THE WELCOME ADDRESS

Its been one week since I left home. Mum was happy at the same time sad, that I was leaving her behind. Every mother fells that one their child leaves home right?

Mum sent me off to school in a way I never expected, she took my to shopping for cloths and shoes, she bought a new laptop and phone for me. When I asked her why, she said she won't spend a dime in my schooling, let her spend a little on my personal needs.

I really miss her, the day she dropped me off, I couldn't stop hugging her or letting her go. If not for Sofia and Ronny who practically dragged me away from her.

Sofia, Ronny and I arrived the same day, it wasn't a coincidence for we planned it, so that our parents will get to meet. Sofia is from a wealth home, I still wonder why she took the scholarship exams. I wouldn't have done that. That is what a good child is, the one that doesn't waste the parents money. Note the sarcasm.

"Ronny what time is the welcome address?"

"Around 4pm"

Ronny and I are room mates I don't know how it happened, I thank the lady of luck for it. It has helped us to adopt well in the school since we are friends, Sofia roommate Becky who is now our friend have been of help also. And no, she is not a scholarship student and the only one we haven't met her parents, we will though by next week during the welcome party between student, parents and staffs.

Checking my time, it was 3:30pm I quickly dressed up, after which I gave Sofia a call to get down. While brushing my hair I woke Ronny who was fast asleep to get ready.

When we got down, few steps away from us stood Sofia and Becky, We exchanged greetings. Sofia link her hand with mine, as we walk to the seminar.

We sat in the seminar hall for like twenty minutes before the school board walks in. A total number of ten staffs were at the podium.

The university chancellor welcome us, he addressed us telling the rules and regulations of the university, what can lead to suspension and expulsion.

The chancellor was still addressing us, when a young lady came in and whispered to him, the chancellor in turn past the information to other staffs. And I noticed that they became vigilante, and serious and began to rearrange themselves.

Sofia who sat beside me, asked me if I know what going

Just as I was about to give her a feed back the chancellor spoke up. Informing us that the CEO is on his way down here, telling us what is expected of us, like giving him a handshake.

In the process of talking the door opened and all eyes turned towards it to access who will come through it.

I was checking out the handsome, gorgeous man before me, when Sofia interrupted

"Oh Oma, don't tell me this handsome young man is the CEO of this prestigious university."

She was still drooling, when Ronny asked if he wasn't WELTER KINGS. Welter kings is the youngest richest man on earth with support from his parents. He is every woman dream, handsome, rich, great personality, intelligent etc.

I couldn't take my eyes off him, not because I fancy him but because he is everything am not.

The handshake is going on and to each person a book containing the history, rules and regulations of the university was given

Am sited at the middle of the hall, and nervous about this, this handshake doesn't set well with me. I fell like something will happen up there, Am scared right now, am sweating all over my body.

As our role stood up moving up to the podium, i practically dragged my foot, that Becky had to urge me to move on.

As he took my hand, I instantly felt calm and safe, we stood still, I noticed he was starring at me that made me look up and locked eyes with the most handsome man on surface earth.

It was as if he was looking into my soul, it made me scared, that made me to look away looking at my feet, he brought his left hand and Caresse my hand while saying welcome

Oh God, that voice, that voice will be the death of me.

What saved us from embarrassment was that book wasn't at close range. so when it was brought, he handed it to me while asking me to take care.

I hurriedly went back to my seat, where I still felt being stared at, even though I refused to acknowledge whom ever it was.

Let me schooling be peaceful oh lady of luck. Mum my heart missed a beat and I don't know what that is.
