Sitaaron ki mehfil mein, faqat tum hi mera noorani chaand ho
After few months
Nairaâs pov
It's strange how life can shift, how you can feel broken and lost one day, and then... slowly, everything changes. The bruises are gone now, the ones that used to mark my skin like shadows of the past. I donât feel the sting of those memories as sharply anymore. I feel like myself again, the old Naira, the one who smiles without holding back and lives without looking over her shoulder.
And Dev... he's been my anchor through all of it. Every time heâd gently hint at his feelings, every time he asked if I could see him as more than a friend, Iâd freeze up, unsure of my own heart. Heâd smile and say, âTake your time. Iâll wait.â Itâs incredible how heâs never pushed, never pressured just waited, always there, supporting me without asking for anything in return.
I donât know if Iâll ever be able to give him the answer heâs hoping for. But what I do know is that, because of him, Iâm not afraid to face tomorrow. Heâs helped me rebuild, until I could stand strong again.
There are moments when I catch myself thinking about what it would mean to be with Dev, really with him. Heâs always been patient, even when Iâve been distant or silent. Somehow, he understood that I needed time more time than anyone else might have been willing to give.
I see him differently now. Thereâs this warmth in his eyes, something gentle and unwavering. Itâs not just affection; itâs this quiet strength, this assurance that heâs there, no matter what. It makes me wonder if maybe, just maybe, I could let myself feel something deeper. But then, fear creeps in, whispering doubts about whether I can trust my heart after everything itâs been through.
I never imagined I'd feel this way again. Not after everything that happened with Yuvaan. There was a time when I was sure love wasnât for me especially after Yuvaan. He wasnât just protective; it felt like he was trying to control every part of my life.
I suspected dev was watching me, not openly, but there were signs. Heâd always know details Iâd never shared, be aware of things he couldnât have known otherwise. I tried to confront him once, almost jokingly, saying I thought he might be stalking me. He just laughed, brushing it off as if I were imagining things. But it left me unsettled, and in the end, it only deepened my doubts about love.
Dev showed me what real love looks like one thatâs full of care, understanding. Itâs not just in the way he treats me, but in the way he treats Ahaan too. Yuvaan barely cared about Ahaan, as if he is unworthy of his time. But Dev? Heâs there for Ahaan every day. Heâs never too busy or too tired to spend time with him. Watching him play with Ahaan, seeing how much joy he brings him it melts my heart. It makes me fall for him more deeply than I thought possible.
From the very beginning, Dev had feelings for me, even when I first called him bhaiya ji. I didnât realize back then that he was so serious about me or that he had this mysterious side hidden beneath his calm exterior. But looking back now, none of that matters. What matters is the way he feels like home, like the safe place I never knew I needed.
My parents often call and ask about Dev, which always brings back memories of how he would reach out to them, explaining and reassuring them that I hadnât done anything wrong. He never judged me and was always willing to speak up for me, something no one else had ever done. Heâs the first person to make that kind of effort, to show me I was worth standing up for.
For a long time, I thought Yuvaan was the one who loved me deeply, but it was Dev all along. He was the one silently, steadily loving me in the background. It took me a while to see it, but now that I do, I know how much he truly means to me.
It was late at night, and the house was wrapped in silence. I couldnât sleep, so I found myself drifting down the hallway to check on Ahaan. I pushed open the door to his room, and the sight that greeted me made me pause, warmth spreading through my chest. There was Ahaan, sleeping soundly in Devâs lap, his tiny hand resting on Devâs chest, while Dev himself had fallen asleep, his head resting back, one arm protectively around Ahaan. The way they were together, peaceful and safe, was so tender, so real it was a picture of family I hadnât dared to imagine for myself.
For a while, I just stood there, watching them. There was something deeply comforting about the sight. Dev had been there for us in a way I never thought anyone would be. Every single day, he showed up, with endless a gentle understanding. Heâd become someone I could rely on, someone Ahaan could rely on. And that meant more than he could ever know.
Moving slowly so as not to wake either of them, I bent down and gently lifted Ahaan from Devâs lap, tucking him softly into his crib and pulling the blanket up to his chin. I glanced back at Dev, who was still asleep. Crefully, I took a blanket and draped it over him, hoping to let him sleep without a chill.
Just as I was about to turn and leave, I felt a gentle but firm hand wrap around my wrist. I looked down to find Dev awake, his eyes meeting mine with a seriousness I hadnât seen before. For a moment, neither of us spoke, the silence stretching between us, his hand warm against my skin.
âHow many days will it take for you to understand my feelings, Naira?â His voice was quiet but filled with emotion, his eyes searching mine as if trying to read what lay hidden in my heart.
I hesitated, but I didnât pull away. Instead, I sank down beside him on the edge of the bed, feeling my heart race as I met his gaze. The walls Iâd built around myself had kept me from saying what I truly felt, but tonight, something was different. I took a breath and leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss on his cheek, feeling a warmth rise in me that I couldnât deny.
âThank you,â I whispered, my voice barely audible, âfor everything, for being there for me, for Ahaan, for never giving up on us. And... in the future, I want it to be you by my side, taking care of us.â
Devâs eyes widened for a moment as he processed what Iâd said, disbelief flickering across his face before understanding dawned. Slowly, a smile broke out, lighting up his face in a way that made my heart flutter. âWhat did you just say?â he asked, his voice filled with a kind of wonder, as if he needed to hear it again to believe it.
I couldnât help but smile, a little nervous, a little shy, but certain. Before I could repeat myself, he pulled me into his arms, holding me close in a warm, comforting embrace that felt like coming home. I buried my face against his shoulder, feeling his heartbeat, feeling safe.
âI love you, Naira,â he murmured, his voice full of a happiness that reached right down to my core. They were words I knew heâd been holding back for so long, words heâd waited so patiently to say.
As Dev wrapped his arms around me, he pulled me close, and I could feel his warmth and sincerity. He looked down at me and spoke softly.
"Youâll never have to go through what you did with Yuvaan," he said, his voice steady and comforting. "Iâll help you get past it, I promise."
I looked up at him, feeling a sense of relief I hadnât felt in a long time. "Do you really think I can?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.
He nodded, his eyes full of reassurance. "Yes, Naira. I know you can. And youâre not alone in this Iâll be right here, every step of the way."
In that moment, I realized how much I admired him not just for his words but for the quiet, steady way he was helping me put myself back together.
With a soft smile, I leaned back just enough to look into his eyes, letting myself feel everything Iâd been afraid to admit. âI love you too, Dev,â I whispered, knowing that this was the beginning of something real and lasting, something I hadnât dared to believe I could have.
In that moment, everything felt right. We sat there, wrapped in each otherâs arms, with Ahaan sleeping soundly nearby. For the first time, I felt like our little family was complete, and I knew that no matter what came our way, weâd face it together.
The end
To all those who are asking why didn't Dev stop all these when he knew how Yuvaan treated Naira. Yuvaan also knew Dev is a stalker so Yuvaan told Dev, to stay away from Naira or else he will kill her and ahaan. So Dev had no option left, so he killed yuvaan.
