Chapter 63

Olivia had never harbored any feelings for Ethan. In fact, it was not as she had said. She did not come to Stars Bay for him.

What she said to him last night was just a sudden thought.

Olivia wanted to settle down, but she did not care whom her partner was or whether or not she had any affection for her partner. She just wanted to put Gillian and Jarron at ease.

However, after receiving a call from Andrew yesterday, she suddenly changed her mind.

“How adorable and wonderful that little boy is,” she thought. In the future, she would have her own child. She did not want her child to grow up in a family where the parents did not love each other.

She hoped the baby could grow up in a loving environment.

Therefore, she was willing to try and date Ethan.

The air in Stars Bay was fresh, and the hotel was comfortable. Olivia slept until daybreak. When she opened her eyes and saw the clear sky outside, she felt delighted.

In the end, other than the sunny weather, there was something else that could make her feel even more delighted.

When she pushed open the door in the morning, she saw a little angel.

Andrew was as surprised as Olivia. He stared at the similarly round eyes like his. He was taken aback for a while before running over happily and hugging Olivia’s leg. He was elated. “Olivia, why are you here?” he asked.

Olivia was also ecstatic.

“What could be happier than encountering an angel first thing in the morning?” she thought.

“Andrew,” Olivia said as she touched Andrew’s full forehead. Her heart was filled with surprise and joy.

“You’re here too.”

Andrew was a child with honeyed speech. He raised his head happily and said, “Is this fate? Olivia and I have such a strong connection.”

Olivia thought, “Connection?

“What a sweet word.”

At this moment, Daniel walked over. When he saw Olivia, he appropriately displayed a surprised expression, saying, “What a coincidence. Olivia. You’re here as well. Our company is having a team–

building event here.”

“It’s really such a coincidence!” Olivia thought.

He had stayed up all night preparing for today’s team–building event just so that Daniel could say “what a coincidence” to Olivia this morning. Emma and Ethan also came out of their rooms one after another. When they saw Daniel in the corridor, both of them were shocked.

“Mr. Sullivan,” Ethan said, taking the initiative to walk over and greet Daniel.

Daniel was in a good mood this morning. In short, it was better than yesterday, especially after seeing Olivia. However, his good mood only lasted until the moment he saw Olivia.

When he saw Ethan, his mood had turned completely sour.

He thought, “I almost forgot. It’s this guy who’s going on a date with Livy.”

Daniel discreetly sized up Ethan with a few glances, feeling that Olivia’s taste had declined quite a bit.

“Mr. Turner,” Daniel said as he nodded at Ethan with a dignified expression. He had no intention of shaking hands.

However, Ethan did not feel that he had been slighted. Although Daniel was about the same age as him, they had never been judged within the same framework. Ethan was outstanding, but his excellence had always been within the realm of wealthy second–generation individuals. He was considered an outstanding heir.

On the other hand, Daniel had long moved beyond the role of an heir. He was the head of the Sullivan family, and he had led the Sullivan family to surpass the other three aristocratic families.

The people who could communicate with Daniel on an equal footing were those people from the generation of Ethan’s father and grandfather.

Ethan was not in a position to communicate with Daniel on an equal footing yet.

Emma did not step forward. As a socialite, she had her own sense of dignity. Rushing forward too eagerly would give people a negative impression.

She stood at the same spot with an upright posture. She tilted her face slightly, revealing her more attractive left profile. She nodded gently and said, “Mr. Sullivan.”

Her posture was elegant, and her voice was melodious.

She displayed a graceful and confident demeanor.

Although Emma liked Ethan, it did not stop her from showcasing her good qualities to excellent men like Daniel.

After all, if she could gain Daniel’s favor, it would increase her status among the socialites. Even more so, it could satisfy her sense of vanity.

After greeting Daniel, she waited for him to respond.

As a prominent figure among socialites, Emma had grown accustomed to the pursuit of men. She was certain that Daniel would definitely respond to her.

However, after waiting for a long while, there was no response from Daniel.

Emma’s confident demeanor gradually cracked. She started to tense up. At the moment when she was about to lose her composed demeanor, Daniel spoke.

He seemed to have suddenly noticed her. He said with a touch of apology, “You’re Ms. Taylor, right?”

he said. “I’m sorry. I was focused on observing Andrew.”

As he spoke, he squatted down and waved at Andrew, signaling him to come back.

It was only then that Emma noticed that there was a little boy here.

“This is your son, right?” Emma said. She then praised, “He’s really cute.” “He’s very naughty,” Daniel said as he held Andrew’s hand and looked at Emma. Daniel seemed to be in a mood to chat. “I remember that Mr. Turner and you are engaged. The two of you are a perfect match when you stand together.”

After complimenting them, he turned to Olivia to seek her agreement.

“Olivia, what do you think?” he said. “Do you agree that they make a great couple?”

Olivia was left speechless. She really wanted to facepalm.

She thought, “Isn’t the engagement between the Taylor family and the Turner family arranged in private? It is precisely because outsiders do not know about it that the person who will get engaged to Ethan has been changed.”

Liam and William had told Olivia that only members of the two families knew about the engagement.

Outsiders did not know about it. When the children of the two families grew up and had feelings for each other, the two families would then announce it publicly and hold an engagement ceremony.

Olivia had always thought that others did not know, so she agreed to go on a date with Ethan.

She thought, “If everyone knows about it, I won’t join in the fun. There are plenty of men out there, not just Ethan.”

Given his status and position, his words were bound to be well–founded. He would not just talk nonsense.

Therefore, Ethan, Emma, and a few others believed it without the slightest doubt.

Ethan’s expression was grim. He apologized to the group and left in a hurry. He wanted to make a phone call to find out what was really going 1. on.

He thought, “Who leaked this?”

After Ethan left, Daniel was no longer interested in chatting with Emma. He turned to look at his son and said, “Didn’t you say you want to have breakfast? Let’s go.”

Andrew was indeed a little hungry. He nodded and asked, “Can I go with Olivia?”

“Don’t fool around,” Daniel scolded. “Olivia still has things to do. How can she have time to accompany you?”

Andrew’s little face instantly wrinkled into a pout.

Olivia could not bear to disappoint Andrew. She said, “I’ll go with Andrew.”

Daniel seemed a little sheepish, but he could not coax his son. He could only say apologetically, “Sorry to trouble you, Olivia.”

Seeing this situation, Emma, who was left behind, quickly said, “I’ll come along with you guys.”

“No,” Daniel said sternly, turning into a stern parent. “Miss Olivia’s time has already been taken up,” he said. “How can we take up your time as well?”

At this point, Daniel looked a little apologetic. “When it comes to raising children, we can’t always indulge them,” he said. “Children like being in a lively environment, and they hope to have someone accompany them. It’s okay to agree occasionally, but if we agree every time, it will spoil them.

“Ms. Taylor, don’t worry about us. Go ahead and do your own things.” As Daniel spoke, he led his son, his secretary, and Olivia into the elevator.

Emma was left standing there alone in confusion.

She thought, “Wait. What just happened?

“Why did I end up getting left behind?”
