Chapter 11

The Mute Alpha

Song: Despacito by Luis Fonsi (A lot of you were saying that you like the original one more and I honestly do too, so I decided to do this one as well)

Sorry if it's been like a million years since I last updated. School has been a struggle for me. I decided to take APUSH, which I kind of regret doing. I only take one AP class (I don't understand how people can do more than one) and I stress a lot. Also my English is a real pain in the ass. Anyways, I'm finallllly back. Hope you all enjoy.

Happy Thanksgiving! And don't die during Black Friday!

•••

My eyes watered as I yawned. I blinked, finding my eyes staying closed longer than necessary. The car was silent since Theo fell asleep after he finished pigging on his food.

My eyes began drooping, wanting to fully close so that I could drift off into a peaceful slumber. But, to my dismay, I couldn't. I really should've made Theo drive, but the thought of him driving my car made me immediately dismiss the idea.

My eyes drifted over to Autumn. She promised me she'd stay awake, but she couldn't escape the sweet thing called sleep. Her lips were slightly parted and her eyelids were gracefully closed. She leaned her head against the window and her body slumped against the chair.

I so badly wanted to join her in my carefree imaginary world.

Everything became a blur the more my eyes watered. I rubbed them with the back of my hand.

"Jax," a soft voice whispered. It sounded so melodic and sweet. Just hearing it made my whole body relax. My eyes began to close on their own accord. "Jax." This time it was louder and more alert.

A hand was placed on my shoulder and whoever was touching me, gently shook me. I found my eyes open again as I yawned once more. I turned my head to the right and found Autumn frowning at me.

"I think you should pull over," she said. I shook my head and sat straighter in my seat, trying to wake myself up. My eyes moved back to the endless road. "You're really tired, Jax. You need some rest."

Sleep did sound really good, but the idea of pulling over on the side of the road didn't seem very safe. Rogues are unpredictable, and what happened at 7Eleven didn't settle too well with me. Anything can happen.

"Please," she pleaded, sending me a sad look. Staring at her brown eyes, I finally gave in. Turning on my turn signal, I pulled off to the side of the road. It suddenly became dark when I turned off the car.

Autumn's frown transformed into a smile as I unbuckled. I checked on Theo. He was all spread out, his head on the seat behind Autumn.

I moved my seat back, giving me more leg space, and tilted it back so I wasn't sitting straight up. Fortunately, these seats are not that uncomfortable.

When I glanced back at Autumn once I was comfortable, I noticed she was already staring back at me, emotions swirling in the depths of her eyes. With a grin, I motioned her over to me. She rose an eyebrow, but listened. She moved over the console and situated herself on my lap. I watched her every move.

I don't know how there was enough room, but there was. And she wasn't heavy at all, so I was pretty comfortable having her on me.

Her eyes never left mine. The way the moon shone through the window, it illuminated her face. Her eyes twinkled with emotions deeper than I could understand and the moon made her skin glisten under the light.

"Even though we just met," she whispered softly, "It feels like I've known you for a long time."

I listened to her, listening to the sound of her voice. My head nodded in response as I watched her eyes trail down to my lips, irises darkening.

"I don't know if this is the mate pull, but I have a strange urge to kiss you," she blurted out, her eyes moving back up to my lips. I felt my heart beat faster than it's suppose to, my body heating up. I felt that strange, lustful pull as well.

"But...I'm not going to," she said with a frown. My stomach immediately dropped. I've never felt so disappointed in my life. When she saw the disappointment displayed on my face, she explained why, "I don't want things to move too fast. I mean, I get that we're mates and all, and I do really want to kiss you. So badly. Really badly. But I want to get to know you better. And I'm afraid that if I do kiss you, everything might get heated up and I probably wouldn't want you to hold back. And also, I don't want Theo waking up to us having sex. That would be very awkward."

I glanced down for a second. I agreed with her even though I have this feeling that I wouldn't mind things going too far.

"But," she trailed, eyeing my neck with dark, lustful eyes.

My eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she leaned forward. Her lips were close to my ear, her hot breath tickling the sensitive skin. Her lips lightly grazed against the skin on my earlobe, causing me to shiver slightly.

I wasn't exactly sure what she had in mind. I've never read romance novels, nor have I watched romance movies. They're not my type plus I never have the time. Being an Alpha, I have more important things to do than watch cheesy, cliche romance movies. I got the majority of my information from Theo because he always explains what he does with women, even though I beg him not too share his horrific stories. He uses way to much details. It's disgusting and terrifying to hear. Like one time he told me that he made a girl scream when he-

"Can I?" she asked as she pulled away slightly, looking at me in the eyes for confirmation. I have  no idea what she's asking, but, without even giving her question a second thought, I slowly nodded my head. She smiled a nervous smile and leaned forward once again.

Her hot breath hit the sensitive skin on my neck like a wave, causing me to shudder. Goosebumps formed all over my legs and arms as her lips lightly brushed my neck.

Just that one simple touch made me feel at bliss. My whole body just gave itself to her and I was completely under her mercy. I, without a doubt, had a boner. I could feel it the moment her lips made contact.

My eyes closed as she placed kisses on my neck. I could feel the electrical sparks generated from the mate bond every time the skin of her lips made contact with mine. My breathing became uneven when she moved closer to my ears.

She gently took my earlobe between her lips and moved them against it, sucking on it. My lips parted and I shifted underneath her. My hands moved up and settled on her hips and I pulled her closer.

I squeezed my eyes shut as I tried to calm myself down before I do something I might regret later on.

I don't understand why she just didn't let me kiss her. This is just as intimate. But I'm not going to question her. She is a girl after all.

My body shook with pleasure. It amazes me how good this feels. I didn't even know I was sensitive there. How is she so good at this? Didn't she say she's never done this before? I'm starting to think that she lied. I can't imagine what it would feel like if her mouth was lower...

I tried to shake away these explicit thoughts but it was impossible.

Her lips moved against my skin as she continued to assault my neck. A low, breathy moan escaped my throat before I could be even think. And I couldn't hold myself back as I felt her wet tongue trail up from the base of my neck, adding a little bit of pressure.

When she finally pulled away, she smiled at me. "Did that feel good?" She asked. I nodded my head in response. Her lips pulled up into a smile and she leaned her head against my chest.

A few minutes later, her breathing slowed to a steady pace, leaving me in silence and my thoughts. My tired eyes stared at her peaceful form and I wrapped my arms around her body. The skin on my neck still tingled, feeling like her delicate lips were still there.

Darkness filled my vision as my eyelids fluttered closed, allowing my body to relax as much as it can and letting sleep consume me.

"How much longer?" an annoying voice wined from the backseat. I rolled my eyes while Autumn groaned.

"Don't you know how to shut the hell up?" Autumn asked.

He grinned, showing her his teeth, "Nope." Autumn rolled her eyes before glancing at me, a small smile forming on her face.

I couldn't stop thinking about what she did. I know it's not much, not even a kiss, but it is a step. I never thought anyone would do that to me and I never thought it would feel that good.

I smiled to myself and stared at the road, my body heating up at the memory.

"What's gotten you two so cheerful?" Theo questioned. Then his eyes widened, "You guys didn't do the dance with no pants, right?" Autumn opened her mouth to answer, but Theo cut her off with a gasp.

"You did!!! While I was here!" he cried out, "That's disgusting! I was in here." He ran a hand down his face, a horrified expression displayed on it. "How did I not wake up? How did I not hear?" My cheeks heated up while Autumn face-palmed herself rather loudly.

"Must've not been very good sex if you didn't have her screaming your name at the top of her lungs."

"Theo," Autumn tried to get his attention, but he ignored her.

"Ugh, I can't believe you couldn't wait! You two horn-dogs. At least do it when I'm not around. You guys are gross."

"Theo!" Autumn snapped.

"What?" he asked, looking at her.

"We didn't do it." Theo visibly relaxed into his seat.

"Oh. Well if you didn't, why are you guys acting like something happened. Did you kiss? Was there tongue involved?"

I shook my head while Autumn responded, "Not exactly..." Theo didn't bother hiding his confusion, but he didn't continue the conversation.

•••

It was in the early afternoon when everything around us began to look very familiar. The palm trees were everywhere and the seagulls flew by in the sky. I rolled down my window and allowed the warm breeze to hit my face and the saltwater air to fill my nose.

I smiled when a couple of kids ran on the sidewalk with their mother in tow. A group of teens dressed in bathing suits made their way to the beach, carrying bags, coolers, a volleyball, towels, and some chairs.

We passed a lot of houses and shops as we drove towards my houses. Autumn gasped and stared in awe at the luxurious and modern beach houses by the ocean. Soon the houses became fewer the closer we got to my estate. It was a bit isolated from the populated area. I like the peace and quiet.

My house came into view and Theo released a sigh of relief, "Finally."

I pulled onto the driveway, turned off the car, and got out, everyone doing the same. "Home sweet home," Theo mumbled as he breathed in the air.

'This is my house, not yours,' I reminded him. He ignored my remark as he started walking up to my front door. 'You can go home you know...'

"Oh I know," he waved me off before disappearing inside.

I rolled my eyes, which I seem to be doing a lot, and opened up the trunk, pulling out Autumn's suitcase. Autumn took it from me and sent me a 'thank you'.

We both walked up my porch and entered through the black door. Autumn's eyes scanned the modern interior. "Nice house," she commented in awe, "I like the color scheme."

My house wasn't too simple. I just stuck to a black and white interior design, similar to the one my parents had. Just a tad bit more modern.

I motioned Autumn to follow me upstairs. We passed a large window that gave a nice view of the backyard and ocean. "You have a pool?" she asked with excitement. We should swim in it sometime. It really is a beautiful view out there. "I think I am going to like it here," I heard her say to herself. My lips tugged up into a smile.

I lead her down the hallway to one of the spare bedrooms. I chose the best one for her. When we entered, she froze in her spot, gaping at the room in awe. "Damn..." I heard her mumble.

There was a large window that gave a nice view of the endless blue body of water. The walls were a cream color with interior the color of the aqua ocean. The curtains in front of the windows, the fluffy bedspread and throw pillows on the king-sized poster bed, and the fuzzy rug were aqua.

A large dresser and desk, along with the nightstands on the sides of the bed, all were the same white wood as the bed. On the other side of the room was a white love seat with aqua throw pillows that matched the bed. In front of the couch was a T.V. and coffee table.'

It honestly wasn't my decision to go all out with the guest bedrooms. One of Theo's girlfriends specialized in interior designing and she really wanted to decorate the rooms since I apparently made them 'boring'. I didn't complain though. She did a very nice job. Too bad they didn't last long. She wanted to redo Theo's bedroom at his house and he wasn't happy about it.

"This is like..." she breathed out, "an expensive hotel room." I chuckled.

She placed her suitcase on the edge of her bed and went to explore the room. She opened one of the other doors and gasped when she saw the large closet. "My clothes won't even fill up a tenth of this!"

Seeing my mate happy like this made me feel really good. My stomach bubbled with happiness and I was super glad and relieved she liked the room.

I kind of wished she could stay with me in my room, but I didn't want to force her into sharing a bed with me the first night. Although, after the events that took place last night, a part of me knows that she probably wouldn't care.

"Oh my God!" she squealed from the other room, "This bathroom is amazing! This is like every girl's dream. I'm definitely going to be spending hours in this tub."

Wait till she sees mine...

Autumn came back into the room and threw herself at me. I stumbled back a little, surprised. "Thank you!" She wrapped her arms around my neck and pressed her body against mine. On instinct, my arms snaked around he waist as I embraced her.

A few moments later, she stepped back. "If this room is big, I can't imagine how big your's is."

I pulled my phone out and typed a response, "Maybe it'll be yours too." She smiled when she read it.

"Hopefully soon."

•••

Theo left a little later, saying he has a booty call to attend. No body said 'goodbye' to him. We were too busy cleaning our ears from when he was explaining what he was going to do to the girl. Let's just say that Autumn yelled some colorful words at him.

Autumn sat on one of the stools at the island table in the kitchen. Her elbows were on the black marble counter, her head sitting on the palms of her hands. She stared at me silently.

"Do you ever get lonely?" she asked curiously. I stood on the other side of the counter, leaning against it.

What do you mean?

I wrote down on the note pad in front of me.

"Like your house is so big and you live here all alone. I get that Theo is like a brother to you and he's probably always around. But don't you get lonely? I know I would," she replied, moving her index finger on the counter, drawing random patterns with it.

I stared at her for a few seconds. Truth be told, I have been lonely. I use that time thinking about my mate or wondering what my life would be like if I wasn't Mute. It probably would be drastically different.

Slowly, I nodded my head, looking down at my fingers. They were fidgeting with the pen in my hand, clicking the end of it.

A hand was placed on my arm. My eyes wandered up to the brown eyes of my mate. She was frowning and sympathy was swirling in her eyes.

"I'm sorry," she whispered, "I don't know why I am saying it, but I'm sorry."

I turned her hand over and allowed my fingers to embrace her's, giving her hand a small squeeze. Then I brought it up to my mouth and placed a soft kiss on the back of her hand. Autumn looked at our hands with a small smile.

"Look on the bright side," she grinned, squeezing my hand back, "You found your mate and you won't be alone anymore." She sent me a wink.
