Chapter 1189
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1189 Celine chased after Shannon. âMadam, are you really just going to let her be?â
âShut your mouth! Donât you ever dare say something like that again!â Shannon shouted at her. Julie already made it clear that
Sherry was Johnâs personal maid and Shannonâs sister by name.
No matter how much Shannon resented Sherry or hoped for her death, even if John was okay with it, laying a finger on her sister
would damage her reputation, and the public would condemn her for hurting a family member. Shocked, Celine immediately
covered her mouth.
The temperature started to plummet following the sun setting over the horizon.
Sherry got up and went out for a walk.
There was still some time until dinner, and she had no idea when John would come back, so she wanted to get some fresh air.
Celine was by the front gate when Sherry came over. She glared at Sherry but was blatantly ignored.
Sherry went out of the gate and started wandering along
the main pathway with her hands pocketed.
âMs. Fowler.â
A polite voice called her name from the back all of a sudden.
Having changed into a simple dress and covered in a shawl, Julie looked charming and gentle, especially with her hair tied back.
She seemed to be unusually friendly as well.
Confused , Sherry cautiously asked, âIs there anything | can help you with, Mrs. Stockton?â âYou donât need to address me like
that. Just call me Julie.â Julie went up to her. âYou might be here with us as a servant, but | know how John feels about you, and |
donât see you as a servant either.â She certainly knew how to captivate hearts using her sweet words.
If Sherry was an innocent and inexperienced young girl, she would have believed Julie and become best friends with her.
However, her instinct told her Julie was not a friend, but she had no idea why the woman would want to approach her.
Sherry hid her thoughts with a smile. âYou are really nice. | wish that bastard John would be as kind as you.â
Julie could still smile when she heard Sherry praising her, but when Sherry called John a bastard, her smile turned
cold. Fortunately, she recovered to her usual composure swiftly. She smiled. âMs. Fowler, Iâm sure John only does this because
he cares about you.â Sherryâs eyes flickered. âJohn is not only a married man, but his wife is also my sister, and | donât think it's
appropriate for you to tell me that he cares about me.â
She could understand if Julie wanted to defend John, but the woman emphasized Johnâs feelings for her. What was she trying to
achieve? Getting Sherry and John back together? Sherryâs gentle gaze shifted. âI didnât mean it in an odd way. | just donât want
you to misunderstand him.â
âOh, you donât have to worry though. | know that bastard. | would never misunderstand his personality.â
Julieâs gentle expression froze, but not because of what Sherry said.
Sherry sensed the awkwardness, so she turned around and looked in the direction of Julieâs gaze.
The man was watching them elegantly in the cart. He wore a gray checkered suit as he slouched on the cart lazily. His lips
seemingly curled into a smile, but there was no delight in his eyes behind those golden â framed glasses.
Sherry was caught by surprise. She quickly lifted her chin with her hands pocketed and looked at him arrogantly.
John smiled. âIt seems like you had so much to eat in the day and intend to skip dinner.â
