Chapter 26

HALDI - 19 ♡

YEH LAMHA ✅

As the night went on and the stars twinkled in the sky, a small party was taking place with the Oberoi family and some other guests. The party was being thrown by Aditya to celebrate Aahan's last night as a bachelor. Aahan was not really interested in celebrating, but eventually joined in with all.

As they all drank, Aahan had a bit too much and was now even having trouble standing up straight. "Aahan, chal na bata bhabhi ke bare mein," asked Kartik, who was one of his cousins. As Aahan heard the word "bhabhi," he started to chuckle.

"Kya hua?" asked another cousin.

"Finally - hiccup - hamari shaadi - hiccup - ho rahi hai," Aahan said, grinning widely.

"Bhai, bhabhi ko call karo na. Vaise bhi kal toh haldi hai, aap mil hi nahi sakte," suggested the cousin.

As soon as he heard this, Aahan's expression turned to one of horror and he tried to stand up, thinking about something. After a while, he started counting something on his fingers. "Ab se lekar 6 baje tak 6 hours - hiccup - phir - hiccup - 6 se sham ka 7 baje tak 13 hours," he said, his realization hitting him hard like a truck. "Nahi, itna time!" he shouted.

His cousin chuckled as Aahan tried to unlock his phone, but was unable to. "Unlock kyu nahi ho raha ye?" he asked.

"Kyunki bhai, vo mera phone hai," Kartik replied, taking his phone back.

"Acha, acha," said Aahan awkwardly, taking out his own phone from his pocket. "Ye raha ab Mrs. ka number," he said, fishing for Srishti's number. When he finally found it, he called her.

SRISHTI'S POV

Ring ring

"Ugh, what the-," I groaned as I fumbled around for my wall clock, which read 12:45 AM. "Who could be calling at this hour?" I thought, annoyed as I picked up my phone and saw Aahan's name flashing on the screen. As i picked it up

before i can say anything a low but deep voice was heard

" Ishti jaan , * hiccup* tum kya kar rhi ho " aahan asked with a grin in his voice

As i think 'me raat ke 12 bja kuch nahi jagrata kar rahi hu' but i just drank the bitter thing when i remembered the nickname he had given to me 'ishti' and i calmly said

" Did you drink?" In response aahan said " no i just sipped " and starts to laugh i was confused anyway i again asked

" Who are you with?"

" I am with you look* hiccup* we are talking " this thing made a way of small smile on my face

As i can say anything else he starts to say " jaan*hiccup* kal haldi hai or 20 ghnta hum mil nahi skte" i just laughed on his cuteness

" Why are you *hiccup*laughing"

" Because you are so cute . Aahan go and had some sleep and let me sleep goo" she said with a small smile

" Haa lekin suno* hiccup* " Srishti just hummed

" Ishti jaan i really like* hiccup* you no love you yes I * hiccup really loveeee yoou " aahan said without knowing a tint was there on my cheeks

" Aahan so jao aap" i said

" Kyu* don't you like me * hiccup" as i was thinking what to say

" I - I also like you aahan lekin mujhe ye tumhari drunk state me nahi bolna tha" i said in return aahan said " ruko ruko 1 sec ... Ha * hiccup* now can you please repeat" " no i can't I'm sleepy-" ... " Jaan please just one more time" he said

" I like you aahan " I said in such a hurry way and directly end my call after confessing but i was smiling

' aah srishti what did you do you just confess him when he was drunk lekin koi nahi abb usko yaad bhi nahi rhiya ga both are win win situation " after thinking this i go back to my sleep(this much confidence is injurious to health)

AAHAN POV

As I woke up this morning, I felt a throbbing pain in my head. Memories of my bachelor party flooded back, and I realized that I had overindulged the night before. As I recalled the events of the night, I remembered calling Srishti and her confession. I was confused and couldn't remember if she had actually said those things or if it was just a dream.

"Maybe it was just a dream," I muttered to myself, rubbing my temples in an attempt to soothe the headache. I decided to take a warm shower to help clear my head and ease the pain. As I stood under the warm water, I couldn't help but think about the events of the previous night.

After my shower, I made my way downstairs to make some coffee. The pain in my head was still present, but the caffeine helped to alleviate it slightly. As I sipped my coffee, I started to get ready for my haldi ceremony and wedding. It was hard to believe that I was finally getting married today.

Despite the headache and the confusion about Srishti's confession, I couldn't help but feel excited and nervous about the day ahead. I took a deep breath and told myself to enjoy the moment, no matter what had happened the night before. Today was my wedding day, and I was ready to start the next chapter of my life with my partner by my side.

AUTHOR POV

After Aahan finished his coffee and got ready for his haldi ceremony, he found Aditya still lounging on his bed, scrolling through his phone.

"Arre, dekho toh, hamare dulhe ne kal raat ko kya-kya kiya? Lagta hai sari raat srishti ke saath phone pe baatein kar raha tha," Aditya teased with a smirk, raising his eyebrows suggestively.

KYA!!!!! Matlab vo sapna nahi tha? usne sach mein confess kar diya?" Aahan exclaimed in shock, looking towards Aditya for confirmation. Aditya just nodded, enjoying his younger brother's embarrassment.

"Haan bhai, teri toh lag gayi! Lagta hai kal finally wait khtm hua," Aditya teased, grinning mischievously.

"Aur vo tujhse itna obsessed ho gyi ek din me ki puri raat baat krti rhi tujhse," he added, laughing at Aahan's stunned expression.

Aahan looked at his brother "Bhai, shut up, otherwise I will throw you out of the window," he said in an irritated voice.

"aacha sillha diya tune mera pyar ka" his bother said while holding his chest in overdramatic pose aahan just laughed and starts to get ready ignoring him

AUTHOR POV

After the haldi ceremony, which was a ritual where the groom's family sent some turmeric to be applied to the bride, Srishti was sitting surrounded by female guests who were applying the haldi on her. She had a small smile on her face as she noticed her friend Sneha secretly munching on some food while hiding from her husband, Sahil. After the married women had applied the haldi on her, her younger cousins started playing with the haldi, making the moment even more memorable for her.

Srishti's father was looking at her from a distance with a smile, but Srishti knew that he was holding back his tears. It was an emotional moment for both of them, realizing that their daughter was starting a new chapter in her life. She looked at her father and gave him a reassuring smile, letting him know that she was ready for this new journey.

Srishti was feeling a mixture of happiness and nervousness as her mother instructed her to take a bath and get ready for the next ritual. She was already exhausted from all the previous ceremonies. She looked down at her hands and admired the dark color of the intricate mehndi designs. Memories of the previous day made her blush as she remembered the love and excitement that had filled the air.
