Chapter 165
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
Chapter: 165
The worst that can happen is a bit of sweat from the sun, but | wonât get sunstroke.â
Initially, Millie found the boyâs appearance slightly peculiar, yet as the saying goes, one should not slap a smiling person. Thus,
she responded in kind.
The boy weighed the orange in his hand and offered Millie a beaming smile.
âYou're correct. |, too, found it difficult to fall asleep, so | decided to take a stroll in the orchard. Napping isnât a habit of mine.
Allow me to introduce myself first. Iâm Patrick. And you?â
Millie glanced at him, remaining cautious. Without responding, she continued to gather oranges.
âYou've collected quite a number of oranges. Will you be able to finish them all?
Oranges donât keep well for long; they spoil easily,â Patrick kindly urged.
Millie stole a glance at Patrick. Why did this person talk so much? However, when she looked at his smiling face, she couldnât
discern any ill intentions.
âT won't be eating them alone. Many people will share them, so | need to gather mare,â she replied.
âLet me assist you. Iâve been wandering aimlessly in the orchard, feeling rather bored,â Patrick insisted.
Keeping his word, Patrick leaped onto an orange tree, genuinely eager to help Millie gather the fruit.
Millie remained speechless.
After collecting a few oranges, Patrick realized that the basket was quite a distance away from him. Millie stared at him with
peculiar vigilance. He cleared his throat and said, âUm. Can you move the basket a bit closer? Iâm afraid I'll accidentally drop the
oranges on the ground.â
Millie picked up the basket and obliged.
Patrick adeptly tossed the oranges into Millieâs basket. âWell, donât think too much about it. Iâm simply helping you pick oranges
to pass the time. Iâve been wandering around for a while, and when | saw you alone, | thought it would be less boring.â
Millie nodded, accepting his explanation for the time being.
âThank you.â
âYou're welcome. Are you an employee of Mr. Thomasâ company? You mentioned that the oranges are meant for many people.
They need to be sent to welfare houses, right?â
Millie expressed surprise. He seemed to know everything. Could he also be working at the Thomas Group?
âDo you also work at the Thomas Group?â Millie inquired, feeling more at ease since
Patrick appeared outgoing. She wasnât one to be cold toward others. One of her life mottos was that it was better to make an
extra friend than an extra enemy.
Besides, she had confidence in her discernment of people.
