EP9 - Feelings
The Doctor's Therapist | AbhiRa Fanfiction
Akshara was thoroughly annoyed with Abhimanyu. He has been avoiding her like a plague. After what happened in his cabin a few days ago, he had been giving her silent treatment.
She huffed in anger as she settled herself on a seat in the hospital cafeteria, putting the tray of food with a bang on the table. Neil looked at her shocked and gulped lightly seeing her anger.
"What happened, Akshara? Is everything okay?" Neil asked and she took a deep breath to control her anger.
"No, nothing is okay! Your dear brother, Dr. Abhimanyu Birla, is ruthlessly ignoring me for no reason whatsoever. I hate him, that Chidkuram!" She puffed her cheeks, taking a large bite of her burger in anger.
"Bhai and ignoring you? I thought you were best buddies!" He empathized while putting air quotes with fingers. It had taken a few weeks for him to get used to his brother's and Akshara's friendship.
They were almost together, whenever they were free in the hospital. They had their lunch together, sometimes even breakfast or dinners. They even went out together at weekends. And he would also find his brother joining her in music therapy. So, for him knowing Abhimanyu ignoring Akshara was quite a shock.
"Yes! We were supposed to share everything but that duffer is ignoring me. He goes on roll calls during lunchtime and even when he is on a break, he tries his best to avoid the places he knew I would be in." Akshara muttered, sipping her soft drink.
"You know what! I'm tired of putting efforts from my side only when he is not into this friendship. From now on, I'm also ignoring him completely. How dare he do that to me? He doesn't know what devil is Akshara Goenka!" She clenched her fists and Neil prayed for his brother's safety in his heart.
Angry women were the deadliest.
...
"Neil, how many times have I told you to knock before you enter. You never listen!" Abhimanyu grumbled as he continued his push-ups.
Neil ignored him and settled on the chair, in front of Abhimanyu.
"So, a little birdie told me that Dr. Abhimanyu Birla is on 'no-speaking terms' with a certain music therapist at our hospital?" Neil said mischievously, making Abhimanyu pause his movements just for a few seconds.
"It's nothing like that. I don't know what you're talking about." Abhimanyu clenched his jaw as he said that.
"Liar, liar, pants of fire. Stop lying about this, Bhai! Akshara was very heartbroken with your attitude." Neil said and Abhimanyu stood up from the floor and looked at Neil with a different kind of emotion.
"She was? Did she talk to you?" He whispered, that almost was missed by Neil.
"Yes, Bhai! She looked like she would cry at any moment. I have never seen Akshara like this." Neil smirked seeing his brother's condition. Abhimanyu was his brother, how could he not know what his Bhai was feeling.
Abhimanyu felt like someone had just cut his heart into pieces, at the mere thought of her crying face. He didn't want to make her sad. He was just confused about his feelings towards Akshara that he wanted a little space from her.
"But you don't have to worry, Bhai. She is happy now. I heard her laughing jovially with that neurosurgeon Dr. Virat. Looks like she found a new 'friend' in the hospital so she'll forget about you soon." Neil emphasized the word 'friend' and Abhimanyu clenched his fists tightly at the thought of another man seeing her beautiful laugh.
"Also, I heard Dr. Virat is the almost same age as you and he is the crush of many nurses at our hospital. Someone even told me that his family is looking for a suitable girl for him to marry. I think Akshara is not bad for him. What do you say Bhai?" Neil asked, his eyes glinting in mischief. Abhimanyu trembled in rage, his jaw clenched tightly.
"No! They are not suitable for each other. Forget about it!" Abhimanyu muttered, his heart racing with this newfound information.
"In my opinion, they will make a good couple. Just imagine Akshara wearing a beautiful bridal lehenga and him just staring at her like she's his world. Imagine her feeding him the food with her own hands, and him pulling her towards him. I can even imagine their cute kids-"
Neil was interrupted by Abhimanyu's loud shout.
"Stop it! Just stop it! Akshara will never belong to him! Never!" He ranted.
Abhimanyu had just imagined the scenes Neil had told, and his heart clenched painfully at the mere thought of her in someone else's arms.
"Why Bhai? Why can't you see Akshara with another man? Why?" Neil interrogated and Abhimanyu's hidden feelings just burst out.
"Because she belongs to me, dammit! She is mine, only mine, MY Akshara because I love her so fucking much!" Abhimanyu shouted, making Neil smirk.
"Thank God, Finally!"
