EP6 - Apology and Friends
The Doctor's Therapist | AbhiRa Fanfiction
Abhimanyu was seething with anger inside his cabin, after the whole common room fiasco. He was pacing up and down to control the anger he was feeling for that 'apeshit crazy' girl.
"Whole night I was busy in surgeries. I thought I would get some rest in the break room for a few hours till my next surgery, but that crazy psycho woman didn't let that happen. She is totally out of her mind. Mahadev! please don't let me see her ever again because I will lose my mind with her"
Abhimanyu was busy cursing Akshara in his mind, when all of the sudden a hand touched him, startling him. He turned around to find the one person, he had just wished wouldn't appear in front of him.
Akshara was standing behind him, holding two cups of coffee in her hands. She looked at him with a smile, making him come back into his senses. He took a deep breath and glared at her.
"What are you doing here? And don't you have the manners to knock before barging into someone's cabin? He asked, his fists clenched tightly.
"I just came here to apologize. And I did knock, even called out but didn't hear any response so I came in to check if everything was okay." Akshara said, and he felt his anger diminishing a little.
"I'm so sorry for hitting you, I shouldn't have done that. I don't know, sometimes I just keep talking rubbish without even realizing what am I saying. I apologize for that as well. Will you forgive me? A coffee as a truce?" She said, extending her hand, offering him the cup of coffee she brewed.
Abhimanyu was taken aback by her sincere apology. He had not expected her to do so, especially when he was rude and insensitive towards her, from the beginning. Now, even he regretted his behaviour. He slowly took the coffee she offered, making her grin widely.
"I knew you would not be so 'Chidku' to not even accept my apology." Akshara chuckled making his lips pull up in a little smile.
"I can't believe it. One minute I'm angry at you and the next minute I'm smiling because of you." Abhimanyu shook his head.
"Well, that's my charm!" Akshara flipped her hair making his smile wider.
"Andddd... I think we need to start over, without any default fights. So let me introduce myself again. Hi, My name is Akshara Goenka and I'm the new music therapist at this hospital." She forwarded her hand for him to shake, which he held firmly.
"Abhimanyu... Dr. Abhimanyu Birla, a senior cardiac surgeon at this hospital!" He introduced and Akshara gasped.
"Birla as in Birla Hospital? You really are a hotshot here?" Akshara asked, making him chuckle.
"Yes, Miss Goenka, I'm the 'hotshot' here," He said repeating the words. Akshara's mouth goes 'o' at this and then she grinned.
"Don't say, Miss Goenka, it sounds old. Call me Akshara or Akshu just like my friends."
"Then you can also call me Abhimanyu, or Abhi just like my mom." Akshara nodded her head.
"Nice to meet you Abhi, though we had quite a rough start. Friends?" She said.
"Nice to meet you too Akshu! And Friends!"
They looked into each other's eyes and smiled.
...
"Oh My God! Am I in heaven? What did I just see?" Neil exclaimed as he entered Abhimanyu's cabin.
Abhimanyu who was lost in the thoughts of the conversation he had with Akshara, was smiling unconsciously while leaning on the chair of his cabin. He came back to his senses, with the sudden shout of Neil. He straightened up immediately and stopped smiling.
"Why are you shouting, Neil?" He grumbled, grabbing a random file to review.
"Bhai! I just saw you smiling. Like literally smiling, with your lips pulled up from both ends." Neil said, imitating the smile by pulling his lips from both sides.
"Shut up, Nautanki! I was not smiling." Abhimanyu empathized on the word 'not'.
"Stop lying, Bhai. I saw you. Tell me what made you smile? Tell me, tell me!" Neil whined, leaning over Abhi's desk.
"Maybe, because I made a new friend." Abhimanyu smiled without realizing just for Neil's eyes to widen.
"No way! Did you make a new friend - YOU? Who is it, tell me, who is that Angel who had guts to make you his friend?" He asked.
"Her"
"Sorry?"
"It is her, not his..." Abhimanyu said and walked out from his cabin, leaving Neil with his mouth agape. It took a few seconds for Neil to come to his senses when he realized what his brother has said, and then he shouted.
"HER???!!!"
