The day of the Newcomer’s Party arrived quickly.

For the freshmen, there were two exciting events during this period. One was the Newcomer’s Party, and the other was the Autumn Sports Meet to be held two weeks later.

For many, these were opportunities to stand out and start making a name for themselves on campus, as well as a chance to catch the eye of the opposite sex.

On the day the Newcomer’s Party started, this thread was still building, with the floor count rapidly approaching a thousand.

Due to this thread, several other notable figures in the program received relatively less attention.

Luo Ziling also got the program from Cao Jianhui ahead of time.

What pleasantly surprised Luo Ziling was seeing Yang Qingyin’s name on the program; however, the name of her act wasn’t listed, meaning the program did not disclose what she would perform.

Other attention-grabbing acts in the program included the acclaimed newcomer campus beauty Ouyang Huihui with a solo dance performance, scheduled third in the lineup. Another was a solo song by the well-known campus beauty Jian Fei.

Another highlight was the hosts of the show. Popularity goddess Dai Shulan would present the program alongside a handsome senior named Chen Liguo, who could draw screams from many girls, and another beautiful female student, Luo Yuqing.

Dai Shulan, second only to Yang Qingyin in popularity, was a campus beauty known for her stunning appearance and curvaceous figure that could captivate any man’s gaze, dubbed by many students as Yan University’s Liu Yan. Luo Yuqing also ranked highly among the campus beauties, with an impressive height of 1.75 meters and legs that could draw all male students’ eyes, with some jokingly saying one could have fun with those legs for a lifetime.

Chen Liguo was a junior from the Broadcasting Department, not only handsome but also very talented. His only drawback was his modest family background, which slightly affected his popularity, yet he remained the dream lover of many girls.

The Newcomer’s Party was held at 6:30 PM on Friday, at the university’s auditorium that could accommodate ten thousand people.

The school’s main leaders and heads of each department all attended the Newcomer’s Party.

All freshmen from the main campus of Yan University attended the Newcomer’s Party, and some students from the second, third, and fourth years also had the privilege of attending.

The Clinical Medicine Class One, which Luo Ziling was part of, was seated in the middle—not the best, but not the worst position either.

At 6:30 p.m., the welcome party began punctually.

Chen Liguo, dressed in a green suit, along with another male host, a first-year student Lin Hanliang, appeared on the stage alongside Dai Shulan in a red dress and Luo Yuqing in a white long gown.

After Luo Yuqing and Dai Shulan each gave a greeting, the four hosts collectively greeted the audience, “Good evening, everyone!”

After the hosts’ opening spiel, the show officially got underway.

The first act was a group dance by second-year students called “Yan University Welcomes You,” with the dance music adapted from the Olympic song “Beijing Welcomes You.”

A group of young men and women in various colorful outfits danced buoyantly to the music, instantly elevating the atmosphere to a climax.

At the end of the dance, the whole place was seething with cheers, shouts, and whistles that rose and fell in waves. Cao Jianhui and a few others beside Luo Ziling were jumping and dancing as well.

The second act was a collective poetry recitation called “Yan University Past” performed by several teachers.

The male and female teachers recited poetry depicting the history and achievements of Yan University.

After the teachers’ poetry recitation ended, the handsome and debonair host Chen Liguo took the stage and announced the next act.

“Thank you, teachers, for bringing us such a splendid performance that let us appreciate the history and glory of Yan University, and also inspires us to create even more brilliant achievements. The next act is a solo dance ‘You Come from the Snowy Mountains’ performed by our Yan University’s rising star, Huihui. Let’s all look forward to the beautiful fairy Ouyang gracing us with a visual feast through her enchanting dance!”

The applause thundered through the venue instantly, followed by exclamations and whistling.
