Chapter 1190
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1190
Sherry glared at him.
The bastard was threatening her with meals again.
In the next second, the arrogance on Sherryâs face was replaced by a flattering smile. âMaster John, what are you talking about?
| donât understand. | came out here to welcome you because | assumed you would be back around this hour. | happened to run
into Julie here, so we chatted.â
She then turned to Julie. âAm | right, Julie?â
Julie's gentle expression froze for a moment. She forced herself to maintain her gentle smile and said to John,* Ms. Fowler is
right. She came out here to welcome you home, and | bumped into her, so we chatted.â
John curled his lips when he heard Sherry claiming that she came out to welcome him. There was delight in his gaze when he
looked at Sherry. He instructed the driver, â Drive.â
The driver started the cart and drove closer to the ladies.
John glanced at Sherry when the cart stopped beside them. âWhy are you standing there? Follow us.â
He then lazily retracted his gaze from Sherry.
Sherry sulked and followed the cart inside.
Julie was left alone on the spot. When the cart and Sherry disappeared from her sight, she retracted her gaze and the
gentleness on her face turned cold.
Sherry followed Johnâs cart to the front gate.
It was then that Shannon came running out. She wore a sweet smile and jumped into Johnâs arms as soon as his foot touched
the ground.
âJohn, you're back!â Her voice was as sweet as sugar.
Sherry averted her gaze to the sky to avoid the eyesore.
John tapped Shannonâs shoulder and pushed her away. He smiled. âDid you go to the event with Mom and Julie?â
Shannon was slightly disappointed when he pushed her away, but his voice and gentle gaze reignited her ember of delight. She
beamed at him and said, âI did. We came back in the afternoon.â
âHow was it?â
Shannon recalled the respect and jealousy she saw on the peopleâs faces when they called her Mrs. Stockton. She widened her
smile and said, âIt was great, but | wasnât that familiar with the people there, so Mom and Julie did all the talking.â
John pursed his lips. âItâs okay. You just have to attend more events with them.â
â| got it, John.â
Shannon wanted to curl her hands around Johnâs arm, but the man strode inside.
âLet's go have dinner.â
Shannon immediately followed him inside.
Sherry stayed back while looking up into the sky. She waited until their footsteps faded before she headed into the house.
When she went into the living room and saw Shannon and John at the dining table, she stopped and looked away once more.
That was, until Celine reluctantly informed her that John wanted her inside. âSherry, the master is asking for you.â
Celine went in after delivering the message.
Sherry took a deep breath before she set foot inside.
John and Shannon sat elegantly opposite each other under the crystal chandelier. Celine was three meters away from them.
Sherry pondered for a moment and decided to walk over to Celine.
John and Shannon noticed her entry.
Sherry ignored them and continued walking to Celine.
âBring me a handkerchief,âJohn said all of a sudden. Sherry paused. She tightened her lips and reluctantly passed him a
handkerchief.
John used it to wipe Shannonâs chin.
Shannon was flustered when he touched her. Her face turned red.
He smiled. âYou got soup on your chin, but you are still beautiful.â 1
He then tossed the handkerchief on the table and glanced at Sherry. âTake it out to the trash.â
