

“That's right. If he doesn't care about the baby and me, why would he arrange a room downstairs

specifically for me? Why would he make me beauty collagen drinks. every day and order the maid

to send in another set of meals? Even if I bully Ashlynn, he will not do anything to me."

Past midnight, Tina jolted awake in pain. She tried laying on her back or side, but the pain simply

intensified.

“Somebody...” She got up and reached out for the lights. However, no one came inside, even after

she managed to turn on the lights.

"Is there someone out there? Are you all dead or something?!” Tina cursed, but there was still no

response.

Suddenly, she felt liquid sliding down her thighs. She lifted the blanket and was terrified when she

saw blood. “Wh...Why is there so much blood? S...Somebody! Someone, help me!”

No one responded to her wails, no matter how loud she screamed.

She struggled to get out of bed but collapsed onto the ground as soon as her feet touched the

ground. She resorted to crawling toward the door when the door finally opened.

Thinking that someone was here to help, she said, “I'm bleeding, take me... take me.... She looked

up and saw Corentin . “Mr. Lloyd, I might be in labor. Please... Please take me to the hospital...”

"You are just five months pregnant, and you are already in labor?” Corentin strolled toward her

before placing his foot on her stomach and adding pressure onto it.

“Mr. Lloyd? Mr. Lloyd... Why?"

"You should have left with the money after sleeping with me. Who gave you the right to show up

here?” he asked.

“But... But it's your child I'm bearing...”

“Even so, I won't accept it.” He narrowed his eyes dangerously like a monster lurking in the dark.

“Do you really think I'm unaware of what you've been doing in this mansion? How dare you?"

“No... No... Ahhhh!!!”

Ashlynn woke from her sleep and noticed that she was alone in bed.

“Where's Corentin? It doesn’t sound like he’s in the room,” she thought.

Just as she was confused, she heard the faint sound of the door opening. Corentin walked into the

bedroom and saw that Ashlynn was awake. “Is your leg hurting again?”

“No. I just woke up...” Ashlynn was not certain as to why she woke up all of a sudden but did not

bother asking where Corentin had been. He was either in the study room or with Tina, and the latter

was more likely. All she wanted was for Tina to give birth so that she could divorce Corentin and

leave Athetin.

She would soon be free in five months.

"You can't sleep without me?” Corentin got into bed and pulled her closer.

“You are reading too much into it,” she said coldly.
