Chapter 1506
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1506
Sherryâs gaze shifted, but did not make a noise.
Both Matthew and Janine reacted poorly and their guilt made them lower their heads together.
âThough | hope that the two of you wonât appear before Sherry again. Or else I'll be mad,â John said to them with frosty eyes.
Sherryâs eyes gleamed.
Something must have gotten wrong with the man for defending her in front of her parents.
Matthew answered immediately, âI understand. We won't be disturbing Sherry anymore.â
Janine remained awkward and quiet, and when Matthew was done talking, she followed him out of the room.
The two of them soon disappeared beyond the gates.
Sherry got up and planned to go back to Caprice.
âYou guys should come out as well,â John said as he looked beyond Sherry.
Sherry was slightly stunned. She followed his gaze and looked behind her.
There was only one door dividing the living room and the
room, and after Johnâs words subsided, the door opened. Julie and Madam Stockton came out.
Julie cautiously said, âJohn, please donât get mad. Itâs not Motherâs fault. | heard Mr. and Mrs. Fowler were looking for Ms.
Fowler, so | took the liberty of bringing them here.â
Madam Stockton immediately said, âJulie, he heard everything outside. You donât need to put all the blame on yourself.â She
then looked at John, âI brought them here so that they would persuade Sherry to leave you.â
John frowned coldly. âMother, have you forgotten what Iâve told you the other day?â The frostiness on his face was brazen. He
was truly mad.
Madam Stockton averted his gaze out of guilt, but soon the anger rushed to her mind. She glared at Sherry and said, âI donât like
her. | canât even bear looking at her for another second. If you are not happy about it, just send me away!â
Johnâs gaze turned cold.
Julie quickly intervened and said, âMother, please donât say that.â
Sherry was beside them as they argued. She did not expect that the mother and son would bicker because of her. Besides, she
had agreed to marry the man out of contract, so there was no reason for him to be so protective of her.
âUm, why donât you guys calm down and talk this out? I'll excuse myself,â Sherry said and was about to escape
the room.
An arm grabbed her and pulled her into a strong embrace.
By the time Sherry realized it, she was already in Johnâs
arms.
John hugged her tightly. She could not break free using her strength alone, so all she could do was stand there stiffly.
John stared at his mother with curved lips. He smiled warmly and said, âMother, | wouldnât dare send you away. Please donât be
mad. I'll tell the maids to pack right away so that Sherry and Caprice can live outside. You donât have to see them again.â
As soon as his words subsided, he turned around and walked out with Sherry.
Madam Stockton became anxious hearing his words. She went after her son and said, âJohn, thatâs not what | mean. | want her
to leave you, not for you to bring Caprice away.â
John paused his feet and answered coldly, âCaprice and | will go wherever she is. If you want her to leave, Caprice and | will
leave as well.â
Madam Stocktonâs face was thick with grief. âThatâs not what | meant!â
John ignored her and brought Sherry to his car.
The silver MPV then drove off along the main avenue.
Madam Stockton could not stand there and do nothing: She quickly got into the cart and told the driver to go after John.
âDrive! Follow them!â
Julie quickly got into the cart as well. Her brows were tightly locked while her eyes were filled with annoyance and jealousy.
It was quiet inside the car.
After Sherry was dragged in, her eyes never left the man. His fair skin, handsome looks, and the golden -framed glasses that set
off his elegance... Everything was so characteristic of the man that always gave her a headache.
Had she not listened to the words herself, she would never have expected John to argue with his mother because of her.
