Chapter 16 - Wish come true?

Hurricane

Troy's POV

"I brought your teddy bear. You forgot it in the penthouse." I informed, smiling, and extended it towards him, still trying to pull myself together.

He grinned happily as he grabbed the toy and hugged it tightly. "Thank you, Troy. I missed Teddy. I thought I lost him." He said and hugged me tightly. I hugged him back, smiling. "It is good you are here. Mommy is back. I want you to meet her." He added, giving me a cheeky grin.

"Oh... Fine. I would like to meet your Mommy. Look, there was no reason to be sad, buddy. Mommy came back." I commented softly and tapped on his nose playfully.

"Yes, you were right." He grinned, nodding. "Wait for us in the garden, I will call Mommy." He said, holding my hand, and dragged me towards the garden excitedly. I smiled and followed him. Then he ran to the mansion to call his mother.

I placed my hand into my pocket while pacing back and forth, lost in my thoughts.

Pull yourself together, Troy! Will you fall apart every time when anything reminds you about her? You are engaged. You should forget her. Vanish her from your mind...your heart.

I sighed, closing my eyes and ran my hand through my hair. When I opened my eyes, my jaw dropped in shock.

"I am going crazy!" I mumbled to myself, shaking my head. "Rose..." I looked at her in shock, my eyes wide.

A few weeks ago

Rome, Italy

Rose's POV

"Ms. Allen, Mrs. Ricci asked you to see her in her office as soon as you come." My boss' secretary informed me as I was about to go to my office.

"Fine." I nodded and went to my boss' office.

I worked at one of the famous fashion companies in Italy as a fashion designer. Working in this company was my dream when I studied at university.

I knocked on the door and walked into the office as I heard Mrs. Ricci's voice coming inside.

"Oh, good afternoon, Rose." She greeted me as I walked in and closed the door behind me. "Sit down, please. I have some exciting news for you." She informed me cheerfully. I nodded and sat down on a vacant seat beside her desk.

"What about? About Paris Fashion Week?" I asked in curiosity.

"No. It is about our New York branch." She replied, smiling as she extended a file towards me. "We are planning to open it this week. There is all the information you will need. I want you to head the branch." She added firmly.

"What?" I mumbled as I took the file. I gulped and ran my hand through my hair nervously. "Umm... Maybe it will be better if Eduardo leads the branch." I commented.

"No, I cannot trust anyone else; you know how important it is for our fashion house." She refused confidently.

"But I can't leave Italy before Paris Fashion Week." I reminded hopefully.

"Don't worry about it. Everything is ready for the show. Ann will handle it. If there is any problem, you will come back for a few days." She stated firmly. "Now, go and get ready. You will leave tomorrow. The tickets are booked." She added.

"Fine." I mumbled and sighed.

"Perfect. You may leave early today; you need to get ready. Have a good flight!" She said, giving me a warm smile. I nodded and left the office.

Fuck! What am I going to do now?

I ruffled my hair anxiously, biting my lower lip. I didn't want to go back to New York. I was so sure it would be a disaster. My father, the paparazzi and....Hector. If they found out about my son, everything would get complicated.

I sighed, depressed and mumbled. "Don't worry about Hector. Probably, he enjoys his married life with his wife and children." I smiled sadly as I thought about the possibility that his family could be Alec and me, but now... I shook my head, trying to get rid of these thoughts.

Forget about him! He isn't your main problem. The problem is your father.

I sighed, depressed. No one from my family knew about my son, excluding my mother. I had just told her about my pregnancy. Before she wasn't so happy about my situation, but then she supported me through my pregnancy as much as possible and came to Italy to be beside me when I gave birth to my little boy, my Alec. However, no one knew my mother visited me.

Flashback

I bit my lower lip nervously and called my mother on FaceTime as I rested my hand on my showing belly.

"Hi, Mom. How are you?" I said nervously and gave her a warm smile as soon as she picked up her phone.

"Fine, honey. And you?" She asked happily.

"I am fine too. Thanks." I replied, smiling while caressing my belly.

"You look different. Your face is glowing. A few months ago, you didn't look good. I was so worried about you, but fortunately, you are better now." She commented, relieved.

"Yes, I am better now.... Umm... Mom, I need to tell you something." I mumbled nervously. She gave me a questioning look. "More correctly, I want to introduce you to someone who is so important to me." I added, smiling softly.

"Who? Oh... Do you have a boyfriend?" She asked, excited.

"No." I bit my lower lip as I paused and took a deep breath. I pulled the phone away and showed my baby bump to my mother. "I want you to meet your grandchild, my little boy." I informed, excited as well as nervous.

"What?!" She gasped in shock and covered her mouth with her hand, staring at my baby bump. "Who is his father? Why didn't you introduce us? I didn't even know you have a boyfriend." She stated, offended. "Where is he now? At home?" She asked sternly.

I bit my lower lip, averting my gaze, and sighed as sadness crossed my features. "I don't know where he is." I murmured, stroking my belly gently.

"What? Doesn't he support you during your pregnancy? Doesn't he take care of you? Are you on your own?" She asked, concerned.

"Mom, we aren't together anymore. And don't worry I am fine. I am not alone; Ann helps me." I assured her, trying to hide the sadness in my voice.

"Ann isn't your baby daddy!" My mother commented angrily and sighed, shaking her head.

"I know, Mom." I mumbled as my eyes welled up, but I tried to hold my tears back as much as possible.

Ugh! These hormones! I had felt so emotional the last few weeks.

She sighed and said sadly. "I am sorry, I cannot be with you when you need me."

"It isn't your fault. Dad..." I forced a smile, shaking my head without finishing my sentence.

"But I will be beside you when you give birth. I will do something and come to help you." She stated, determined and wiped the tears off her cheeks.

"Mom, it is fine. No need. Ann will be with me." I refused as tears ran down my cheeks. "But don't tell my father anything. I know what he will tell me if he finds out about my pregnancy." I added, giving her a begging look.

"No, I will come. Yes, I can guess, but you cannot keep it a secret so long. He will eventually find out. You know your father. But don't worry about him for now." She sighed and continued. "Now, tell me about the baby daddy. What did he tell you when you informed him about your pregnancy?"

"Umm... Nothing." I replied in a low voice without looking at her.

"What?!"

"He doesn't know because I cannot find him." I replied honestly.

"How? Did he break up with you? You should call him, at least, send him a text, an email or do something else. You should tell him about his baby." My mother stated firmly.

"I couldn't find him. He didn't use the number he gave me. It was a UK phone number which he used while staying there. I searched for him on social media, but I couldn't find him or anything about him. We met in London while we were on a vacation. He told me he lived in New York. His name is Hector. He was studying at Harvard when we met. I don't know anything more.... And his family is rich. That is all." I informed sadly.

My mother sighed, shaking her head in disbelief. "What did you get yourself into, Rose?!"

"I am sorry, Mom." I mumbled as tears ran down my cheeks.

"Fine, it is the past. We should find a solution." She waved her hand, frowning. "If his family is rich, maybe we know them."

"I don't think so. I have never met him before." I confessed as I wiped my tears off my cheeks and rested my hand on my belly.

"I don't know anyone named Hector either, but I will ask a few people, probably I will find someone who knows him. I will search for him. He has to take responsibility." My mother said, determined.
