Chapter 53 - The hero

Hurricane

Rose's POV

I was leaning against his chest while laying on the bed, his arms around me.

"I feel it is a girl this time." He commented softly, stroking my belly gently. "A girl like her beautiful mother." He added and placed a tender kiss on my hair. I beamed, turning my head towards him, and brushed my lips against his lips, resting my hand on his cheek.

Three months later

I was staring at my engagement ring and wedding band, smiling ear-to-ear while sitting on the couch in the garden. I still couldn't believe that Troy and I got married last week. It was magical. It was an intimate wedding in the garden of our new house with his family, my mother and close friends.

Troy talked to my father... Steven and invited him to our wedding, but of course, he declined the invitation. Troy didn't mention all the details of their conversation, but I guessed it didn't go well.

A few days after our wedding day, we heard that he moved to Canada permanently.

"Mommy?" Alec called me, interrupting my thoughts, and rushed towards me, dragging Troy with him.

"My boy, what happened?" I asked in curiosity, resting my hand on my belly.

"Mommy, I found a name for my little sister." He informed cheerfully as he sat down beside me on the couch and rested his little hand on my belly.

"What is it?" I asked in curiosity and gave Troy a questioning look.

"Alexia. Please, can we name her Alexia? Daddy also liked it, but he told me we should ask your opinion too."Alec said in excitement and looked at me with puppy eyes, waiting for my answer.

"What do you think? It is a beautiful name." Troy commented, placing his hand in his pocket.

"Yes, it is so beautiful, and it also matches Alec's name." I commented honestly, smiling.

"Yay!" Alec exclaimed in happiness, raising his arms in the air.

"Do you like your name, my little girl?" I said softly, stroking my belly gently while wrapping my arm around Alec's shoulder.

"Yes, she likes it." Alec said while leaning his head against my belly and placed a soft kiss on my belly. I smiled, stroking my son's hair gently. He was so excited to see his little sister. "I will tell Charlie too." He added, excited and ran towards his puppy which Troy bought him a few days ago as Alec kept asking for a puppy non-stop. Yes, I should admit Troy was going to spoil him because he couldn't resist our little imp at all.

As soon as Alec left, Troy sat down beside me on the couch and wrapped his arms around my shoulder, pulling me closer to him.

"How do you feel?" He asked, stroking my belly, and placed a soft kiss on my lips.

"We are fine. Don't worry." I replied and placed a chaste kiss on his lips.

"Good. If you feel bad like this morning, just call me. I will come back immediately." He stated firmly.

"It was just a cramp. The doctor said it was normal. Nothing to worry about." I reassured him, stroking his cheek gently.

He nodded. "Then after the meeting dinner, I will go to see Nathan and come back as soon as possible. He asked me to meet up today; he wanted to ask something from me. It must be something important; his voice was so serious."

"I hope nothing bad happened."

"So do I." He sighed, stroking my hair tenderly, and kissed my lips.

I closed the book when I noticed Alec was sleeping. I stood up carefully as I placed the book on the bedside table and stroked my son's hair tenderly. Then I left his bedroom quietly and went to the kitchen as I felt thirsty.

I was sipping my water when I heard noises coming from the living room.

"Troy?" I called him as I placed the glass on the counter and went to the living room.

When I looked around, no one was here. I gulped anxiously as my heart started beating faster. Suddenly, someone wrapped his arm around my neck, pulling me towards them.

"Don't scream, or I will ruin your pretty face." He threatened me as he pressed a knife against my neck, and I felt nauseous as the smell of alcohol filled my nostrils.

"Adam..." I mumbled in fear.

"Yes, baby. Did you miss me? I missed you so much." He whispered in my ear and chuckled after kissing my neck.

"Don't touch me!" I exclaimed, trying to control my voice.

"As feisty as ever." He chuckled and gripped my hair, pulling it roughly.

I screamed in pain, trying to release my hair from his grip. "Let go of me!" I sobbed, grabbing his wrist, but he was stronger than me.

"No, dear. We should have a closure. Don't you think so?" He smirked, pulling my hair again. "In the past, you managed to get rid of me, but now I will get what I want. And you will be a good girl and obey me, or I will kill your bastard sleeping in his bed." He warned me.

Fear consumed my whole body. My heart was pounding in fear and panic. I was barely standing.

No! Not Alec!

I sobbed, scared.

Please, Troy... come back quickly.

"Oh, I will not forget your unborn bastard either." He resumed sardonically. "Now you are helpless and at my mercy. And your hero can't save you from my hands. Both of you will pay for what you have done."

Tears were running down my cheeks while my body was shaking in fear.

"Firstly, you will show me your filthy rich husband's money. Then I will take care of you." He smirked arrogantly, still pressing the knife against my neck, and started dragging me towards the stairs.

"Let go of her if you don't want me to blow your brains out." Adam stopped without letting me go as we heard Daniel's voice coming behind us.

"Put your gun down! Or I will kill her." Adam threatened him as he turned around, dragging me with him.

"If you are slightly smart, you wouldn't do it. Now let go of her!" Daniel warned him firmly, pointing his gun at Adam.

"No, now you will shut up and let me go with her." Adam stated angrily, pressing the knife against my neck tightly while I was crying, frightened.

"Fine, I will let you go. Just pull the knife away." Daniel said as he raised his arms up in surrender.

Adam smirked, self-satisfied, loosening his grip around me slightly, and tried to drag me towards the door. Suddenly, someone grabbed his arm behind us and pulled him away forcefully.

"You fucking bastard! How dare you touch my wife!" Troy snarled as he punched Adam furiously.

"Troy..." I mumbled, relieved while tears were still running down my cheeks uncontrollably while my body was shaking.

"I will kill you!" Troy barked, still punching Adam while he was lying on the floor in blood, half-conscious.

"Mr. Anderson, please." Daniel tried to pull Troy back as we heard police sirens, but Troy didn't move, still hitting Adam. Meanwhile, I was watching them, numb, leaning against the table without managing to move.

Daniel managed to pull Troy back as police rushed towards them. Adam was lying on the floor without moving. His face was covered in blood.

"Rose..." Troy mumbled, full of worry in his eyes as he calmed down slightly and rushed towards me.

"Troy..." I sobbed and hugged him tightly, burying my face into his chest.

He hugged me tightly and ordered Daniel to check Alec.

"Everything passed, my love." He reassured me softly, stroking my hair gently, and placed kisses on my hair.

"I...I was so scared... I thought...he..." I burst out crying without managing to finish my sentence.

"Shh! Calm down." He cupped my cheek, lifting my head up. "I am sorry, love. It is my fault. I should be beside you, not in that damn meeting." He stated, giving me an apologetic look, and kissed my forehead.

"It isn't your fault, Troy. It would eventually happen. He would find some way to try to hurt me. You can't be beside me 24/7." I assured him, leaning my forehead against his forehead. "Fortunately, Alec didn't see anything. I didn't want him to have another trauma after what happened to you." I added and tightened my grip around him.

"My angel." He gave me a sad smile and kissed my lips.

"I want to see my son." I said as I pulled back slightly. I was afraid that he could get scared because of noises.

"You will see him later. Firstly, the doctor will check you up." He stated firmly as he stroked my belly gently and kissed my temple.

Daniel informed us that Alec didn't understand anything, and he had recently woken up before Daniel went to his bedroom. When he asked Daniel why his father was angry, Daniel lied to him saying it was just a dream. However, Alec insisted on wanting to see us. Troy went to his bedroom and assured him while I was giving a statement.

Once I finished talking to the police, the doctor arrived. She checked up on me and informed us that I and the baby were fine. I felt so relieved; I was worried that something could happen to my baby because of stress. Fortunately, my baby girl was fine. Then I went to check on my son; he was sleeping peacefully.

I was leaning against Troy's chest while lying on the bed. He was stroking my hair tenderly while hugging me tightly. His embrace made me feel better.
