Bittersweet Revenge: The mafia's wife

Amaira's eyes darted around the dimly lit warehouse, her heart racing with fear. The goons who had kidnapped her sneered and jeered, clearly enjoying the show.Suddenly, the sound of footsteps echoed through the room. Amaira's eyes locked onto the figure emerging from the shadows. Scar Boss. His eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched."Scar Boss, come to rescue his precious girl." Sneered the grotesque man.Scar Boss charged forward, his fists flying. The goons laughed, thinking they had the upper hand. But Scar Boss was a force to be reckoned with.He took down the first goon with a swift kick to the stomach. The second goon swung a punch, but Scar Boss dodged it easily and landed a solid punch to the goon's jaw.Amaira watched in awe as Scar Boss fought his way through the goons. He was like a machine, unstoppable and relentless. But Scar Boss wasn't fighting to save her. He was fighting to get to something else. Amaira's eyes followed his gaze, and she saw what he was after - a small pendrive on the table behind the goons.Scar Boss fought with renewed intensity, his eyes fixed on the pendrive. He took down the last goon with a vicious kick, and then he strode over to the table.Just then a sharp pain landed on Amaira's hand. She looked aside and found one of the men inserting a serum in her body. She pushed him aside with her body. But half of the fluid was already in her. She didn't know how long she would be conscious. The look on Scar Boss' eyes narrowed further. His movements became more aggressive and ruthless. He plowed through the goons like a hot knife through butter, his fists flying and his feet kicking with precision. The goons were relentless, but Scar Boss was a force to be reckoned with. He took down one goon with a vicious uppercut, sending him crashing to the ground. Another goon swung a pipe at him, but Scar Boss dodged it easily and landed a series of rapid-fire punches that left the goon reeling. The fight was intense, with punches flying and bodies crashing to the ground. But in the end, it was Scar Boss who stood victorious, his chest heaving with exertion. The goons cowered at his feet, begging for mercy. "Please, stop!" one of them whimpered. "We'll do anything, just don't hurt us anymore!" Scar Boss's eyes narrowed, his gaze cold and unforgiving. But he didn't move, didn't strike. He just stood there, his chest heaving, as the goons cowered at his feet.He snatched up the pendrive and turned behind to look up at the girl who had escaped from his clutches. The last thing Amaira saw was him clutching the pendrive tight, a death look in his eyes. She knew she was about to be knocked out and wanted to plead him for help but she knew that he would much likely watch her die rather than save her. He was just a selfish ruthless man...***Amaira woke up to the faint sunlight peeking through the small window of her room. She rubbed her eyes, wondering if it had all been a dream. But the memories of the previous night came flooding back - the warehouse, the goons, and Scar Boss. She couldn't believe it. Scar Boss, the ruthless man who had tortured her, had saved her. The thought sent her mind reeling.***'Hey Raven, I've been trying to contact you for quite a few days. Maybe you are occupied with some work so I am sending you this text. We have to break up Raven. It's not your fault, it's just that I had to get married suddenly with a stranger. I know I sound absurd and I would explain everything in detail when we meet later. But right now I can only say that we can never be together. I was waiting for the right moment to tell you this, but it never came and I don't know when the next time of our meeting will be. But I just hope you forgive me and lead a better life without me.' Amaira re-read the text for the 30th time. It was sent long ago, however the blue ticks were still invisible. Realising that she was wondering what Raven was up to, she kept her mind off by brushing through the kitchen. Days were never long for Amaira as it was for nights. Cooking, cleaning, washing, gardening- each task kept her mind out of the emotions she wished to avoid. But today for the strange reason she didn't understand what those emotions were.Logically speaking, after the event occurred yesterday, she ought to feel disheartened, angry, hatred and maybe fear. But she should also feel grateful. But here she was not feeling either. It was quite inhuman to not feel these emotions right at the moment. But she felt otherwise.Scar Boss for another strange reason stayed totally inside his study room and only came out once to go to his dungeons. Amaira didn't see him at all for the day and she was glad so. She didn't know what emotion would plunder down for the bottled bubble of emotion on seeing him, so it was better she avoided him.Scar Boss had a similar intention but with his own variation. He avoided her in order to not go easy on her. He had to bottle up his anger to use it later on her. Right now he was feeling satisfied for tormenting Amaira's emotion. He believed that she would be in terror the whole day. But today there was something in him that he didn't understand and right now he didn't even want to."What's she doing?" He finally asked in the evening."Sir, she did the entire house chore since the morning and now maybe she is watering and pruning the plants." The assistant, Mr. Will Wundt said"Pruning? I see. You may now leave." Scar Boss ordered as Will left his office. He stood up before the large glass window staring down, trying to find her. It was not long before he found her squatted near a rose bush trying to give them a decent shape. Her hands worked fast and her mind worked calmly which troubled someone. He kept staring at her until the last stem was cut. Then she gathered the tools and put them in the basket as she stood up. As she showed up from the bushes, the orange ethereal light which illuminated as a result of the twilight  fell on her face. She slowly looked up at the sky.The not so night sun was getting covered by the purple clouds surrounding it. A bliss of light drifted its way to the sky, for reminding the hours passed. Amaira stared long, unaware of someone watching her. She tender smile mellowed her lips, which for the first time in a month had bestowed upon her. Her heart questionably felt at ease and she knew why. While she did the chores today, Amaira had put thoughts into her feelings. She no longer felt hatred towards scar Boss afterall he indeed saved her life once. But one thing was sure that she did not like him that much either.
