RACING HEARTBEAT -12♡

YEH LAMHA ✅

SRISHTI POV

I drag my body towards my beloved bed and collapse like a bag of potatoes on it. After finishing my exam today, I am exhausted and all I want to do is sleep, but someone does not want me to sleep quietly. because my phone was constantly ringing and I wasn't in the mood to pick it up since it was on the other side of the bed and lazy me didn't want to budge

But after a continuous ring, I rolled my body to the other side and saw SNEHA flashing on it, which made me want to sleep, but then she called again, and I eventually took it up in an angry attitude, but then it seemed to hit me. SNEHA is calling.

(Now, ladies and gentlemen, allow me to present you to Srishi's dearest buddy.

Let's get started*ahem*

Meet Sneha Rathore, Srishti's closest friend since high school. Sneha, who has two-year seniority over Srishti, is now a happily married woman living in Mumbai with her husband Sahil, a lawyer who runs his own firm, and their family. Sneha and Srishti's friendship has only gotten stronger over time, and they continue to be one other's support system through thick and thin.

The most exciting news, though, is that Sneha is presently six months pregnant! Srishti is overjoyed for her buddy. isha is also her friend but not as close as sneha .

Speaking of Isha, Srishti met her during their MBBS studies. Isha is a sweet and cheerful girl, always ready to brighten up Srishti's day with her infectious energy. However, at times, her incessant questioning can become a bit irritating for Srishti. Despite this, Srishti cherishes Isha's friendship and considers her a good friend overall.)

"Hello, how are you snehu," srishti murmured in a low voice. "Hello, ki bacchi where were you? I've been calling you nonstop for the last half-hour, and look at you over here wondering how I'm doing. Saru, and where have you been for so many days that you don't even recognize me? Sneha screamed all of this in one breath while yelling into the phone, prompting Srishti to keep her phone away from her ears, and her sleep was long gone.

"Sneha, please calm down and give her a chance to explain"From the opposite side, Sahil (Sneha's husband) stated

"Yes, Jaan, take a deep breath and tell me how is my little munchkin there," I said to divert her attention, and she began to tell me how she feels her morning sickness, how she was gaining weight, how she was constantly carving, how her mood shifts, and finally she begins to cry, "Saru, I really miss you and you didn't even call me, I was scared," she said in between sobs.

"Aww Jaan, I'm really sorry, I had a lot on my plate and didn't want to give you tension," I whispered softly, as if to a kid, yet she was behaving like a naughty brat at the moment.

"What happened, did anything happen there?"She asked me twice in a worried tone.

"Haa bhut kuch bta kha se btau tujhe," I questioned, sitting on my bed in a crisscross position to tell her about my life's drama.

"Start from the beginning," she urged, and I could hear some shuffling in the background.

"Marriage, marriage talk, and soon I will be a married woman" I continued since I didn't hear any voices from the other side.

"I think engagement will be in 10- 15 days, I don't know," I responded, taking a deep breath, but then she started speaking louder than before, ah my poor ears.

"Saru WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO MARRY SOON AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME HOW CAN YOU DO this? AND WHAT ABOUT YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN YOUR ENGAGEMENT IS GOING TO TAKE PLACE, LIKE SERIOUSLY SRISHTI?" I knew she was frustrated, and I knew I was in big danger. First, she is my dearest friend, and second, she is pregnant. and both give her the authority to murder me. If she can do it, I'm sure she can choke me with my own hair.

"Snehu schi" "I'm really sorry, kaan pkd kar, but I just forgot about this whole marriage drama because of my exams, and I don't want to put you under any extra pressure because you know how much I love my little munchkin," I stated lastly in an extra sweet tone because that's her weakness right now and my method of keeping myself safe for myself.

"okk, I'm forgetting this for now, but darling, I'm not forgiving you. Just wait for me there, I'm gonna choke you with your own hair and tell everyone it's a suicide," she said, as Sahil's voice interrupted her."

"What happened when I fell in love with such a wonderful woman? Who are you?" he inquired.

"Let me tell you who I am," Sneha remarked before hanging up and told her she'd contact her later. Both cute little fights made Sishti laugh and worry about her own destiny. Will he love her as much as Sahil loves Sneha? Did her faith carry a love for her? which caused her to smile, sadly.

She looked up at the evening sky as she stood on the balcony with her coffee. The sun had set, and the sky had become a canvas of colors, with tones of pink, orange, and purple blending into one another. The clouds created a dramatic image as if they were competing for her attention. She took a drink of her coffee and felt the warmth go throughout her body. It was a peaceful and calm time, and she was thankful to be able to enjoy the beauty of nature from the comfort of her own balcony.

Her phone started to ring, and the screen displayed Aahan's number. For a moment, she hesitated, uncertain of what to do. However, after a few seconds, she mustered the confidence to answer the call, all the while listening to his soothing breath on the other end. Something stirred inside her, a feeling she couldn't quite define, but it was familiar and comforting. She closed her eyes, allowing his words to wash over her, savoring the simple pleasure of a phone call on a tranquil evening.

After a brief silence, she said, "Hello, how are you?" to which he replied, "I'm fine," which warmed her heart once more. She decided to break the ice and asked, "What are you doing?" Since they didn't have a particular topic in mind, his response was a plain "work." She couldn't help but think, Seriously, guy, you're talking to your soon-to-be wife; can't you say something more endearing?

Following his work-related response, a comfortable silence settled in, with only the sound of their breathing audible. She wasn't entirely sure why, but those soft breaths had a calming effect on her. She mustered the courage to inquire, "Why didn't you come when your entire family was here?" But she realized it was the wrong question. What she truly wanted to ask was why he hadn't come, her dear foolish man. After all, they were both getting married, and he was a part of it too. To divert her thoughts, she took a sip of her coffee.

"I was busy with work at the time," he explained, and she simply hummed in response. Okay, he wasn't as bad as she had initially thought. Then he teased, "Do you want to meet me?" She knew he was definitely pulling her leg.

"Yes, no," she mumbled, biting her tongue, thinking, Oh, Srishti, don't be foolish.

"Is it a yes or no, soon-to-be Mrs.?" he remarked with an air of authority as if she were already his wife.

Don't pretend you didn't enjoy that, her inner voice taunted, while she scolded herself, "Stop it, you silly thing." She had been lost in her own little daydream, and she hadn't realized he was waiting for her response.

"What's wrong, are you there?" He repeated the question, and she simply hummed again.

"Do you want to meet me?" Again, she responded with a hum, and he continued, "We will meet soon, Mrs. Oberoi." This time, he dispensed with the "soon-to-be" formality, and she was certain she was blushing. So she simply bid her goodbye and disconnected the call.

AAHAN POV

The warmth I felt after our phone conversation lingered on, her voice echoing in my mind. I loved the way she spoke, her words flowed with such ease and sincerity, leaving me completely captivated. It was as if every word she said was tailored for me. There were moments of silence where I could almost hear her breathing on the other end of the line, and it was in those moments that my heart raced the most. She was adorable, and the thought of soon calling her my wife filled me with excitement. I can't wait to meet her in person, to see her smile, and to hear her voice once more.

It won't be long now, I'll be seeing her soon, really soon.
