Huo Siqian’s tone was filled with belittlement and mockery; he couldn’t believe that somebody as intelligent as Huo Mian would trust Zhao Qingya.

Maybe Huo Mian was out of options?

“You and Mian always mention Leila. Who is that? The final boss behind everything?” Su Yu couldn’t hold back his curiosity and asked.

After all, he had only seen Leila once, when he wasn’t even conscious. He thought he was in a dream.

So, he didn’t know that there was a woman who was uncannily identical to Huo Mian

“About her, the less you know, the better.”

“Why?” Su Yu couldn’t understand.

“For your own good.”

Su Yu was silent…

The two men both loved Huo Mian deeply, so their relationship was quite strange.

Although they weren’t her husband, they always competed for her affection.

It could be because of all the torture Su Yu went through or the tranquilizer used on him before.

Anyways, after a while, Su Yu fell asleep and was knocked out.

Huo Siqian sat in the car, but he wasn’t sleepy at all. He didn’t dare to sleep.

He needed to observe the surroundings in case Leila’s men caught up. That way, he could escape with Huo Mian.

Huo Siqian never told Huo Mian that Leila had a really powerful watch.

It could track Huo Mian, that was how Leila found out they escaped in the first place and sent Huo Siqian after them.

There was no movement from Leila, that only proved that she might be caught up with Lu Yan or Qin Chu.

However, how long they could stall for was unknown…

So, Huo Siqian felt a little uneasy.

Inside the house, Huo Mian couldn’t sleep at all. The men left the two blankets from Xiaoling to her.

Huo Mian twisted and turned but couldn’t sleep. Finally, she got up.

She came out with a blanket and walked to the car door.

Huo Siqian was a little surprised. “How come you’re out here? It’s cold out, go back inside.”

“I’m giving you two a blanket, otherwise the later half of the night will be real tough.”

Before Huo Siqian could sleep, Huo Mian opened the car door and brought in the blanket. She took a look at the sleeping Su Yu.

“He’s asleep?”

“Mhm, he looked really tired.”

“Yeah, he hasn’t slept in a while. Zhao Qingya has been torturing Su Yu for a long time,” Huo Mian said with an aching heart.

“It’s a miracle he’s alive. I’ve been with Leila for so long, and I haven’t seen anyone escape her alive… Right, Zeng Rou is dead.”

“What?” Huo Mian was clearly shocked.

“You guys were the ones who took Zeng Rou?” Thinking back, Zeng Rou had disappeared for a while. Even Secretary Zeng couldn’t do anything.

Director Wu and Huo Mian took the blame and were dismissed for Leila’s deeds.

“Zeng Rou wouldn’t say a thing. Her boss seemed to have a very sensitive identity. If I guessed right, it should be someone powerful from the capital.”

“Leila probably took Zeng Rou for that. However, Zeng Rou would never say anything, and finally, Leila lost her patience and tortured her to death…”

Zeng Rou died an extremely gruesome death, but Huo Siqian omitted the details, afraid that Huo Mian couldn’t take it.
