Chapter 233
Billionaire’s Missing Darling
As there had been no news from David, Yvonne was anxious. So she called him.
But no one answered it though she called several times.
Yvonne frowned and suppressed her grievance in her heart. Then she called Gillian to remind her not to forget about the ball tonight.
Attending the ball was not the main purpose. She actually wanted to introduce Gillian to a person, so that she could attend the Pharmaceutical Associationâs meeting in half a month through that person.
Only by this meeting could she truly come into contact with the top connections in this industry and be recognized.
Gillian was eating cereal. She spoke briefly to Yvonne over the phone before hanging up.
She looked up and saw that Jarron had only eaten half a bowl of cereal. before putting it down.
âWhatâs wrong? Are you feeling unwell?â Gillianâs eyes were filled with worry. Jarron had lost a lot of weight recently. If he continued this way, his body would not be able to hold on anymore.
Jarron shook his head. âIâm not feeling unwell. I just donât like it.â
After a pause, he added, âIâm not used to it.â
Gillian understood now. Malaâs cereal could not be compared to that of domestic. Besides, the seasonings were not complete. So the taste was very different.
Actually, Gillian wasnât used to it either.
Back then when they were at home, the cereal tasted soft and smelled very good though cooked in a simple way. But the cereal here didnât taste or smell the same even cooked in the same way.
Gillian put down her bowl. âHow about this? I give Roland a call to ask him where he bought the cereal.
Then Iâll ask him to buy some and mail it over.â
Roland was the head butler of the Smith family. Although he did not live with Isaac and Gillian, he made regular purchases of all the food materials for the Smith family.
So Isaac and Gillian could cook for themselves if they would like to f Billionares Missing Darling not, a woman who was employed partâtime would come over to cook for them.
Hearing Gillianâs words, Jarron frowned.
He didnât really want to get connected with the Smith family, but he really couldnât swallow this disgusting cereal. He could only silently agree.
Gillian took out her phone and made the phone call.
Initially, Roland was quite happy to receive a call from Gillian.
He did not care about the fight between Olivia and Gillian. He doted on them equally as he had watched the two children grow up.
Therefore, even though Gillian left the hospital and went to Mala, Roland was still very hospitable and full of respect for her.
But his tone sounded abnormal when Gillian asked where he had bought the cereal.
âSomething wrong?â Gillian found it strange. âWas it bought from the supermarket? Is that why thereâs no brand? If thatâs the case, Iâll have to trouble you to buy some from that supermarket and mail it to Mala.â
Rolandâs tone sounded hesitant. âIsnât there cereal in Mala? Will it be damp and become uneatable if we send it over from so far away?â
Gillian frowned. She was a little unhappy, but she did not show it.
Her tone still sounded gentle. âRoland, I know Iâve troubled you, but the cereal here really doesnât taste good. Jarron isnât used to it either. He likes that from our country.â
âI see.â Roland knew now that they didnât like the food in Mala. âAlright, Iâll get someone to get a few bags and mail them to you.â
âThank you, Roland.â Gillian thanked him in a gentle voice. In the end, she added, âRoland, donât forget. I donât want any other brands. I want the one we usually have at home.â
But not every kind of cereal domestic was delicious.
Sometimes, the cereal cooked in a very highâclass restaurant didnât taste as good as that at home.
The kind we often eat at home!â Roland felt himself in a difficult position. Itâs not that easy to get that Gillian instantly became sensitive.
Wat he hinting that she couldnât afford it any more?
Each of his words was like a needle piercing into her heart.
She tried her best to put on a gentle expression and said in a gentle tone, âI know that the cereal at home is expensive. Jarron and I have already left the Smith family. We donât have that much cash on hand. Youâre afraid that we canât afford it, but-â
Before she could finish, Jarron grabbed her wrist, his eyes full of pain.
He did not expect that after they left the Smith family and went overseas, Gillian would be so humble because they could not even afford cereal. Depressed, he snatched the phone away and said coldly, âRoland, weâre not in such dire straits. Although weâve left the Smith family, we can still afford a few bags of cereal.â
âDonâtâ¦â Gillian quickly grabbed the phone and apologized to Roland with a bitter smile. âRoland, donât be angry. Jarron just feels sorry for me.â After a pause, her tone became downcast, and her voice was slightly choked. âRoland, donât you dote on us anymore after we left the hospital and went overseas?
Do you treat us as outsiders now?â
âOh, no.â Roland was anxious. âThatâs not what I meant. I watched you grow up. How can I not dote on you? You listen to me that the cereal-â âDonât say anymore.â Gillianâs tone was sorrowful. âI know that Olivia is now in charge of the Smith family. Itâs inconvenient for you to help me. I wonât make things difficult for you. You just have to tell me the brand of the cereal. Iâll find someone else to buy it for us.â
Roland didnât say anything this time.
After a while, he sighed faintly. âGillian, youâve lived for more than 20 years. Why are you still so muddleâheaded? You donât even know about the cereal at home at all. Sometimes, I donât know whatâs in your head. You turn a blind eye to whatâs on the surface. Why do you stick to those nonâexistent and imaginary things?â
Gillianâs expression did not change. Her tone became much colder uncontrollably. âRoland, if you have something to say, just say it.â
Roland said, âThe cereal at home is specially provided. If you ask me to buy it for you, I wonât be able to buy it at all!!
Gillian was stunned!
So was Jarron and he looked up in surprise.
Gillianâs tone was lightly trembling. âSpecially provided? Is it for Grandpa?
âNo.â Roland shook his head. âItâs for Miss Olivia. But she rarely ate it and gave it to you.â
Gillian exclaimed, âHow is this possible?â
She didnât believe it. Olivia was only five years old when she first came to the Smith family.
Even if Olivia was a genius, it was impossible for her to make any outstanding contributions, due to her young age.
How could the special allowance be for her?
âGillian.â Roland sounded helpless. âIn the beginning, it was that Mr. Swift from the sanatorium, who was distressed by Oliviaâs poor health, who gave her a portion of his share. But later on, it was Miss Oliviaâs own ability to earn it.â
Gillian felt like a heavy hammer to her head. She did not make a sound for a long time.
But Roland was still muttering, âOther than the cereal, the vegetables and fruits at home are all specially grown. Theyâre natural and unpolluted, and the taste is good. When Miss Olivia went to study at Evervale, these things were originally supposed to be sent to Evervale, but Miss Olivia was worried you guys couldnât get used to other tastes if you didnât have. them, so she got people to send them to the Smith family.â
As Roland said it, his tone sounded quite complicated. âSince young, as long as Miss Olivia has something, she would definitely give you and Jarron a share. If itâs not enough, she would give it all to you. She doesnât have it herself.
âI just donât understand. How did the three of you, who were so good back then, end up like this
