Chapter 70

After falling into the water, Olivia was indeed a little uncomfortable. She rested for a day and only went out at night.

When Olivia went out, she found out that Emma, Ethan, and the others had already left.

Olivia frowned and thought nothing of it. Just as she was about to go to the restaurant to eat, she received a call from Liam. Liam wanted Olivia to go back to the Taylor family house immediately. Liam didn’t say what it was about, but his tone was very serious.

Olivia pushed the door open and entered the house. Almost every family member was there. Other than David, who had gone overseas, everyone else was present. Ethan was also there.

The family members were all gathered, but there were very few servants. Only the butler was present.

He stood behind Liam with a secretive expression.

“How dare you be so self–righteous!” Olivia’s attitude angered Samuel so much that his face turned red. He panted heavily and his nostrils dilated.

Samuel suddenly stood up, picked up the cup in his hand, and splashed it at Olivia.

Because it was too fast and sudden, Olivia did not completely dodge it. Olivia only raised her hand to cover her face defensively. All the water was splashed on the back of her hand.

The water was very hot. After being splashed by it, Olivia’s hand quickly turned red.

Olivia shivered from the burn.

Olivia looked up at Samuel in disbelief.

Olivia had never expected anything from her father. Her father had given her life after all. Although he was biased, Olivia still acknowledged his position in her heart. Olivia was just unwilling to get close to her father. And now, her father splashed hot water on her.

If the water was splashed on her face, Olivia would be disfigured! Olivia lowered her head and quickly went to get the bottled water on the table. She wanted to rinse the burning blisters on her hand. But before Olivia could touch the water, Amelia had already taken the bottle away. Olivia looked up in shock and saw the undisguised malice in Amelia’s eyes.

Amelia had done it on purpose. She had deliberately taken the water away.

Thinking of her mother’s gentle eyes in her memory, Olivia felt a heartache. She felt as if her throat was choked, making her feel dejected.

Her biological mother, who used to love and dote on her, wanted her to be disfigured!

For a moment, Olivia could not tell if her heart or hand hurt more.

“I should let you experience pain,” Amelia said with a cold smile. “You can do such a beastly thing. So what if your hand hurts a little? You’re just suffering physical pain, but Emma almost… she almost…”

Amelia couldn’t continue, and her voice choked.

After swallowing to stabilize her emotions, Amelia looked at Olivia even more coldly. She wished she could go forward and strangle Olivia to death.

William rubbed his temples. He knew that Amelia was agitated and irrational, so he did not argue with her. Instead, William said helplessly, “We have to find out the truth. We have to have evidence.”

At this point, he looked at Emma, who was wrapped in a blanket on the sofa. Emma’s hair was messy, her face was pale, and there was a scar on her forehead. William felt pity for Emma.

Liam, who had been quietly watching the development, spoke at this moment. He asked Olivia, “Olivia, tell me the truth. Did you get someone to rape Emma?”

Olivia was stunned.

Amelia could not continue. She lowered her head and wiped her tears. Amelia looked up at Olivia with hatred in her eyes. “Why are you so vicious? How could you do such a thing? Emma has already compromised again and again. The Taylor family shares have been given to you, and the engagement has been given to you. What else do you want? Do you want to force Emma to death?”

Upon hearing the word engagement, Emma flinched and looked up at Olivia timidly. She trembled.

“Olivia, you, why are you doing this to me? I do like Ethan, but I’ve already given him to you. Isn’t that enough? Do you have to kill me?”

Listening to everyone’s words, Olivia pieced together the complete story from everyone’s words. She finally understood what was going on.

It turned out that Emma was almost raped this afternoon. It was Ethan who arrived in time to save her and bring her back to the Taylor family. Then, the Taylor family and the others suspected that Olivia was the one who instigated it.

Olivia was both angry and amused. The security of a five–star hotel could even let evil people in, and they even falsely accused her. Were they brainless?

“Do you have any evidence? What right do you have to say that I instigated it?” Olivia kept a straight face and suppressed the anger in her heart.

Ethan looked at Olivia with a complicated gaze. “That perpetrator confessed that you instructed him and even sent him a message saying that you would deliberately fall into the water and send everyone away. He said you asked him to wait in Emma’s room.”

Upon hearing this, Olivia felt an uncontrollable anger, burning her rationality. She originally thought that it was a misunderstanding, that they had misunderstood her.

Someone wanted to trap Olivia.

“And you believed whatever he said. How do you know if he’s lying or not?” Olivia said coldly.

“Hmph.” Amelia suddenly stepped forward and snatched Olivia’s bag. She took out Olivia’s phone and said, “The bad guy said that you sent him a message.”

13:05 Amelia raised the phone and interrogated Olivia. “Do you dare to unlock it now? Let us see your messages!”

A text message? Olivia felt her heart sink as she thought of the time when she was unconscious after falling into the water. Since the other party was so sure, they must have arranged everything long ago.

They must have used Olivia’s fingerprints to unlock the phone while she was unconscious.
