Bittersweet Revenge: The mafia's wife

Scar Boss gripped the phone so tightly that his knuckles turned white. His assistant stood in front of him, tense and waiting."Who took her?" His voice was ice."We're tracking the vehicle now. They headed east. We suspect it might be-"The phone in his hand buzzed. An unknown number. He answered.A distorted voice crackled through the line."If you want her back, you know what to do."Scar Boss didn't blink. "You're making a mistake."The man laughed. "Am I? The great Scar Boss, helpless? Be here in 10 mins, or she suffers."A dark smirk curled Scar Boss's lips."You think you can threaten me?" His voice dropped to a whisper-low, deadly. "Let me make something very clear. You've taken what's mine. And now, you've signed your death warrant."The man hesitated, but before he could respond, Scar Boss ended the call.He turned to his assistant. "Get the car. We leave now."His assistant nodded but hesitated."Sir, if this is a trap-"Scar Boss's eyes gleamed with something terrifying."Then I'll burn them alive."**At the Warehouse**Amaira's heart pounded as the men paced, occasionally glancing at her like she was nothing more than leverage. Then, in the distance-The faint sound of approaching tires. The men stiffened.A single black car came into view, headlights cutting through the darkness.Scar Boss had arrived.Amaira didn't know why, but something inside her stirred-something unexplainable, something that made her heart pound for a different reason. The warehouse doors creaked open, and there he stood. The air inside the warehouse grew suffocating as Scar Boss walked in, his presence swallowing the room whole. His dark eyes, sharp as a blade, swept over the men standing before him. They weren't just any criminals-this was the second most powerful mafia syndicate in the city, and their leader, Damian Kane, stood at the center, smirking like he had already won.Amaira sat tied to a chair in the middle of the room, her wrists raw from the ropes. Scar Boss's gaze barely flickered toward her before locking onto Damian."You came alone." Damian's voice was laced with amusement.Scar Boss didn't respond. He simply took a slow step forward, his hands still in his pockets, exuding pure dominance.Damian chuckled. "Bold as ever." He turned to his men. "You see, boys? Even when he's outnumbered, Scar Boss still thinks he's untouchable."Scar Boss remained silent, but his patience was razor-thin.Damian sighed dramatically. "You know, we could've handled this differently. But instead of being civil, you've been a thorn in my side for too long. Your power, your influence-" He sneered. "It's time someone puts you in your place."Scar Boss finally spoke, his voice devoid of emotion. "You talk too much."Damian's smirk twitched. "I'll make this simple." He gestured around. "This is my territory, my rules. And if you want to leave here alive-with the girl you'll have to do something you've never done before."Silence hung heavy in the air. Then, Damian's next words shattered it."Bow down." He commandedAmaira's breath hitched.Scar Boss didn't react. His expression remained unreadable.Damian's smirk widened. "What's wrong? Too proud? Too powerful?" He stepped forward, lowering his voice mockingly. "Or do you care too much about this girl to let her die?"Scar Boss's jaw clenched.Amaira watched in horror. This wasn't just about power. This was humiliation. A game to see if Scar Boss -the most feared man in the underworld-would break. The room fell into a tense silence.Then-Scar Boss moved.Amaira's heart pounded as he dropped to one knee.A collective gasp echoed through the room. Even Damian faltered, his smirk flickering with disbelief.Scar Boss the untouchable king of the mafia-was bowing. For her.Amaira felt something inside her shatter.Damian barked a laugh. "Well, well. I never thought I'd see this day." He pulled out a phone, ready to capture the moment. "Maybe I should-"Bang!The sound of a gunshot echoed through the warehouse. Amaira gasped.Damian stumbled, his phone clattering to the ground. Scar Boss was back on his feet, gun in hand, smoking barrel pointed at Damian's leg.The power in the room shifted instantly.Scar Boss's voice was calm, deadly. "I bowed. Now let's see if you can stand."Damian gritted his teeth, agony flashing in his eyes.Scar Boss tucked his gun away, grabbed Amaira's wrist, and pulled her up."Let's go." Scar Boss with his harsh voice let out trying to be less scary for Amaira's sake.No words. No explanations. Just his grip-unwavering, unbreakable. And as they walked out, leaving Damian writhing in pain, Amaira wasn't sure what shook her more-the fact that Scar Boss had bowed, or the fact that he had done it for her.
