Lin Yueqi’s old home was in a town in Sichuan’s Qingshan. Qingshan was one of the four major Daoism mountains in China and this particular town had an extremely long lasting history with its distinctive architectural style.

After she arrived at the Sichuan International Airport from the A City International Airport, it would take another 40 minutes on the power car before Lin Yueqi could arrive at the Qingshan Town.

Lin Yueqi led her assistant and carried along two heavy suitcases as she walked out of the airport. They headed towards the underground floor to catch the power car.

The two hurriedly got in and sat down in first class seats. The powerful and strong Xiao Ke lifted the two suitcases and easily placed it on the luggage rack, which caused a certain old man wearing earbuds and carrying an iPad to stare in surprise.

It was early winter, so Xiao Ke was still wearing a short pink dress with matching pink stockings and two hair buns on her head. Because she had a petite figure and a weak looking physique, she could easily master this lolita style. Right now, she had her hands on her waist, panting, and she puffed her cheeks up as she complained, “Sister Qi, I really give up. Can’t we just take a private car back? Why must we take this crowded power car back home?”

There were barely any people within this first class carriage. Around them, there was only a foreign old man wearing earbuds, holding an iPad in his hands.

“It’ll cost 600 yuan to take a private car. Do you have any idea how much 600 means to me? It’s my living expenses for a whole month!” Lin Yueqi pulled Xiao Ke down to sit and held onto her arms, sighing with feelings. “Xiao Ke, I didn’t think you’re that strong.”

“If I don’t have some sort of abilities, how can I work for you, right?” Xiao Ke took out a water bottle from the bag considerately and delivered it to Lin Yueqi, saying, “Here, Sister Qi, drink some water!”

Lin Yueqi took the water bottle from her and took a sip when Xiao Ke received the manager’s call.

The call was 5 minutes long and Xiao Ke answered with “yes,” “I know,” and “I will consider this” the entire time.

The call got hung up and Xiao Ke glanced pitifully at Lin Yueqi who was drinking, saying, “Sister Qi, you’re doomed.”

“What’s the matter? Why this look?” Lin Yueqi closed the cap on the bottle and asked.

Xiao Ke said, “Sister Mei called me to tell you that the company doesn’t plan on extending the contract with you. Your contract will expire in the middle of the month. She wants me to tell you this so you can search for another company in advance.”

Lin Yueqi took out a packet of spicy sticks from her bag and ripped the package open, shoving a spicy stick into Xiao Ke’s mouth before eating one herself.

Her words were unclear as she had food in her mouth, “Cancelling the contract? That’s pretty good, no? That way, I don’t need to pay them for acting on my behalf, right? What are you thinking about?”

“I survive on the company’s pay and you brought me into the company as well…therefore, Sister Mei wants me to consider… working for another celebrity or leaving the company with you.”

“Follow me? I’d rather not. You should quickly find another celebrity. If you work as a manager for me, I’ll only be able to pay you 6,000 at max.” It seemed like Lin Yueqi hadn’t eaten any spicy food in a while, so her body couldn’t endure the spice. She ate a few spicy sticks before she started huffing and puffing. Her forehead was drenched with sweat.

She lifted the spicy sticks in her hand and said, “Damn. Not only did the price of the spicy sticks eight years later rose, but the flavor changed too. Garbage!”

“…” Xiao Ke tugged her thick eyebrows as she glanced at Lin Yueqi, speechlessly saying, “Sister Qi, have you been listening to me? If I leave you as well, you’re actually doomed with the situation you’re in right now!”

Lin Yueqi raised her left eyebrow and said indifferently, “So what? I’ve made up my mind already. Not only am I going to open up a supermarket, but I’m also going to open up a snack counter by the school or inside of it! Xiao Ke, if you come to my supermarket or snack counter in the future, you can have all the food you want! You don’t need to be proper with me!”

Xiao Ke was speechless.

Ever since Lin Yueqi debuted, she had been her assistant.

She originally was a college student just like Lin Yueqi who worked hard in the movies and television city as part-timers by taking part in small roles in theatrical plays. Because their family situations were similar and they had complementary personalities, they quickly became good friends. When Lin Yueqi became popular, she didn’t forget her friend and instead, she introduced her to directors.

However, Xiao Ke quickly realized that she wasn’t fit to be an actress, so she changed paths and became Lin Yueqi’s assistant.
