chapter 30

            Vanya's POVYesterday, we went to marine drive and I felt relaxing there. I wished that time to last forever with him on my side. Everything was beautiful and perfect at that time. We reached home and I challenged him for cooking competition, I asked him where flour container is?  I thought of a small mischief, I took flour on my hand and threw it in his face. My plan backfired, he also  took some flour and rubbed it in my face. We played holi with flour till the whole container got empty. While running, I slipped because of flour, he held me by the waist but he also slipped and we both fell down on the ground. He forwarded his hand and then I got up and then we cleaned all the mess we mad people created. Mayur helped me in making pulao and then he suggested to watch a movie. I agreed with him and we watched the whole movie. Next morning... I woke up first and took a bath and then woke him up. After that I went to the kitchen to make tea and breakfast for both of us. He came after having bath and we had our breakfast together. He left for his office and I had to attend interview in the college which dad suggested. I attended the interview and got the job there as an English professor. So I called him to first to inform him. Vanya : "Hello Mayur, are you busy?" Mayur :" I am free now. I guess you  called me to inform that you got the job there." Vanya : "Ya, but how did you guess? "Mayur :" I am having my eyes on you 24/7, sweetheart"😘Vanya :" Shut up, idiot. I am going to the market now to buy groceries. You will be tired by evening , so I am going ok?"Mayur :" Thanks sweetheart for thinking about me. When you will be joining?"Vanya : "From next month, that is after 10 days that is on Feb 1."Mayur : "Ok sweetheart, Take care bye. I will talk to you later. And message me when you reach home."Vanya : "Ok, Bye. Take care". I then call my parents and Mayur's parents to inform them and they all were very happy. I buy all the necessary items for the home and then I drive back home. After reaching home, I message him. It's 7 pm in the evening now, he arrived home and I offered him tea and some snacks to have. He had it quickly, I think he was hungry all day. He went to his room and and I started preparing dinner for both of us. He came down and we had dinner together. He helped me in arranging groceries. I made fresh turmeric milk for both of us. We sat on the sofa and talked about how our day went today. Mayur : "If you don't mind, can we go for a walk now?"Vanya : "Ok, let's go. I will bring the door key". We lock the house and roam on the streets. We walk side by side, he holds my hand and interlink my fingers with his. There was a ice cream stall nearby. He asked me whether I wanted to have ice cream. I nodded at him and he went and bought 2 icecreams for both of us. He bought my favorite vannila ice cream for me and for him, he took chocolate. We stood there and we had ice cream looking at the moon. He was continuously looking at me and I was not able to meet his eyes. Whenever I see his eyes, I feel strange as his eyes are speaking something, I can't understand. So I stare at the moon. After having ice cream, we walk back to our room. He slept as soon as his head hit the bed. I have a habit of writing diary. I saw the date, 21 January today, means after 3 days it's my birthday. First time, I am going to celebrate my birthday away from my home, my family. I even don't know if Mayur remembers and I am not going to tell him😁. I slept soon after writing diary. Diary has all my wishes, all my feelings, fear etc.. ....... 23 January, Next day  went by the work in the home. I cleaned, dusted the dust arranged all the things properly.Mayur went to office and came. He told me to get ready as we are going outside. I thought he is going to give me birthday suprise. He took me to the mall, I expected that he will buy me a dress. I started looking at all the dresses, gowns etc. He went to men's section I liked a gown very much. I thought to call him. But instead he came, he showed me 2 coats and asked me to select one. I selected one. Mayur : "I have a meeting presentation tomorrow with a very big client, so I thought to buy a new coat. Come, let's go I have to buy other things also." I nodded and went behind him, idiot, he doesn't even remember my birthdate. I thought to purchase that dress next time. He took many things and then we were roaming from here to there. He takes so much time in selecting things. Its almost 9 pm now. Then we went to his another friend's house for dinner as they have invited us. We enjoyed our time there with them, we had dinner. I was tired and wanted to go home and sleep. But this idiot, had some another  plan , he went again to the mall with his friend. I was sitting and talking with his friend's wife 'Divya'. We both talked for some time and I got to know that she is the professor in the same college, in which I will be joining. They came at about 11 pm and Mayur had shopping bags with him fully packed. Then we left from there. I slept in the car as soon as he started driving. He woke me up when we reached home. I didn't see the time maybe it's midnight now. Nobody wished me not even acha and amma. Every year they were the first one to wish me. This time not even a call😞😖😫 He opened the door. It was all darkness. I very well remember I had kept the hall light on. I was not able to see anything, so I thought of holding Mayur's hand. But, he is not standing by my side. I called his name but he is not responding. I am afraid now. I am afraid of darkness. So I started to move slowly and someone from behind covered my eyes. The hands which covered me was of a girl. I shouted... Vanya : "Mayur, help.
