Chapter 31

PAST TRUTH-24♡

YEH LAMHA ✅

Mumbai, the city that never sleeps, was bustling with activity as usual. People rushed here and there, trying to make the most of their day.

Amidst all the chaos, one news had been flashing on every digital billboard for the past week- the interview of Aahan and Srishti, the newlyweds.

The couple looked breathtakingly beautiful, holding hands and smiling at the camera. Everyone in the city was talking about them, admiring their love and beauty. However, behind the scenes, there was something darker at play.

There were whispers of a scandal that was being suppressed by the powerful Oberoi family. Nobody knew for sure what it was, but rumors were rife that it was related to them. The family was doing everything in their power to keep it under wraps, not wanting anyone to know the truth.

The guests who had attended the reception party were also tight-lipped, fearing the wrath of the Oberois. Some of them were scared for their lives, while others didn't want to risk losing their business ties with the influential family.

Amidst all the glitz and glamour, there was an undercurrent of fear and tension. The people of Mumbai couldn't help but wonder what was really going on behind the scenes. The digital billboards kept flashing the happy faces of Aahan and Srishti, but nobody knew the real story that was being suppressed.

there was a hospital where two best friends sat beside each other. Srishti held Sneha's hand tightly, her face etched with guilt and sadness. Sneha had been admitted to the hospital due to stress-related complications during her pregnancy.

As they sat together, the doctor had informed them that Sneha's pregnancy had already faced complications, and her stress was only making matters worse. Srishti felt a wave of guilt wash over her as she realized that her carelessness had played a role in this situation. She knew that if she had taken the letters seriously, things might have been different

AUTHOR POV

Srishti sat beside Sneha, tears streaming down her face. She held Sneha's hand tightly and whispered, "I'm sorry, Sneha. I'm so sorry." Sneha looked up at her friend, her face pale and weak. She managed a weak smile and said, "It's okay, Srishti. thats not your fault."

"No Sneha, that's my fault. If I had taken that letters issue seriously, this wouldn't have happened," Srishti said while shaking her head. Sneha cupped her face and made her look towards her.

"Look here, Saru. Look here," she tried to say as an order, but her voice came out in a whisper. Srishti looked towards her, tears still on her cheeks.

"Listen, that was not your fault. Never, IT WAS NEVER YOUR FAULT. You thought they were from Aahan," she asked, and Srishti nodded.

"So that's clear. It was never your fault. No one knows what will happen in the future, and you are not an exception. So now stand up and give me a smile," Sneha tried to cheer up Srishti. But Srishti started again, "But unknowingly, I hurt you. I hurt my munchkin." She said, putting her hand on Sneha's stomach, looking at her face to know if her action hurt her. But Sneha just smiled at her.

"Mera Saru, nothing will happen. Just wait and watch. After four months, your munchkin will be here with us, and then I will just leave his all work to you. Then live with your munchkin," Sneha said jokingly. But a voice interrupted her.

"Phir main kya karunga? Aap toh Sahil ke saath honeymoon 2.0 ke liye chali jaogi lekin hamara honeymoon ka?" Aahan said, entering the room with Sahil, who had some fruit bags in his hands.

As he spoke, both Sneha and Sahil started to blush, and Srishti hit his shoulder lightly.

"Okay, now baby, it's time for your medicine. Then you have to sleep. Chalo chalo," Sahil said to Sneha, forwarding an apple slice towards her mouth, which she happily ate. Dude, she was hungry, and vo bhi do logo ke liye hungry. And hamari Sneha foody bhi toh hai.

Aahan had been preoccupied with work for the past week, and on top of that, there scandal that required his attention. Despite all of this, he remained steadfast in his support for Srishti. He refused to believe that the photo of her that had been shown in their reception was real, and instead, chose to believe in her innocence.

Srishti had already confided in him that she had thought the flowers were from Aahan, and he was comforted by the fact that she trusted him enough to confide in him. After all, trust was the foundation of any relationship, and he was grateful that Srishti trusted him enough to tell him the truth.

After visiting Sneha in the hospital, Aahan knew that Srishti needed some time to process everything that had happened. He took her home and made sure that she was comfortable before leaving to attend to his work. He promised Sneha that they would be back soon and urged her to rest until they returned.

Despite his busy schedule, Aahan made sure to check in on Srishti regularly. He wanted to make sure that she was coping with everything okay and that she knew she could always count on him for support. After all, he loved her more than anything in the world and would do anything to make sure she was happy and safe.

SRISHTI POV

After reaching home, I met my whole family in the hall. As they saw that I was back, Sarika Bhabhi came and hugged me. "Saru, it's okay. We know that was fake," she said.

I had come home from that incident, but because of all the guilt, I didn't want to talk to anyone. But today, having someone hug me, I felt the urge to cry, but I controlled myself. "I am strong, I am strong," I repeated in my mind and gave a smile to my whole family. Yes, my whole family, who couldn't accept them, were with me for the whole time. They believed in me and told me again and again that that they are with me .

After bhabhi, maa came and touched my cheek before saying, "What have you done to yourself, Saru?" In return, I gave them a small smile. After exchanging some more talk, we all had our dinner peacefully. Aahan was not here as he had some important work to attend to, and now I am laying on our bed looking up at the ceiling in deep thought about what had happened in my life. I was happy and excited to start my life from the start with Aahan, and now this unexpected thing happened. I, who didn't even talk to boys more than two lines, had a scandal with an unknown boy.

As I was in deep thought, my phone notification buzzed. I rolled towards my phone and sat on the bed. There was a message from an unknown number. I opened it with doubt on my face, and as I read the message, it made me shocked...

As I read the message, my heart sank.

"Your husband, what do you think? Does he love you? That's why he married you? Oh, my Ishu, you are such a fool. He married you out of sympathy. He didn't love you; he just owned you. You saved someone when you were in Mumbai. That person was Aahan, and he didn't love you. No one can love you because you don't deserve it. Aahan's love is all a lie, and you are the big fool -H."

AUTHOR POV

After reading the cruel message, srishti felt a sharp pain in her chest, as if someone had punched her. She couldn't believe what she had just read. Her mind was racing with thoughts, and she felt a sense of dread wash over her. Suddenly, everything around her started to slow down, and she felt as if she was in a dream. The sound of Aahan running towards her from the room door became distant, and she couldn't hear anything else. Her vision began to blur, and her body felt weak. She tried to speak, but no words came out. She felt her knees buckle, and before she knew it, she was on the bed fainted.

Aahan reached her just in time and held her in his arms. He called out her name in a panicked voice, but she was unresponsive. Her face was pale, and her eyes were closed. Aahan's heart was racing as he realized that srishti had fainted. He gently stroked her hair and tried to wake her up.

After a few moments, srishti started to stir and slowly opened her eyes. She looked up at Aahan with a bewildered expression, still trying to process what had just happened.

Aahan hugged her tightly and asked, "Jaan, are you okay now? You had me worried." He examined her face while she was still in shock.

As Aahan held her, Srishti tightly grasped his hand and looked into his eyes with clear pain. "What happened? Is Sneha okay? Tell me, Jaan," he said, as Srishti remained mute.

After some time, Aahan offered her some water and she drank it. She then started to question him, "Do you love me?" she asked with hope in her eyes.

Aahan held her face in his hands and replied, "More than anyone, more than myself." Srishti asked again, "Did you marry me because of sympathy?" while still grasping his hand tightly.

Aahan hugged her even tighter and said, "No, I married you because you were my first love. You were the one who made me feel like I want to be with her forever. You were the one who made my heart flutter. Listen, Jaan, this heart is still beating for you and always will." He said the last part while placing Srishti's head on his chest, and they both lay down on the bed. Aahan was still in his formal attire.

After Aahan's confession, Srishti's heartbeat returned to normal but she still had questions. "Aahan, when did we first meet?" This question caught Aahan off guard, but he composed himself and told her the truth, "In Mumbai." Srishti looked at him, still laying on his chest, and asked, "Are you really the person I saved?"

"That hurts, Jaan, that you forgot me. Like you forgot such a handsome face?" he said with a smirk.

"It's been four years, and besides, you're not that handsome," Srishti replied in jest. Aahan started tickling her, and she had long forgotten about the message. After a few minutes, Aahan asked in a serious tone, "What happened that time? Why did you faint?" In response, Srishti showed him her phone which was lying on the side table.

As Aahan read the message, his facial expression darkened. "Did this H person want us to collide? But why?"

"I don't know. Some of the messages were too sweet, like a long lost friend, and some were too unique, like this H person always mentioning that I don't deserve this all," she said the last part slowly. Aahan hugged her and said, "You deserve everything. Don't listen to such messages," as he moved his fingers through her hair.

Srishti didn't know when she fell asleep, maybe it was because of Aahan's heartbeat, which was like music to her ears, or maybe it was because of his fingers in her hair. After she fell asleep, Aahan stood up and made his way to the balcony. He dialed someone's number, and as the person picked up, he started giving them orders. "I want every detail of this H person, and where is the investigation of that video at?"

"Sir, the investigators are working on it, but the ID addresses are not found. About the surveillance cameras, they were hacked, and they are showing the same footage on a loop."

"Okay, investigate them from the beginning with the best investigative team. I want results this week, and I am sending you a number. Send me its details." He cut the call and sent the number to the other person. After standing there in deep thought for a few more minutes, he returned to the room after changing his clothes he lay on the bed with Srishti in his arms.

"No one can hurt you jaan. I am going to find the person behind all of this soon," Aahan said through gritted teeth. But as he breathed in the sweet fragrance of Srishti's shampoo, he couldn't help but feel his body relax. With her in his arms, he drifted off to sleep.
