Chapter 43
Billionaire’s Missing Darling
Liam called Olivia, and it was still Susan who answered. She said that Olivia was conducting a very important experiment and wouldnât be out for a while, so she couldnât disturb Olivia.
When Amelia heard this, she subconsciously frowned and said unhappily, âOlivia is really getting more and more insensible! What experiment is so important? Is it more important than seeing her family? Go in directly and ask her to come back.â
Having been a rich lady for many years, Amelia was used to instructing others. Since Susan was Oliviaâs life assistant, Amelia felt that she was a servant who could be ordered around at will.
Susan hesitated.
Liam knew a little more about the laboratory. He was different from Amelia, who had been raised in a rich family for decades and only knew how to enjoy her life every day. He knew that a laboratory at Ember University was built for over 20 million dollars or even a few billion dollars.
Moreover, it was not just the price. Many experimental products could not be bought with money.
More importantly, something like an experiment could cause safety accidents if one was not careful. If there was sulfuric acid or an explosion, one would be dead.
Therefore, he asked, âIs it a very important experiment?â
Susan did not know much about this, but she asked the students around her and replied, âYes, itâs very important. I heard from the students here that some substances have a time limit. They change in the air in a few seconds. If we donât observe them in time, we wonât be able to find them later.â
Upon hearing this, Liam became nervous and quickly said, âThen donât call her. When Olivia comes out, ask her to go home. Tell her that Amy is back.â
âAlright,â Susan replied cheerfully. âIâll tell Olivia as soon as she comes out.â
After hanging up, Liam looked at Amy.
Amy smiled. There was no displeasure on her face. Instead, she was completely happy. âI didnât expect Olivia to be so amazing.â
All these years, Amy had thought of many possibilities regarding Oliviaâs future. The worst outcome would be to be sold to a remote village as a child bride. The best outcome would be to be adopted by a kind couple and live a peaceful and happy life.
However, she did not expect Olivia to be better than she had imagined. She was indeed the daughter of the Taylor family. She was outstanding to the core.
All these years, in order to pray for Oliviaâs safety, Amy had done many good deeds and donated a lot of money to the poor mountainous areas. She had a glimmer of hope. As long as she donated more, Olivia might be able to use any sum.
Now that she had found Olivia and Olivia was living such a good life and was so outstanding, Amy would not care about such a small matter as her not being able to come back in time.
âPerfect. Iâm tired too. I wonât eat lunch. Iâll go upstairs and sleep for a while. Weâll talk when Olivia comes back tonight.â As she spoke, Amy got up. Before she left, she was still worried and reminded them, âDad, donât rush Olivia. I heard that safety is the most important thing in an experiment. Donât disturb her mind. Itâs fine if something goes wrong. The key is not to hurt her.â
âGot it.â Liam nodded.
The servant quickly led Amy and Yvonne upstairs.
Liam watched them go up before turning to Amelia.
Just now, there was an outsider like Yvonne around, so he didnât embarrass Amelia. Now that Yvonne had gone upstairs, he reprimanded Amelia mercilessly, âHave you become stupid from staying at home? How dare you spout nonsense!â
The head of the family must be wise. Liam was a generous head. He rarely said anything harsh to Amelia, his daughterâinâlaw. This was the first time he had spoken so harshly.
Amelia was dumbfounded. She looked at Liam in shock.
Liam did not want to reprimand her. It was just that she was getting more and more overboard. She was no longer young. It was fine if she was getting stupider and stupider, but she did not even have the heart of a loving mother.
âIn the future, donât get involved in Oliviaâs matters. Iâm not asking you to be fair. I just hope that you wonât drag Olivia down.â
Upon hearing this, Ameliaâs face turned red.
Amy and Yvonne werenât around, but there were still so many servants in the house. There was also the junior, Emma. Liam didnât show her respect at all and reprimanded her directly. She couldnât be more embarrassed! âDad, why am I dragging Olivia down? I was just asking. Shouldnât she return home immediately when Amy is back? What experiment is more important than Amy?â
Upon hearing this, Liam looked up at her with disappointment in his eyes. âEven Amy knows that safety is the most important thing in an experiment. As a mother, you only care about your own face and donât care about Olivia at all.â
âWhat danger can there be in an experiment?â Amelia subconsciously retorted. âIsnât she a biology student? Sheâs just observing the leaves and extracting microorganisms. What danger can there be?â
Liam closed his eyes and was extremely disappointed. âI wonât talk to you about this. Donât interfere in Oliviaâs matters in the future. Since you didnât raise her and donât plan to give her your shares, donât get involved in her matters.â
Share?
Ameliaâs expression suddenly changed. She thought that Liam was eyeing the Green familyâs shares and immediately said, âThe Green familyâs shares are to be reserved for Emma.â Olivia already had the Taylor familyâs shares and Emma still had nothing. Amelia had to plan for Emma.
âThatâs enough.â Liam waved his hand impatiently. âWho cares? Iâm just telling you not to get involved in Oliviaâs business.â
If she interfered, she had to give her shares to Olivia!
Amelia did not dare to care. Anyway, Olivia was not close to her. Since Liam asked her not to get involved, so be it.
Amelia stood up and led Emma upstairs.
When they were far away, Liam suddenly became mad and threw the pillow on the sofa at Samuel. âItâs all your fault!â
Samuel knew that he was indeed guilty according to Emmaâs matter. No legitimate daughter should give her shares to the mistressâ daughter.
However, Emma was also the Taylor familyâs daughter. They were both the Taylor familyâs daughters.
Olivia had shares, but Emma didnât. Moreover, Emma was so obedient and filial.
Sometimes, Samuel would be glad that he lost Olivia back then. Otherwise, Emma would not have returned to the Taylor family.
Samuel straightened his neck. âIf you also gave Emma shares, Amelia wouldnât go so far!â
âGet lost!â Liam was so angry that his neck turned red.
In the bedroom on the second floor, Emma was comforting Amelia and occasionally teasing Amelia.
âSweetie.â Amelia was amused by her. She pinched Emmaâs soft face and sighed in her heart. Emma was still the most considerate. Raised outside, Olivia was just so indifferent.
She didnât intend to care about Olivia anymore. So be it.
It wasnât that she didnât care about Olivia, but that Olivia didnât care.
Amelia was also unwilling to use her warm side to face Oliviaâs apathetic side.
After making Amelia laugh, Emma heaved a sigh of relief. She leaned against Amelia and said, âItâs all my fault. I misunderstood Olivia and thought that she was related to Ryan.â
âItâs not your fault.â Amelia was angry when she heard this. To think that her heart ached for Olivia for a long while. She thought that Olivia was a young lady with only beauty and no background, so Olivia became a mistress. In the end, Olivia was very powerful.
Olivia looked weak, but she actually had another identity and deliberately hid it from them.
It was better not to have such a hidden daughter who didnât open her heart to her mother.
âIn the future, stay away from her,â Amelia warned. âYouâre innocent and pampered. You donât have so many schemes in your head. But a girl raised outside is different. She has a lot of thoughts. Perhaps she caused the car crush on purpose this time. Otherwise, why didnât she explain clearly at that time and let you misunderstand?â
Amelia disliked Olivia more and more. She might have a motherly heart before. However, after being reprimanded by Liam downstairs, she was furious. She no longer had any love for Olivia, only disgust.
It was all because of Olivia that she had embarrassed herself in front of the servants.
